  1. UNT (11-3), today, 6PM, Denton, ESPN+ Katie Cimusz B12 Player of the Week. Quite an honor for a Freshman. In preseason interview, Iakopo stated to keep an eye on her. Iakopo should go into coaching/recruiting. For her stellar efforts helping power Texas softball (12-9) over a seven-game stretch, Longhorns freshman catcher/first baseman Katie Cimusz has earned her first career selection as the Big 12 Conference's Player of the Week (March 8). The Humble, Texas, native hit .429 overall (9-for-21) with eight runs scored, two steals, a team-high four HR's, 21 total bases and seven RBIs, while slugging 1.000 and registering a 1.500 OPS. Over one stretch, Cimusz homered in four-of-five games (Tulsa, Sam Houston, at No. 2 Alabama, Miami Ohio) https://texassports.com/news/2022/3/8/softballs-katie-cimusz-named-big-12-conference-player-of-the-week.aspx
  2. Let me pinch hit for @zlavydra who always posts this. He may be busy preparing for trip to SCar. PROBABLE STARTING PITCHERS Tuesday: TXST: RHP Trevis Sundgren (1-0) vs. UT: RHP Andre Duplantier II (2-0) Wednesday: TXST: TBA vs. UT: TBA ABOUT TEXAS STATE The Bobcat are coming off a historic weekend as the team claimed its first-ever road series over a ranked opponent in program history after winning the final two games against then 11th-ranked Arizona. Dalton Shuffield continued his hot hitting and enters the week leading the team in batting average (.452), hits (19), RBI (15) and home runs (3). John Wuthrich comes in batting .375 with a team leading 14 runs scored. Both he and Jose Gonzalez are a perfect 5-for-5 stealing bases. Other players batting over .300 are Cameron Gibbons and Isaiah Ortega-Jones at .356 and .348, respectively. Slated to start on Tuesday is Trevis Sundgren. The senior is 1-0 with a 2.79 ERA and seven strikeouts in 9.2 innings. Last season against Texas, he threw five innings with three strikeouts and allowed just one run on three hits. Wednesday starter has yet to be announced.
  3. Louisville is always pretty salty. Midweek road game, 11AM start, 43 degrees. As you state, early, and really too early to consider. But for conversation purposes... 4. Gonzaga sweeps OKSt with a 2-1 victory in game 3. Gonzaga looks very good, 9-2.
  5. https://okstate.com/watch/?Live=3237&type=Live OKSt vs Gonzaga, rescheduled game from Sun, 2PM, 37 degrees, 10 mph wind.
  6. Pierce did not mention MRI. Would think they would just for precaution. Hope just rehab innings until conference play. Interesting the Miss St ace reliever turned starter Landon Sims is injured with possible UCL. Sometimes it is best just to let them be, let the pros train them to be a starter if they desire.
  7. Clemson (11-0) swept SCar (7-4) this weekend. We are playing the wrong team in SCar. SCar (preseason #5 SEC East) appears to be another Alabama, College of Charleston (7-4) and The Citadel (8-3) may be stronger challenge though midweek games.
  8. Duplantier (coming back from elbow injury) threw 78 pitches on Tuesday and was brought in on 3 days rest. Big difference between bullpen and live game action especially when you are protecting the elbow. You saw the result. Stevens threw 100 pitches last night the most for a starter this year.

  10. Like @Js1, I thought we would lose both games decisively. Great effort. There is hope. 6 walks by Dolcini may have been the difference. Edit: Just noticed Dolcini threw 150 pitches in 5.2. Not good.
  11. AAS reported within days after Augie's dismissal Skip would not be considered. Only in fans' minds was he a candidate. Administration wanted a new slate.
  12. Gonzaga wins 2-1 in 10. Playoff baseball.
  13. https://okstate.com/watch/?Live=3236&type=Live OkSt/Gonzaga, 1-1 after 7. Just saw link.
  14. wrong thread
  15. K'd 10 in 5 innings. Read his bio, very highly rated, #17 Perfect Game top 100. 20th round Padres '21 draft. Vittello wisely shut him down after 81 pitches.
  16. Great game, Ladies ! Sophia Simpson's composure is off the chart.
  17. Weekend schedule. Miami (OH) is 4-6 with wins over Louisville, SCar. Alabama is 16-0, ranked #2. RPI is 10. https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/softball/d1/ncaa-womens-softball-rpi
  18. https://www.mlb.com/astros Scroll down mid page.
  19. https://therealstreamhub.site/index.php Bookmark the above. Scroll down, click NCAA, and the games will be listed tomorrow under Baseball. Other streams will likely be posted in the game thread. Do you have a TV provider or just stream ? If you have ATT, they have a dedicated channel 1758 on Uverse, not sure about ATT Direct TV.
  20. As previously discussed, Shea has Graves Disease which may affect her weight and physical conditioning. Remember when she was oft criticized for wearing sunglasses due to the disease. Personal opinion, but I think Graves Disease and this being her 4th year she has just lost the competitive spirit. Hopefully, she can contribute some meaningful innings. If you missed the below from the Baseball Forum, hope softball gets to use this equipment. Not necessarily all for strength, but overall flexibility and conditioning.
  21. Your RPI will be off the charts ! Vandy, ASU, Gonzaga, even Wright St normally has a respectable program. You may be aware, Gonzaga just swept Fullerton this past weekend. I really like Josh Holiday.
  22. Possible to get references from other parents, high school or college coaches ?
  23. True ! Also, Pierce needs to play Gash and O'Dowd a couple of innings in these blowouts for infield experience to backup Melendez and Daly in case of injury. Gash was rated by Perfect Game as top 1B in Texas. O'Dowd got 3 innings against Corpus. Not to mention Peyton Powell. No idea about the backup for Faltine. Perhaps Staley.
  24. Check the game threads. Streams often posted. MLB.com is schedule to telecast the entire Houston tournament.
