  3. Not really sure why, but it's up 80% over the last month
  4. A positive sign A top Senate ally of Donald Trump Mike Rounds poured cold water over the idea of negotiating a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine, saying the Kremlin couldn’t be trusted and would see any peace proposals as a sign of Western weakness. ❗️"As much as I would like to believe we can negotiate with a tyrant, I suspect we may be deceiving ourselves. Do you believe that this tyrant, if you offer him a part of a free country, do you think he’s gonna stop? I wish I could say there’s an easy way out, there’s not." Another quote from the article: The impassioned comments from Rounds, which he stressed were not the position of the incoming Trump administration, still represent a starkly differing view in the Republican party from Trump’s vows to broker a peace deal with Russia within days of assuming the presidency. They also reflect a pro-Ukraine view that is widely-held in the Senate Republican caucus even if other camps in the MAGA world are pushing Trump to cut U.S. military aid to Ukraine when he takes office in January. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/11/22/trump-ally-dismisses-talk-of-ukraine-peace-deal-00191366
  5. Just a reminder and refresher as these events will inevitably come back up in discussions of peace
  6. In Rostov-on-Don, the hospital is overwhelmed with wounded soldiers, forcing many to lie in the corridors, with some even on the floor. Soldiers are frustrated, complaining that instead of constructing an additional hospital, local officials are preoccupied with preparing New Year decorations.
  7. Yuriy "Shustryy" is a member of the 🇩🇪Leopard 2A6 tank crew in the 🇺🇦21st separate mechanized brigade. His crew cleared several forest strips from the enemy, withstood 12 hits and managed to leave the battlefield on its own. His tank broke through three forest strips, after which it came under heavy enemy fire. Everything was flying at the Leopard: shells, ATGMs and FPV drones. After several hits, the tank's gun failed, the EW station stopped working, and the observation devices were destroyed. The vehicle could only maneuver. The crew, practically "blindly" and under enemy fire, left the battlefield, broke through landings, and destroyed enemy positions. In total, the Leopard had 12 hits, but the tank returned to its own. "Thanks to our tank — it survived," says "Shustryy". 🎥 Oleksandr Pavlyuk
  8. These charts help put the current status of the Russian economy in perspective. It really does seem on the brink and higher interest rates aren't helping anymore ^1 year, 5 years: And just yesterday:
  9. BREAKING: Tucker Carlson reveals that he tried to set up a meeting between Speaker Mike Johnson and Putin prior to the House vote on Ukraine aid. “I told him - why don’t you just check with Putin?” Tucker wanted the Speaker of the House to run major decisions past Putin before voting
  10. Anytime remember the name of that annual thread where people post deals and gifts they're getting or giving?
  11. Good to see pressure continuing to come from this direction. In a critical editorial, Der Spiegel accuses German Chancellor Olaf Scholz of failing Ukraine by hesitating to send Taurus missiles, possibly for electoral reasons. The editorial stresses that Ukraine’s immediate needs are critical, and Germany’s hesitation could have disastrous consequences. Probably staged.
  12. Thread that goes into further detail
  13. And the pube on that pizza
  14. Probably bested only by Jake Sullivan on this count
  15. I think he meant "shut down" After looking into it more, the guy is reaching a bit on the nuclear power plant issues- there's no known connection to Russia that I've seen reported: https://yle.fi/a/74-20125647#:~:text=Two of Finland's five nuclear, safety has not been affected.
  16. To sum it up here are the "coincidences" of the last 2 days: - 2 underwater cables were cut (Finland/Germany and Lithuania/Sweden) - 2 nuclear reactors malfunctioned in Finland and were shot down, one on Sunday, the other on Monday - Norway's Massive Johan Sverdrup Oilfield Shut by Power Outage - Support cable of the Louhunsalmi suspension bridge broke in Finland, leaving 2 Islands almost cutt-off.
  17. So - according to Russian federal port records, the Chinese ship suspected of cutting the communications cables in the Baltic Sea was captained by a Russian citizen (one Stechentsev A.E.). Interestingly Yui Peng 3 was only transferred to its current owner in China earlier this month. The ship is carrying goods/oil from Ust-Luga in Russia, to Port Said in Egypt. Same captain also comandeered URSUS ARCTOS also carrying goods from Ust-Luga to Egypt. Mapped using @SensusQ. Full name should be Stechentsev, Alexander Evgenievich (Стеченцев Александр Евгеньевич). A person of the same name was found in Russian court records disputing missed pay from the company OOO "Albatros". That company provides services in the port of Ust-Luga. Our guy might have been a pilot for the intial part out of port or the full journey.
  18. Just another oopsies
