  1. Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov showed footage of a newly designed 'invisibility cloak' that Ukrainian snipers/SSO units can use to hide from thermal imagers and drones with thermal camera's. It only weighs 2.5kg and is protected against rain and high temperatures.
  2. Spoiler: That's Russian tech support. And they helped him.
  3. Oops. Send in the drones. Moscow authorities published the addresses of secret facilities of Russian security agencies Investigators from the "Dossier" center found on the website of the Moscow City Hall a document with the title "List of consumers of electric power (capacity), the restriction of the regime of electric power consumption of which may lead to economic, environmental and social consequences". It is there that the addresses of restricted facilities are listed. The list of special Moscow electricity consumers approved by Sergei Sobyanin includes addresses where employees of secret agencies are registered. Among them is building 91 on Profsoyuznaya Street. The document also lists specific apartments, presumably belonging to intelligence officers. The largest concentration of secret facilities is located in the Serebryany Bor, a specially protected natural area in the area of Moscow. There are military unit facilities belonging to the Foreign Intelligence Service, as well as plots intended for "defense and security" and "operation of a service dacha." The building in Stoleshnikov Pereulok, where the famous Jean-Jacques café is located, turned out to be somehow connected with the Federal Protective Service. In the border region of Bryansk, officials even noted a temporary mobile FSB station. And in St. Petersburg, the law enforcement agencies have several dachas in the most elite neighborhoods of the city. Such information is a state secret, and for the disclosure of addresses under Article 283 of the Criminal Code threatens up to seven years in prison. The file was placed in the section "Special Group" on the site of the mayor's office, now it is no longer available. The investigators also found similar files on the websites of the administrations of St. Petersburg, the Leningrad region, the frontline Belgorod and Bryansk regions, the Primorsky Krai, Kamchatka, Chechnya and North Ossetia. Also, the lists include addresses belonging to the Ministry of Defense and captions to them: "ammunition depot", "refueling point" and "storage facility". According to the investigators, the addresses of these facilities may already be known to the Ukrainian security services and could be used as potential targets for strikes. Therefore, the journalists created a map in which they indicated all possible potential targets for strikes, so that ordinary residents could understand the risks of living near such places.
  4. British Intelligence reports that Russia is heading for a defence spending of 30% of the total public expenditure in 2024, proposing a 10.8 trillion Rubles ($112 billion) defence budget which equals to 6% of the GDP and is a 68% increase over 2023. Russia is preparing for multiple years of fighting.
  5. For those who won't go there, I'll keep it above CR territory. In case you were wondering, the few on the far right who were holding everything up over Ukraine aren't happy about this. HOUSE DEM LEADERSHIP STATEMENT: "When the House returns, we expect Speaker McCarthy to advance a bill to the House Floor for an up-or-down vote that supports Ukraine, consistent with his commitment to making sure that Vladimir Putin, Russia and authoritarianism are defeated. We must stand with the Ukrainian people until victory is won."
  6. To train Ukrainians
  7. U.S. Intelligence has reportedly begun to observe a Significant Movement of Serbian Military Forces towards the Border with Kosovo including the Deployment of several Tank, Artillery, and Mechanized Infantry Divisions; National Security Advisor, John Kirby stated that we are now witnessing an “Unprecedented and Destabilizing” Development which could cause Conflict in the Region. Worth noting^
  8. A #Russian drone (I am sure of the origin) crashed near #Galati, 21 km from the #Ukrainian border into #Romanian land at 2.5 km from a town with a population of 270,000. #NATO air police are currently on high alert and flying fighter jets at low altitude. A second drone (sources tell me) was heard a few dozen minutes ago. Even if these drones are not intentionally sent by Russia against Romania, they may also have implications for observing Romania's response. At the same time, these drones are only arriving in #Romania because of the Russian Federation, the one that initiated this illegal, immoral, illegitimate and unprovoked invasion! Brăila (7.5 km away from the alleged site of the drone explosion) is a city with a population of 155,000 inhabitants, making the Galați-Brăila concentration the largest urban concentration after the Bucharest capital area. The Romanian authorities must respond firmly this time!
  9. That definitely seems to be the case. I can't remember if this was posted here yesterday:
  10. Western countries plan to increase weapon production in #Ukraine, as reported by The New York Times. According to the newspaper, yesterday's visit to #Kyiv by #NATO Secretary General Jens #Stoltenberg and the Defense Ministers of the United Kingdom and France is connected to these plans. Just have to give them substantial air defense in the meantime.
  11. Follow-up on earlier report:
  12. More of the story of the Ukrainian who fell out of the boat during the operation to disable air defenses on the oil rig. "I really wanted to live": the story of a special forces officer of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine who fell out of a boat and swam for 14 hours in the open sea. In mid-August, a fighter with the call sign "Konan" from the Artan battalion of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine was carrying out a special operation in the Black Sea. When the Defenders were returning back, an enemy Su-24 came on their trail. Trying to evade fire, their boat began maneuvering. That's how "Konan" ended up overboard. Shortly before that, the special forces officer decided to put on a life jacket and remove all his equipment, leaving only a diving thermal suit. In 20 minutes he was already 130 kilometers from the shore. The fighter admits that at first he panicked, but decided to swim. The landmark for him was one of the gas rigs, which was located about 20 kilometers away from him. "Konan" swam despite dehydration and fatigue. Only thoughts of his family added to his strength. At one point he saw a boat approaching. There were his brothers-in-arms who had tracked him down with the help of the Bayraktar. "The first thing I did when I felt the solid ground under my feet, I wrote a message to my wife, but I still haven't told her about what happened" - said the Defender in an interview with UP.
  13. Post it. I saw something about it yesterday but if I recall correctly it wasn't a source I was familiar with.
  14. Weird stuff happening: Edit: this and other issues were progressively resolved by refreshing the pages a few times
  15. I wonder if Ukraine intentionally detonated it or if it was just good luck. More information about yesterday’s Khalino military airfield incident. As per Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine: At the airfield "Khalino" in the Kursk region, a Ukrainian drone was landed by Russian electronic warfare systems on the runway. When the leadership of the aviation regiment and FSB officers arrived for closer inspection drone exploded. As claimed, the following were killed or injured during the explosion: → commander of the 14th aviation regiment; → one of his deputies; → a group of aviator officers; → a representative of the FSB military counterintelligence; → airport employees.
  16. Ukrainian forces chipped away another part of the Russian trench network, south of Robotyne, and reaching the outskirts of Novoprokopivka. Additionally, the Ukrainian army widened the control near Verbove, reaching at least the perimeter of the village. This also paraphrases that the primary Surovikin line in this sector has been clearly breached. While those tactical advances are interesting, more importantly are the strikes in the Russian-occupied areas such as Crimea, Melitopol and Tokmak. They continue to shape the operations, degrading the Russian capabilities and logistics on a strategic level.
  17. Watch this. No CR: If Biden isn't going to make a public case for supporting Ukraine, we need more ads like this
