  1. Roberts wants to cement the legacy of his Court as worst all-time, one-upping the Taney court’s protection of slavery by enabling the total destruction of democracy.
  2. If by guillotines you mean memes, sure. There will be memes. Devastating memes. Memes as far as the eye can see. Oh, what memes! Either an election boots out Trumpism, or nothing does. And I’m not saying simply winning an election will be enough. If Trump maintains power past January, we’re probably fucked. His people will believe/go along with anything he says, and the rest aren’t prepared to do anything of consequence. Hell, some (Joe Rogan, b_t, anastasis) will justify their effective fellow travelling as usual. It may come down to the military and/or the secret service. The people are doing jack shit.
  3. Switching comedies, I do believe Trump is doing a slightly better job than Ben Chang would do, but Annie's Boobs would do better than both.
  4. This isn’t a revelation. What would qualify is why anyone with any sense still engages with the guy.
  5. The guy who first said “may you live in interesting times” can go fuck himself.
  6. For standing too close? Doubtful.
  7. Offensive touching is a Class C misdemeanor, as in traffic ticket level. Jails are emptying. Probation offices are shuttered. Ain’t nobody got time for nonsense tickets, no matter what noise DA’s like the one here in Montgomery County is making about severe enhancements for offenses during this crisis. if a cop witnesses something, maybe. But when this is all over JP and municipal courts will be backlogged like the others (no evictions for 2-4 months at least). Self-help is your best deterrent. As in stay home.
  8. The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it.
  9. Despite all the shocking developments of the past 3 years, I’m still floored that Bill Fucking Kristol tweets multiple times a day and I agree with every damned one of them.
  10. They know nothing but the simple con.
  11. He shouldn’t be nominated, and I doubt he’d want the job, anyway.
  12. Hopefully the princess of Florin isn’t kidnapped and murdered. I fear there will be great suffering in Guilder if she dies.
  13. Not saying I would do it, but a concerned government could do it knowing it would be later invalidated. See, Lincoln, suspension of Habeas Corpus.
  14. Sheila Jackson Lee or Corinne Brown for the lulz.
  15. They’re useful tools of intimidation.
  16. You mean besides two chicks (dudes for those so inclined) at the same time, right? I would do nothing. Except maybe roll back bankruptcy rules, make the corporate tax cut a flat, no deductions, no carry-forwards, 18%, lift the cap on the payroll tax, triple the EITC, lower Medicare to age 55 and let everyone else buy in for $200 /mo. with that number tied to inflation, raise the national minimum wage to $12 hr. with that number also tied to inflation, require all employers to provide 3 weeks paid leave (5 for part-time workers), redefine “independent contractor” to not include any job that pays, if full-time, less than the poverty rate, require all school districts to expand schools to include pre-K within 5 years, increase the gas tax by $1.00 and spend an extra $500B per year on roads and trains (at least 20% on trains), build a bunch of nuclear power plants and decriminalize all fucking drugs, requiring all states provide an easy and low-cost procedure to clear drug convictions from not just people’s records, but the internet, too. So maybe not nothing.
  17. Lol. SCOTUS will back the blue not me and you.
  18. There you go again! We were lost when Ronnie didn't pick Jerry Lewis to be his VP.
  19. It's better than we deserve, in reality, so we should all complain less about the shitshow this country has become.
  20. I think they'll be fine. A lot of pundits this it's still 1988. Pundits speak to the engaged, especially the junkies. It's the anchors, headline writers and memers that reach the rest. The Buckley / Vidal debates were notable, but it was Cronkite that reached folks consistently. Bernie's gonna need his army out getting folks to read past the byline. WTF am I saying, they need to get folks to read, period. That should give you and your fellow trav..., eh activists reason enough to tone down the hate in your proselytizing.
  21. Things you want us to be patient with may not actually get us riled up. I'm probably not alone among the skeptical who usually know what he's really saying even hearing only a breathless, pearl-clutching snippet pulled to feed the outrage machine. I think a bunch of us know that campaigns are won by feeding that machine, and Bernie has enough to power it for a couple lifetimes. It sure looks like we're gonna see if things are so fucked up that enough Dem-inclined voters will not be deterred by the tag that Dems have been tirelessly avoiding for 70 years.
  22. That last part is huge, and really undermines everything the progressives lining up behind him want to accomplish. No chance any meaningful legislation gets passed. And if Dems lose ground in more state legislatures, good luck holding/retaking the HOR again after the post ‘20 census gerrymandering spree. Oh, and watch RBGs seat remain vacant until Ivanka gets in after the ‘24 backlash.
  23. He thinks Joe Rogan independents/apathetics will carry him to victory.
  24. His candidacy has the greatest chance of actually getting some “more liberal” and “very liberal” folks to stay home.
