  1. Going to change up my expectations some and just hope the Horns survive with a W on Saturday. Going to be some rust, and getting back to hitting and settling the nerves, and that's just the fan bases.
  2. Great breakdown of the tOSU offense last year. don't know that a freshman qb has the maturity that Howard showed. That Texas D flew around, and only had a couple of lapses. Bend but don't break and pressure tOSU's youth at play caller into mistakes. They're going to happen, so capitalize, especially in the rush to get the ball out to Smith or a receiver into disguised coverages. Above all, hopefully, Texas can bring pressure up the middle with the line. Linebackers and safeties, Simmons--great, but really think the pressure up front will break teams, and this is the best opportunity to test what Texas has in the middle. The Horns have depth there, does tOSU? However, on the flip side, I really have no clue what the Longhorn offense is going to look like in action. What a game for both qbs to cut their teeth in.
  3. That schedule looks like potentially 6 losses easily. As pointed to, depth is thin and they got a bunch of weekly dog fights.
  4. I just haven’t seen any reports mentioning him anywhere. edit: see him and Stewart listed. Filthy rb room.
  5. The Texas safety position is going unnoticed, while Downs is getting so much attention. That's a good thing, because Texas has some players there. There's going to be a lot of rust with both teams, and some acclimation going on. But Texas is blazing fast, and some are going to have to learn.
  6. What the hell happened today? One week away and building--let's not get rabid over game prep and words designed to keep people guessing, when the only absolutely need-to-knows are in the locker room gearing up for the final Saturday of August. Hook'em and let's all enjoy the last mostly free Saturday of summer.
  7. 31 in a quarter and last 5 minutes of the 3rd? Unreal.
  8. Kicked the ball right into the back of his own player.
  9. I don't think I've ever seen a meltdown of this calibre, where everything that can go wrong did. St Joseph's Prep is going to feel sick in about :19.
  10. Agreed. It’s about looking, being patient and not intrusive. Plus, it’s more peaceful and natural, which is kinda the point of being in nature.
  11. non sequitur I enjoy birding but more and more I see people with their phones playing birdcalls to attract tanagers and others. I’ve even seen cars playing the sounds over their stereos. I’m not a big fan simply because I can see how a bird could be to troubled by competition to provide and/or forage. Also I think it’ll drive some birds further away from areas that people use to see them. Saying this because I see this every time I go to certain parks. Thoughts?
  12. I'ma laugh like hell when ASU beats them two years in a row.
  13. I saw that—just didn’t know why the big discrepancy in price.
  14. What gives--just checked Amazon: Nike SB Janoski+ Slip Skate Shoes (FN5893-800, Monarch/Monarch/White/Black) $123.75 + $8.92 S&H
  15. Curious to see how Bama does this year. A bad year, and they may be ass for the foreseeable future. I can’t imagine recruits sticking.
  16. Super funny. But, it’ll have a better chance of becoming one if people believe.
  17. To get better and win. Always trying to work on getting quicker, technique, and experience which you can't do sitting out. Competition is a tough monkey to get off your back too. Usually, it takes several serious injuries post peak to convince players to hang it up, if they even get that opportunity.
  18. Any news on how Simon's progressing at RB?
  19. Shhh. Don’t ruin the ending.
  20. Has an Austin Butler vibe, NTTAWWT. We’re gonna run the Elvis package.
  21. Texas beat a team with 2 Heisman winners: https://trojanswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/trojans/football/2025/08/14/2005-usc-football-played-best-games-21st-century/85621940007/. After surviving the scare in South Bend, USC rolled through the rest of the regular season, advancing to face Texas in the national championship game. There, the Trojans dropped a 41-38 heartbreaker to the Longhorns in what is widely considered to be the greatest college football game of all-time. Naturally, it came in at No. 1 in the rankings. Here is what Ubben had to say about the showdown: "USC had two Heisman winners in its backfield and was riding a 34-game winning streak, eyeing a three-peat as a touchdown favorite. The back-and-forth battle ended with Vince Young skating inside the pylon on fourth-and-5 to put the Longhorns up with 19 seconds left. Young finished with 267 yards passing and 200 yards rushing and a trio of touchdowns. "USC coach Pete Carroll called it the greatest individual performance he’d ever seen. It was also the highest-rated BCS game ever and was Keith Jackson’s final game in the ABC booth. It is the standard by which all other games in this century are judged." Almost two decades later, USC fans still recall fond memories of the Bush Push, and are still heartbroken by the Rose Bowl loss to Texas. The lasting impact of those games highlights their significance within the fan base, and why they are rightfully considered to be two of the best college football games of this century, if not of all-time. Pretty, pretty good year.
  22. And if they didn't play tOSU, we'd hear constantly how Arch hasn't played against many stout defenses. They're playing, we'll get a treat to see who is legit, and the loser burns through their schedule in the hopes of a rematch down the road. It'll happen early, but both teams will see areas to work on for their season. And while one team will have an edge, the other will have a chip.
  23. No chance JMF would've stood by on the player sidelines next to the coaches and let his son ride pine for 2 years.
  24. From 202, and not checking stats: X’Avion Brice, Corner at UNT Derrick Brown, LB at Texas State.
