  1. According to the Reagan administration, ketchup is a vegetable.
  2. Lol. ”Habba did not immediately respond to a request for comment about what the exact model of the laptop was, how often she games on it, or if Trump has ever watched her play on it.”
  3. Yes they are. I don’t see much of a distinction. Try doing that with a russet potato. I’m down with the little cubes. Always seen them called home fries. I love hash browns but home fries are easier to make at home. Here I mixed red and yellow skin potatoes. The omelet came out wedge shaped but the homemade chipotle sauce came out great. This omelet came out better. But I was running out of sauce.
  4. That’s the way. I say “crispy, not brittle.” The Waffle House I usually go to gets my order right. Other places can be a gamble. But usually I get it the way I want it.
  5. Yep. Kept his mouth shut so he could tell it in his book. Which I don’t think sold all that well.
  6. John’s back! After five months off, he had an extended intro. And it’s gold. I’m surprised this is still up. Maybe they’re making an exception for this one or maybe the people whose job it is to get full episodes removed from YouTube have gotten out of the habit. Usually they just leave the main stories up. Anyway, as always, this is very NSFW.
  7. Just a reminder, the writers strike is over and the late night talk shows are back. In case, like me, you want to get your Colbert on tonight. I forgot about John Oliver’s return last night.
  8. I don’t know. I despise James Franklin as much as anyone but I think that’s debatable. They weren’t in the victory formation. They were spread out and the QB was in the shotgun with just the RB next to him. The RB took off as soon as the ball was snapped. No one on defense reacted as though they thought the play was dead. The announcers debated it. One said they were faking a kneel-down and a flag should’ve been thrown. The other suggested that maybe he was just faking a QB run. I’m not sure about that take. I could see that they might’ve been faking a fumbled snap. Either way it was a weird play. The refs didn’t have a problem with it. And the score was 34-13 so the extra TD covered the spread keeping them perfect on the year. (I was fine with that.) After watching their games at both Illinois and Northwestern I can say I’m glad to see that Drew Allar plays a lot worse on the road than he does at Beaver Stadium. Hopefully that remains true when the Nits visit Columbus in a few weeks, their next road test. In fact it’s their next test period. They’ve got a BYE this week and then just UMass next week so they’ve basically got three weeks to prepare for their trip to the ‘Shoe, which of course is a noon kick. They tend to get prime time white outs when the Bucks travel to Happy Valley but I’m not bitter about that disparity at all. (Fortunately that wasn’t the case last year.) Anyway, here’s the play for everyone’s consideration:
  9. Did they tell him to turn it off and then turn it back on again?
  10. If you can’t trust Sam Bankman-Fried, who can you trust?
  11. Really? That’s news to you? That the standards at some programs are much higher at some programs than at others? You think the players Deion inherited at Colorado were putting in the same amount of time and effort in the weight room, at practice, and on their own time? Showing up at all the “voluntary” workouts, etc?
  12. If they can’t cut it, they can’t cut it. That’s their choice. Hard work is the “encouragement.” Sounds like the same kind of encouragement Bo gave his players. He ran off around 70 players. That’s more than Deion ran off. No one criticizes Bo, though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irqM7BHhlKc&t=19m5s
  13. First, so what? He transformed the program. According to Deion in an interview with Erin Andrews that aired on Big Noon Kickoff, he only sat down with 20 players and told them there was no future for them at Colorado. The rest quit. When Bo Schembechler arrived at Michigan, he worked his team so hard that there were players walking off the practice field and quitting every day. He hung a sign in the locker room that said, “Those who stay will be champions.” It still hangs there today. He’s revered for it. What’s the difference? Deion didn’t invent the transfer portal. He’s just using it to great effect. Last year is completely relevant when talking about Colorado. He’s the coach and this is his team. Oh, he’s nothing special as a coach, he just brought in good players? Nick Saban says hi. Isn’t that the path most successful coaches travel?
  14. This would be unprecedented. I found this: No speaker has ever been removed in this manner If a resolution were to pass, the House would enter into unchartered waters of making new precedent. Under continuity of Congress procedures enacted after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, there is a list of people who can act as speaker pro tempore in an event where the speakership is vacated. This was created in anticipation of a mass casualty event like a terrorist attack, but it would apply if the speakership is vacated. The irony is that list is written by the sitting speaker — so McCarthy knows who is on the list — and it is kept by the House clerk and only to be made public in the event of a vacancy. https://www.npr.org/2023/09/30/1202713718/kevin-mccarthy-motion-to-vacate-gaetz-house-speaker
