  1. Gotta fucking catch that.
  2. Damn got down here for the first time since early December. A combination of wind, fires and just pure neglect left her as filthy as I may have ever seen her. Scrubbed her up as best I could. Can't let that happen again.
  3. The Central Valley is quintessential California, especially for millionaire ballplayers
  4. https://www.mlb.com/news/tanner-scott-dodgers-contract?partnerID=mlbapp-iOS_article-share Dis gon be good
  5. Damn, Sark to the Cowboys! https://www.sanfranchronicle.com/insider-steve-sarkisian-agrees-to-3year-contract-with-dallas-cowboys-zpbhnb
  6. They finally did a soft opening for residents. You can't stay, but you can get things. Gas Co was on our street so had the gas turned back on. We have water, but they say it's not safe to bathe or even do dishes in. Grabbing some clothes and a few other things. It all has to be washed in order to wear it. A neighbor of ours who's in the entertainment business put this together
  7. This is a pretty crazy lineup
  8. Last Wednesday when I was at my house while shit was burning, a water dropping helo flew right over our house and did a drop one street up on a burning house. It was a shitton of water.
  9. This shit pisses me off to no end. Some people are just lower than low. We know a couple of people who have tried to apply for FEMA aid online, and they've gotten a response "there is already an application for this address". Yep, scammers filing FEMA claims on addresses they find online. Motherfuckers. Both have gotten it straightened out over the phone, but fuck man.
  10. Pasadena Humane Society is doing heroic work right now. Foosters beat me to it.
  11. All of you offering to help gives me faith in humanity. You don't know these people. Shit you don't know me. But the complete and utter devastation our community suffered is absolutely incomprehensible. By no means should you feel obligated, but if you want to help and want to make sure it goes to people in need and not scammers or charities that eat half of the donations in "administrative costs" here are 2 GFMs of people who are very close to us. One is the family of my daughter's best friend the other is one of my son's good friends. Both lost their homes and are really just lost right now. This surly community of assholes can sometimes just blow me away. Hell, this was the first place I shared my cancer diagnosis after telling my wife. It really helped me emotionally. https://gofund.me/e4dcdad0 https://gofund.me/5bd31237 Love to you all.
  12. Pretty good piece on LA by Keith Morrison.
  13. That’s so funny. We built jumps to ride our bikes over. I snapped my huffy in half doing it, and convinced my parents I needed a diamondback (when they were awesome). It got stolen 4 days after I got it. LA is a serpent. So enticing, and so hellish. I’ve lived here my whole life. I can’t quit her just yet. And probably never will.
  14. I’m just broken. I have it so much better than most. But our community is lost. And that is crushing.
  15. Last I heard there were 7,000+ structures in Altadena destroyed, and over 5,000in the Palisades. It’s incomprehensible. I’m shook.
  16. Right to the gallows. We know two families whose house survived but they were robbed. I was talking to a National Guardsman who wouldn’t let us up to our house who said they were guarding against looters and I told him he has my permission to shoot them in the head. He laughed. I didn’t. Anyone who takes advantage of the most downtrodden should be removed from our society.
  17. I am so damn fortunate to have such good friends. My family is now settled into my dear friend’s parents house in Hancock Park that I grew up hanging in when I was just a boy. They just moved his 93 year old dad out and were starting to prep it for sale, but my dear friend (I was his best man and we’ve been friends for I guess almost 50 years) insisted we move in and his siblings were equally adamant. We don’t have a kitchen as they have it ripped up but who gives a shit. Our animals are settled, we have a place to sleep, and we’re in a great place. We may be weeks before we can go home. And I had another lifelong friend and his wife who we love dearly bring us a bunch of clothes because we have just a few things. We hav e it so much better than those who lost their homes that I feel guilty. But my job is to take care of my family and my friends allowed me to do that. And it’s kinda cool to be back in the hood I used to ride my bike around and see all my friends. I had two other dear friends on this street when I was a kod. Damn our family is exhausted from this.
  18. I’ll probably get torched for this post (bad timing for that comment) but you guys had a great season. No, it didn’t end with a national championship, but that only lands on one of 133 teams. You were one of the very best. Be pissed you lost. I get that. But be proud that you got to the semis. That’s hard to do. Very hard. And you guys are set up for long term success. I wish we had 1/4 of the resources you have. You may very well be here next year. That’s something most of us only dream of. You are positioned to do it.
  19. Exactly. I have a lot of survivors guilt. Why did we get so lucky? But we didn’t get that lucky. Our community is decimated. I’m numb.
  20. They should be fine. The winds are mellow. They’ll contain it to the hills.
