Fort Worth is exploding
Better said, Dallas retreads and chains in downtown/central. Del Frisco's Double Eagle, Bob's Steakhouse, The Capital Grille, Texas de Brazil, Eddie V's, Ruth's Chris, Silver Fox, etc. seem to be where lots of business meals happen. And that's usually what I'm doing when I'm in Fort Worth. I love the old standbys like Angelo's, Railyard, Joe T's, Cattlemen's Steakhouse, and The Original Mexican Eats downtown. Sounds like there are more places that I should explore. Thanks for the comment.

Fort Worth is exploding
That's a shame about Reata, it was great before they had to move to the Caravan of Dreams spot after the tornado. I really miss the puffy tacos at Caro's on Bluebonnet Circle. Also the CFS at Massey's on 8th Avenue. It seems like many of the nicer places in FW are simply Dallas retreads.

Texas BBQ
Lamb shanks that have been brined with lots of garlic and rosemary would fit the bill.

Cold pizza and hot, black coffee is where it is at for breakfast.- THE College Football Playoff Rankings Thread [MICH,WASH,TEX,ALA]
Don't confuse playing aggy football with earning a degree from aggy.- What the fuck is wrong with you, Austin?
Burnet Road just morphed into 1325. Pretty sure that Parmer didn't extend that far west. It was all just a bunch of dairy farms out that way until IBM built their plant in the mid 1960s (to build Selectric typewriters -- very high tech!). Gracywoods is named for the Gracy family that had a big dairy operation out that way. @Armybrat may have a better recollection than me -- he was driving cars and chasing tail when I was still riding on a yellow school bus!- ABC -KVUE contract dispute
Even better, you can join the game thread while listening to the Craig Way game call and totally avoid the TV broadcast numb nuts.- What the fuck is wrong with you, Austin?
1st, 19th, 26th, Town Lake, Interregional, Old Dallas Highway, Old 183, Reagan, Lanier, and Johnston high schools -- I'm just a simple caveman.- Hunting ‘23/‘24: Bag ‘em and Tag ‘em
Not that you are wrong, but what Gus actually said was: "The only healthy way to live life is to learn to like all the little everyday things – like a sip of good whiskey in the evening, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk, or a feisty gentleman like myself.”- What the fuck is wrong with you, Austin?
Pro tip: If Bill Bunch is for it -- oppose it.- Texas -- a failed state
See above. My work funded this stuff. Santa Claus is a myth.- Texas -- a failed state
Good point. I'm sure that I'll do the highest deductible plan that I am allowed to! And don't forget the fact that there has been a shit ton of money paid into that plan by my employers (mostly me since I turned 40 or so and always ran my own shit) paid in to support this scheme.- Texas -- a failed state
Negs alone do little to advance any discussion.- Texas -- a failed state
Thanks. That might have been a bit bit harsh on my part! I still have a hard time with having the government playing such a big role in basic healthcare. Do you really need to file an insurance claim for every oil change and tire rotation on your car?- Texas BBQ
Similarly, we had Big Al's on Inwood in Dallas cater a party for us. Not Franklin's, but they did a great job.- Texas -- a failed state
Not following your argument. I see 2010.- Texas -- a failed state
Obamacare, much?- Texas -- a failed state
Really? All those folks can't afford healthcare without Big Daddy?- Texas -- a failed state
Thank you, Penelope, for letting the board know that I am polite and respectful to other Surlyites that I may disagree with in my (supposedly/anticipated/expected) private conversations.- Texas -- a failed state
Thank you so much, Penelope!- Texas -- a failed state
I don't think so. Not a guest. I've been around for at least the last two boards. That said, that isn't a bad thing for somebody to say.- Gumbo
We are gonna need a menudo thread for this pot!- Hunting ‘23/‘24: Bag ‘em and Tag ‘em
