  1. Watching replays this morning. Texas has some large, quick, fast humans wearing Burnt Orange this year.
  2. Hard to decide which one is better: https://www.shaggybevo.com/
  3. Good to hear. Looked a bit spendy when I first saw the menu. May need to try.
  4. Yet all of those pics are on Southern Living's top 50 BBQ places list! Gack!
  5. Nice when a plan all comes together! LFG, indeed!

  7. I think that a similar sized Judge is around $750. But we've never had to replace one.
  8. I've mentioned the Judge Feeders that we use. Very solid, but not inexpensive. http://judgefeeders.com/
  9. He's not gonna get any bigger, I'm thinking.
  10. What would move a person to think that this would be a good thing to put this into their mouth?
  11. Errybody knew that this kinda stuff was gonna start to happen: It’s Not Looking Good for Downtown Austin’s Conrad Hotel Tower Plan https://austin.towers.net/its-not-looking-good-for-downtown-austins-conrad-hotel-tower-plan/?pro=jude@towers.net
  12. Ben's Long Branch used to have mutton. Sam's still does sometimes. You just gots to eat it while it's hot!
  13. Sounds like it is time to turn on the bat signal for @Nicole44
  14. That, and maybe the fact that there are only two briskets per head that you slaughter?
  15. It's funny how this brisket fetish has turned things on its head. Way back in the day Texas butcher shops started smoking meats (like brisket) that were otherwise unpalatable and that they had a hard time selling. The same thing happened when fajitas became mainstream. Cheap flank/skirt steak is no more. Same with beef and lamb cheek meat. Perhaps it is time for more mutton!
  16. Agree on Mattie's. I've been to many events and dinners at Green Pastures over the years. Avenue B and Phoenicia are the only two I've not visited.
  17. Or wondering why the helicopters are out flying, or whether they are hearing gunfire or firecrackers -- and don't all of you bad people know that firecrackers and other fireworks are illegal? So much Karening!
  18. I thought that this piece did a pretty good job of identifying the great places in Austin that we haven't (yet) lost. Get out there and support them! I still miss El Azteca the most! https://austin.eater.com/maps/classic-restaurants-austin-historic-places
  19. The late, great RGB says "holla"!
  20. Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty together at around 1:36:00
