  1. Full context:
  2. Restrictions upon holding any interest in individual stocks while in office might be a backdoor way to implement term limits.
  3. "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers"
  4. That is a solid place. We've been half a dozen times over the years. Good mix of Tex-Mex, Interior Mex, and seafood options. Also a popular place for kids/group meals for little league/soccer teams and such. Outdoor play area occupies the short people pretty well. P.S. -- The Mexican Martinis (limit 2!) served in the shaker are top notch.
  5. Same here. No telling what temperature it will happen at -- but there is always a stall.
  6. Looks amazing. Wrong thread, though.
  7. Speaking of the CVCs, I agree that many of these could be revisited -- this piece has some pretty good graphics of all of them from different perspectives: https://austin.towers.net/see-downtown-austins-capitol-view-corridors-in-eye-popping-3d/ See Downtown Austin’s Capitol View Corridors in Eye-Popping 3D
  8. I'd not heard of this accident until after his death. https://buffettworld.com/incidents/widgeon-seaplane-crash/ On Thursday, August 25th, 1994 around 3:00 pm Eastern time, Jimmy Buffett crashed his Grumman G-44 Widgeon, N1471N, while attempting to takeoff in the waters off Nantucket, Massachusetts. The airplane nosed over, and Jimmy was able to swim to safety, sustaining only minor injuries. Buffett credits his survival to Navy Survival Training he had to complete before being able to ride in an F-14 Tomcat from the deck of an aircraft carrier. NTSB Narrative: At the time of the accident, Buffett had about 1,500 total hours, including 400 in multi-engine aircraft and 190 in the Widgeon. Grumman G-44 Widgeon. 9. I went to a great Friday night Texas/OU party up somewhere in North Dallas back in the day. The hosts of the party had "won" the bartending services of Wally Pryor for that evening's party at a Texas Exes fundraising event. Wally was a blast, but I'm guessing that most of the drinks he mixed were his own!
  10. Marketing genius. He and his buddy JJW (with a hat tip to JJW's wife Susanna, who also seems to be very savvy) made a point of holding their music rights at their own record labels. JB kicked it up another notch with his licensing agreements with restaurants, resorts, and the 55+ retirement community. He was a very smart guy and a pirate at heart. RIP to yet another pirate gone too soon.
  11. I read all of that in an Dale Gribble voice.
  12. I brought home a bunch of prickly pears weekend before last -- my son is doing some kind of tequila brew with them. IDK how that will turn out, but if I don't die, I will let y'all know about it.
  13. I just wish that there was some way that I could say "Thanks for the gang bang" without violating "the rules" about needing to post pics about this subject! So many negs, so little time. The group-think in this place on this subject is beyond dumb. People are not going to sell/surrender their lawfully owned guns. Criminals are always going to have access to guns. Imprison/Execute or otherwise keep criminals away from the rest of society. Keep legal citizens armed and secure. Stay safe, kids.
  14. Does C-Man have some alter ego's? It doesn't matter -- I'm happy to debate with all of them.
  15. Have some rep. IDGAF.
  16. You seem like a smart guy, and very knowledgeable about insurance things, but you seem to be blinded by Dem party theology. There has got to be more to that story.
  17. Let's take this up in person at Lee Harvey's on the Friday before Texas/OU.
  18. You may disagree with me on many subjects, but I am no troll. I go to Surly events. I'll tell you my handle. Many know my name. Hook 'em!
  19. Despicable deflection from what anybody was talking about. Some fool was talking about me being a troll up the thread Slavery on a gun thread in 2023. Nice!
  20. Put those Meatheads to work before it gets too hot tomorrow!
  21. Thanks, errybody. I DGAF about rep, but I enjoy debate and would like to honestly discuss the difficult issues that we deal with in our country. I seem to be swimming upstream against the prevailing political orthodoxy here. Great that Texas Football starts on September 2nd! Hook 'em!
  22. I heard Biden say some of that shit last week. "How fucking stupid do you think we are?" https://www.stripes.com/theaters/us/2022-09-02/biden-bungled-talking-point-ar15-muzzle-velocity-7193450.html#:~:text=A 9mm handgun%2C the most, faster than the 9mm handgun.
  23. Man -- that is a two way street. Other counties should chime in. Sill pissed about the Austin vacant homeless hotel in Williamson County.
