Sessions BBQ is still putting out awesome stuff, even with a new smoker and trailer set up to handle more business. If you are around Dallas, you need to head out past Rockwall on Hwy 276 and FM 548.
I don't think the owner gives much shit about their sides. I don't like any of them. His wife throws out some decent desserts but that's about it. Then again, I don't go there for sides or dessert.
Got a fairly quick 3 man limit yesterday and then promptly sunk/flooded my Rhino while trying to get to the other end of my property to put corn out. Luckily I have a neighbor that has a Humvee that he likes taking through the mud and high water to get it out.

Got invited to a local place for my son to whack some does today. He got one early on but all the others we saw this morning were fawns. Saw some yearling bucks that got within 20 yards. He thought that was pretty cool. This was the first deer he quartered out by himself (with some guidance).
I was drug out to my Mother-N-Law's place today and looks like I'm not getting out of here anytime soon. I tried to get the game through Directv.com but it is blocked. Anyone have a link to watch to game online?
HELP......
Got this guy on camera last week. He was in the thick stuff because everything else is flooded. Hoping for the water to record a little and this guy hangs around.
Was it when Texas Monthly brought on Vaughn and he exposed some of the best places to eat BBQ? I think it brought on more competition that said "Hey, I can cook BBQ this style" and they knew there was a path to success in doing so.
I know that Pecan Lodge was in the Dallas Farmer's Market and was doing mostly catering with a very light lunch crowd on weekends only. Then Diner, Drive-Ins and Dives episode ran about his place and everyday since then he would run out of food while he was at the Farmer's Market. So if it weren't for triple D, would Pecan Lodge be the success it has today? I'm not sure word of mouth carries you as far as a Celebrity endorsement does like from someone like Vaughn or Fieri.
A couple hours early. That is the one thing I find wrong about Costco briskets is they are always on the big side. Anytime I can find a 10-12 pounder, I grab it. Hope you cranked the heat up and wrapped.
