Sorry, bad lighting on the pics of the brisket. Believe me, it is top notch stuff.
  5. Went out this morning solo. No dog, no kids or buddies. Just me and mother nature. It has been a long time since I hunted by myself. It's good for the soul. Ended up with a mixed bag of gadwall and wigeon. After the rain last night, the water was way up. Usually the spot where I park the rhino is dry and it was halfway up the tires this morning.
  6. Depends on how you are going to hunt. If from dry land and someone else is putting out decoys and retrieving dead ducks, then just warm clothes and gloves. If you and boy will be getting in the water, then waders will be needed. Other than that, a facemask, license, waterfowl stamp, steel shotgun shells and your shotgun.

If in the Dallas area, head east past Rockwall on Hwy 276 and FM 549 to Sessions BBQ. He has a new, bigger trailer and smoker to keep up with demand. Great central Texas style brisket and similar Lockhart spiced beef sausage. I haven't been disappointed yet in anything I've had there. Stopped by on Friday with one of my girls for a quick bite and it was on point again.
  8. Its smoked, just a dirty grill I guess.
  9. Sessions BBQ is still putting out awesome stuff, even with a new smoker and trailer set up to handle more business. If you are around Dallas, you need to head out past Rockwall on Hwy 276 and FM 548.
  10. Luckily all my gear was up at the camp.
  11. I wouldn't buy a vehicle from me either. You see how I treat them.
  12. Rhino in fine shape. Hogs last night and ducks this morning. A little slow since 400 mallards are sitting on the flooded grass farm 1/2 mile away.
  13. I don't think the owner gives much shit about their sides. I don't like any of them. His wife throws out some decent desserts but that's about it. Then again, I don't go there for sides or dessert.
  14. Where can on catch an episode of this iconic show?
  15. Got a fairly quick 3 man limit yesterday and then promptly sunk/flooded my Rhino while trying to get to the other end of my property to put corn out. Luckily I have a neighbor that has a Humvee that he likes taking through the mud and high water to get it out.
  16. Academy should have some on sale right now.

  22. It's the back quarter round that is cut through the bone. You can use any venison steak cut.
  23. KFC did it for me about 6 months ago. Use to crave KFC about once a month, but not since then.
