  1. Dominating performance. A far cry from most of the regular season, for sure. We're playing at a level I really didn't think we'd see again this year. The box score makes it seem we never were seriously challenged today, but there obviously were some nervous moments. All those walks were the main reason. Bregman's HR I felt was a big boost, despite it coming at 4-0.
  2. Lots of Slavic concern in the stands
  3. Despite the score, we're doing a fair bit of that. But the Bregman HR was big.
  4. They took away 44's first hit. Apparently they expect every 1B to be Trey Mancini.
  5. The booth so desperately wants a big inning here.
  6. Javier getting 5 Ks on 29 pitches can only mean some hidden Astros employee who's stealing signs in the outfield is also shining a laser in Twins batters' eyes.
  7. Twins strike out: shadows are tough Astros strike out: Gray is awesome
  8. Walked Bregman after the first four pitches to Altuve were all out of the zone...but two of them were called strikes. Of course, not really worth mentioning by the Lopez groupies in the booth.
  9. Simply dominated so far. Credit to Lopez for getting it done in a tough situation. Hopefully he'll be exhausted in his next start after that interview.
  10. A photo I wish I hadn't been able to snap:
  11. Any pitch an inch outside is a ball. So is any strike at the knees.
  12. They're out-pitching and out-hitting us so far. Aside from that, I see no real problem. I do think we have a multi-run inning in us tonight. Just need to keep Minny at 3 so it will matter.
  13. Probably. With this franchise, a home winning streak in October is a lot to ask for. But maybe we can defy the odds and scratch out a W.
  14. Bigger Saturday TOOTBLAN: Gunnar Henderson's misread "steal" sign or Abreu's failed saunter into second? Two very different fails, yet both spectacularly stupid.
  15. First pitch to his team is what Altuve has proved a master of clubbing. I've never seen anything like it.
  16. October is now part of Houston's regular season.
  17. Room for improvement there. But hey, a decent postseason so far for Senor October. In other news, has anyone every tracked the record for HRs on a team's first pitch of a game, postseason or otherwise? It's almost as if we've come to expect it from Altuve, which is beyond remarkable. The only people who seem not to realize it are opposing pitchers looking to get ahead with high fastballs. Meanwhile, Bregman's been getting a lot of close (or closer) shaves here lately. Wonder what's up with that. Giving up a HBP right in front of Alvarez seems unwise.
  18. While JV's finally getting on a roll in crunch time, Kershaw's compounding his October woes. LA of course has the firepower to win a wild one, but I sure hope they don't.
  19. Crowd noise made it sound like "Houston." Turns out it actually was "lutefisk."
  20. I've been in knots since kickoff in Dallas. Thrilled to salvage what we could today. Tip of the cap to aggy for helping.
  21. Brought Uncle Charlie to the park today.
  22. If you can slide to the dugout after finally hitting a homer in the regular season, maybe try it on a semi-wild pitch in the playoffs.
  23. All I want here is a Yordan bomb that destroys the batter's eye for Abreu.
