  1. Agree. Once Tucker went from buzzworthy phenom to everyday player, I kept waiting for him to take the leap into the stratosphere of iconic Astros...and he just never did. Didn't even seriously threaten to win a batting crown post-shift, as I felt sure he could have. Never (to my knowledge) became a rock of the clubhouse in a visible way. Didn't follow Yordan's lead and lock into a long deal with Houston. Didn't appear to engage with fans even 1% as much as they supported him. And he cemented all that by proving a pedestrian performer in October. I began to sense he cared only about a monster deal and not maxing out his game to earn one. That scramble for his 30th homer was perhaps a good example of playing for himself and not the franchise. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  2. Along similar lines, it took me way longer than it should have to realize "AGTG" wasn't some contraction of "AgTag."
  3. Common sense says the more pitches you see from a given source, the greater your comfort level and confidence. Even if you haven't been hitting them hard, recognition at least is simplified a bit. That counts for a lot, because it's so hard to hit a pitch you've never seen. As noted, Cimusz had a tremendous AB despite coming in cold. Not sure how often she'd faced Canady over the years, but she hung really tough and made solid contact. That's what you need from everyone in crunch time. And crunch time is exactly what this whole game will be. Strike early, play clean and light the tower.
  4. He's a slightly more experienced Michael Earley and a much less expressed Bucky McMillan. That's about all I have.
  5. I'd roll with Stewart, Goode and Cimusz at 6-7-8 and take my chances. Had we done that tonight, maybe we wouldn't have been trying to climb out of such a pit. We'll never know. Left unmentioned is that Joley's having a tougher series than I'd anticipated. Need her very best at the plate and at 1B tomorrow.
  6. Didn't play clean enough, to put it mildly. We really hit the ball better than they did, but so sloppy late. Didn't like seeing Cit in a tight spot.
  7. At least she's now seen a few pitches
  8. Cit hasn't been good. I'm disappointed White went there, but so it goes.
  9. Cam is showing some toughness, no matter what happens.
  10. Danger zone. Nothing in a gap. Bear down.
  11. I don't have as much faith in tonight's pitching as last night but waaaaay more faith in our hitting and D so far. Quick half inning here and then it's go time.
  12. Not having Goode right behind Stewie has made hitting Hunter an even worse idea.
  13. Grip it and rip it, girl.
  14. Against Canady you have to keep that runner off 2B.
  15. I'm a little edgy about this inning. And I'm a Cam fan.
  16. Getting much better cuts tonight. Much.
  17. She's showing consistency. She's lollygagged all year.
  18. I don't quite get that lineup move. But I'm glad we're hitting the ball and having better ABs in general.
