  1. Love him or not (I lean strongly to the latter), Kelvin Sampson continues to get some pretty elite guys to play solid D. He might not be running "Havoc," but his time at UH suggests his formula isn't attractive only to spunky developmental guys.
  2. Even If Shaka becomes John Wooden at Marquette or someplace else, that still doesn't mean Texas was wrong to send him packing. He failed spectacularly in Austin and has only himself to blame. We of course can blame him AND Patterson AND Fenves. None of this makes a direct case for Terry, but he's done a far better job for us than the fraud ever did.
  3. I anxiously await their counterpunch strategy to Ant Man spying Reed as the pocket collapses. Not sure the Elkster will have one.
  4. I remain pretty concerned about special teams, but not due to coaching in a direct sense. I suppose Auburn and Kern are what they are, but I'm hopeful both start much hotter streaks in B/CS. Bolden I love as a competitor and receiver, but he really needs to quit thinking he has to turn every punt in the shadow of our goalpost into a return score. One or more of those issues could easily be the death blow to our season.
  5. Portal him in.
  6. Helo sock confirmed
  7. Just a guess, but maybe triple coverage means some other receiver was a touch more open.
  8. I just love how spot on the booth is today. IMG_4161.mov
  9. Seems crazy, right? But stop and think about it. Even your avatar knows mules don't have wings.
  10. Ryan Day is Tom Herman with way more dye.
  11. We haven't been anything great against the spread this year. Plus, Kentucky has a decent D. Their whole team is banged up, but I still don't see our offense doing what it did against the Gators. Fortunately, all that really matters is getting out with a W and not having anyone seriously injured. One of OSU/Indiana is about to drop back a few spots, and I hope it's the Buckeyes.
  12. Give it up for the man. No matter his stat line, he absolutely is still the heart of this team.
  13. The last time I saw a Texas team with an offense this bad, our coach was...Rodney Terry.
  14. I struggle to name anything we do well.
  15. From the cool, breezy ridges of the Southern Appalachians: FIGHT!
  16. Texas scores 31, opponents get 13. Just under the spread I'm seeing. Teams combine for 589 yards.
  17. Even though "Texas was gifted the easiest schedule of any SEC school in the history of ever." (per the naysayers) Maybe being in the SEC helped perception more than actual development. But either way, it's great to see how many of our guys have made huge strides.
  18. One might argue that aggy entering the stadium is something very weird.
  19. If we decide to hit the portal for a young Sark-model RB, I wouldn't be disappointed with Isaac Brown from Louisville. Deadly on swing passes and quick hitters, with tremendous burst. Miami I suspect will try to get him back home to South Florida, so let's draw him west instead.
  20. Well, I don't want OB in Austin...but here we are.
  21. A bit nippy
  22. Which alone could cost us yet another chance at a title. I know it's early in the season, and players get winded pretty quickly in actual games, but we absolutely must dominate from the line. We have a bunch of players who will regularly draw fouls.
  23. I can't imagine putting F(f)rench dressing on Wing(o)s.
