  1. Anything you now write or podcast suggesting "horns down" is going to get clicks from the SEC knuckle draggers. The Lambo screams are just the latest iteration of that proven formula for media "success."
  2. Nice to see that the days of Stanford being able to lean on backgammon and whatever to bring home the cup are history. Three overall titles in four years is dominance. New sheriff in town. (Edit: And yes, I meant backgammon. Some of the obscure sports aren't much different from a board game.)
  3. This is great. Reading about the poors' new era of righteous indignation helps me pass the time between football seasons.
  4. I dare say nobody on Texags has had much more contact with longtime SEC folks than I have. I graduated from UT in 1978 and moved here to the Atlanta area in 1984. Over that time I've seen a lot of fan idiocy but can't say their view of the Longhorns has been clearly negative. Now, I'm hoping we can change that by wrecking shop in most sports and totally rearranging what SEC fans consider the natural order of things. But whether we win or lose, I think most of these folks will tend to remain focused on their traditional rivals. Can't say that for any of them that's aggy, as I never hear talk of them around these parts.
  5. If we're super serious about 2025, we won't be outbid for Canady. By anyone. Of course, she might stay put anyway, but the thing you simply can't do is concede her to another contender.
  6. Mentally destroyed. So with the number of really young players we have, I think the off-season starts with rebuilding that side of it. Too many girls played far too timidly for me to call it just a "bad couple nights." Of course, you also must throw the house at Canady. There's a good chance we'd have won with her despite our overall funk.
  7. First loss of the year when scoring first? That's because we left a bunch of runners on base. OU doesn't do that. i think this team might have tightened up as soon as Florida blew its 5-4 lead and let OU off the hook. I had a bad feeling then, and I'm wondering if our girls did, too. They're sure playing like it.
  8. Every mental mistake can be fixed, whether made by a player or coach. But you have to make it a priority. Seeing it potentially cost us a title should show how much it matters.
  9. That's the single stupidest play I've ever seen a Texas athlete make. We deserve to lose this game...and seldom think that way.
  10. Mitchell is really slow. Of course, lack of speed also kept Atwood from scoring earlier.
  11. Worst possible time for Dayton to forget how to hit. She's been uncompetitive, which is such a surprise and disappointment.
  12. So if Henry hadn't leaned away from a near HBP, we'd have had the tying runs on with Maloney up. You must be smarter than that. Again, details.
  13. Their pitching has been better against our young hitters than ours has against their vets. And our D hasn't matched theirs. So we've really done nothing to say we "should" be winning either game.
  14. We've left quite a bunch on base. They just got get three on and drove them all in. Thus are games won or lost.
  15. Two nights in a row a ball hit so weakly in that spot we couldn't get an out. Like one of those bunts we couldn't lay down.
  16. I'm hoping Henry grows out of it. She has the physical tools to be a multi-year All-America if she works hard on the details.
  17. We sure can strand us some runners. OU's power game is hard to beat with walks and singles.
  18. No business walking Hodge, regardless of the call.
  19. That pitch is a strike...unless they already have two.
  20. Staggering the % of runs they've scored on 2-run HRs.
