  1. Ugh. Let's not have our LF be a tee baller again today.
  2. I've been working in the yard 80 miles NW of Athens this afternoon and can confirm it's not a dry heat.
  3. I'm feeling a Notre Dame vibe. Really want to be wrong come signing day.
  4. If our lefties don't collectively bunt at least 6 times against her, we're just not paying enough attention. Might not be a bad plan even for Mia.
  5. Can't believe it took UF into the 7th to realize they were getting a steady diet of changeups, but it did. Ole Miss pitcher has been having to hit a strike zone the size of a postage stamp all day. She finally escapes in the 7th, so here we are in extras.
  6. Ole Miss up 3-1 middle 5th. If we end up facing them, just pitch around freshman Persy Llamas. She's had almost all of their key hits and RBIs yesterday and today.
  7. Maybe we've just learned to take HS recruiting with a more measured outlook. That's partly due to the twists and turns of the portal. I was so giddy about Bru finally making his way to Austin...only to have that short stay turn out to be a dud. I lamented missing out on Makuba...and then he ended up being a star for us. Still grind my teeth over some of the HS misses, but our program is bigger than any one player.
  8. Rothrock starting for UF today.
  9. Bri Ellis slam to end it. Monster bat.
  10. Pena covers for McCormick's whiff.
  11. LSU wins 5-0. So through the first four games of the tournament, only one losing team has even scored, and that was a grand total of two runs.
  12. Yes. Sounds like just our kind of guy on the culture side. Interesting that he started out in HS at Servite, which just produced two of the draft's first eight picks (Graham and McMillan).
  13. A bunch of players voting with their feet might send the AD a message. Maybe Fall's most likely to bolt, given that she's a SE Texas girl. Of course, Plotts is the obvious plum. Her being a hometown player from Lexington could make her a tough pull, but I'd love to see Texas try.
  14. Kentucky trails UGA 8-0 in the 5th after yet another stunningly bad error in a season full of them. The best play they've made today was an outfield assist by sophomore RF Peyton Plotts, who also has hit .335 this year (with power). I agree with @Js1 that she'd be a solid addition for us in 2026, were she to find her way down to Austin. She's way too good to stay on a team this bad.
  15. Any updates on Tyler Atkinson? Last I heard he was expected to give us an official, but I don't know if that ever got locked in. Maybe UGA or Clemson has lapped the field and I missed it.
  16. I don't follow the inner workings of the Texas men's team, but I can't imagine there being any great excuse for it being a relatively poor performer among our various sports. Someone please explain why it's so...and what it will take to fix it.
  17. Cant argue with you there. On the other hand, if losing to the White Sox in 7 after having a 4-0 lead hinges on ZD making a play, you might have bigger issues.
  18. You didn't think he was an idiot before then?
  19. Maybe not the right thread for it, but someone enlighten me on which of these many great HS track and field performers is Texas pursuing? I'm not sure where to find T&F recruiting info.
  20. What's the competitive set for this unofficial title? To me she's far less annoying than Stoops or Riley. Doesn't mean she's one of my favorites people, but my impression is that she doesn't really run her mouth. That said, the histrionics of many of her players have annoyed me greatly.
  21. No matter how shaky the ball/strike calls, I'm not blaming our inability to avoid walks or HBPs on anyone but ourselves. Solo HRs will rarely beat us. Make them put the ball in play.
