  1. I don't have as much faith in tonight's pitching as last night but waaaaay more faith in our hitting and D so far. Quick half inning here and then it's go time.
  2. Not having Goode right behind Stewie has made hitting Hunter an even worse idea.
  3. Grip it and rip it, girl.
  4. Against Canady you have to keep that runner off 2B.
  5. I'm a little edgy about this inning. And I'm a Cam fan.
  6. Getting much better cuts tonight. Much.
  7. She's showing consistency. She's lollygagged all year.
  8. I don't quite get that lineup move. But I'm glad we're hitting the ball and having better ABs in general.
  9. Those situations are the ONLY weak moments she's had. I mean, every hope against an elite player is a bit of a reach, but she's certainly not been as perfect under pressure as the rest of the time.
  10. As this one unfolds, watch what Canady does in high-stress situations. Down to one strike needed to close out OU, she gave up a tying 2-run HR to a #9 hitter with only two on the year. After being rattled by Hunter's foul bomb last night, she got in trouble and then failed to execute against Atwood. And as we know, she hit into a key DP in the first. So there might be a favorable trend here. Of course, we have to get her into stressful situations to start with.
  11. We got only 4 hits...but 3 in succession when it mattered most. Serious rally after a serious hosing.
  12. Soggy tortillas on tonight's menu. From rain and tears combined.
  13. Yes, talking the softball finals here, but Big 12-0 delivers some nice jabs. I'll award him every round on points.
  14. I slightly disagree. Had Kayden stolen home during that IW to tie it, THEN Reese blasted a 2-run dinger, it would have been an extra-nice chef's kiss.
  15. You know coaches across the land are thinking, "Man, I've got better hitters and fielders than Tech does. If we never gave up an earned run, she'd win her title here. Too bad we just don't have the money." So it still baffles me that we're not facing her in an Oregon uni this week. I guess ol' Phil simply doesn't care about softball. Maybe we'll confirm that after this series.
  16. Cimusz has shown power and some bunting skill, and she's seen way more live game action over the years than Hunter or Wallace has. (Brister's clearly not an option.) I've been on the KC train for weeks now and would love to see her get her shot tonight. She's just the kind of player who could make a positive difference.
  17. If there were any real loophole, I'm guessing White would have first exploited it in Game 1 against Clemson.
  18. You don't think they'd be aroused by his collection of Aaron Judge workout videos?
  19. I was too busy thinking about how someone said Reese needed to get out of her slump by taking a few walks.
  20. Yeah, cryptic at best. Certainly doesn't appear that her leg is about to fall off. Fortunately, she didn't get hurt (or out) tripping over Mike's foot as she barreled for home. Didn't miss him by much.
  21. Absolutely. Mia will go down as one of the best and toughest ever to take the field at McCombs. She's saved us so many times, whether with her bat, her glove or her legs. To think she's doing all this with a torn ACL is stunning. Maybe she'll change her mind and play some pro ball, but even if not, she's an undisputed Longhorn legend. https://www.si.com/onsi/softball/injuries/texas-softball-mia-scott-reportedly-playing-with-torn-acl
  22. The IBB that wasn't immediately brought to mind this memory from way back in the day. Yeah, I'm also old.
  23. After last night, it's hard not to project the historic nature of this unlikely run toward a title. But I can't let my mind go there yet. Miles to go before we sleep.
