  2. What if they were launched from a treadmill?
  3. Perales probably doesn’t care about, or even know what the Epstein Files are. Hate that he has to die for them.
  4. Sounds like the pro-EU folks are going to win in Moldova over the pro-old school communists/socialists/USSR fans. And Moscow is then fully prepared to try and generate violent unrest.
  5. Christmas is an odd way of saying “Mormons”. Also, a war on waterfront bars in North Carolina.
  6. He could try and end the war now and stay in power - he controls the state media and has absolute power, and no pesky Politburo breathing down his neck like they had in Afghanistan. But he’s sniffed too many of his own farts and thinks he can still win it. It’ll probably take the Russian people rising up and saying they are sick of it before he backs down, and hopefully Ukraine is able to accomplish that with attacks on the O&G infrastructure. The Russian people can tolerate a lot, but it’s 2025 and no gas combined with power interruptions will wreak havoc on the city dwellers. he backed down on sending fighters and a bunch of drones into NATO airspace so he is somewhat rational.
  7. Germans did the same shit to London in WWII, which benefited the RAF (they were hurting the RAF’s infrastructure and operations before they switched to bombing the cities, which gave the RAF some breathing room).
  8. With the Servant Girl Annihilator, you had America’s first serial killer and in hindsight it was clearly an active (local) serial killer when you looked at all of the victims. Yogurt Shop still felt possibly like a robbery or rape that turned into a murder/shitty attempt at covering up evidence.
  9. Putin knows the West will directly come gunning for him if he uses nukes, and China might smell blood in the water and act if they see him going down (it’ll be the best chance they have at reclaiming lost territories). Further, he will lose the ability to trade with any nation - nobody is going to trade with a nation using nukes to gain new territory, and risk the major economic powers embargoing them.
  10. Attacking apartment buildings, schools, hospitals, markets, that directly pisses people off. It motivates people. It does little to affect the military or the economy. Attacking oil and gas infrastructure hurts future military operations, hurts the economy. Fuel rationing for a population that is constantly told by state TV that they are winning…doesn’t feel much like winning, and if fuel restrictions increase, it will erode whatever faith is left in Russian leadership.
  11. Yeah want special bombs they have that could target Ukrainian leadership, I feel like have already been used. Or they couldn’t deploy because a lack of aircraft or not willing to risk said aircraft.
  12. It’s a 10-hour drive from Memphis. He does something in Tennessee and then drives west for a day?
  13. They can't exactly fake the DNA sample they submitted though (from the swab from the victim), nor can they fake the resulting hits in CODIS or the commercial services. CODIS is not something to be fucked with and has pretty strict controls - I've had friends in the genealogy community who do some of the genetic genealogy work that gets mentioned (not this case, but others) who have worked with this stuff. Even in a case where it's a partial match (i.e. a distant relative), the genealogists involved are going to drill down to get to whoever it is so that by the time it hits a courtroom or is closed, they have a match.
  14. NSIAP, I had to suffer through Hallmark movies over the years.
  15. Russian milbloggers think this was what recently shot down the Su-34
  16. https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1971489392729743480.html?utm_campaign=topunroll 2/ The Russian military correspondent Maxim Kalashnikov writes that he recently met air defence specialists who had been sent to fight in the infantry after spending the last two years crewing the Soviet-era Buk air defence system. 3/ "Professional air defence specialists in the infantry. Not convicts, not drunks, not ‘Sochi boys’. In other words, not deserters from the army. But in the infantry! Someone has to serve in the infantry too. 4/ "But not real air defence professionals who know the equipment inside out. So why are they in the infantry? Simply because there just aren't enough missiles for the Buk missiles. Often, there are just one or two missiles for every six vehicles. 5/ "Lately, they've been delivering missiles received from the navy. What this means, let the experts judge. And the General Staff strategists will be held accountable for the missiles and drones falling on Russian cities. That's how we fight." 6/ Kalashnikov doesn't explain why missiles are in such short supply, but the most likely explanation is that Ukraine's nightly waves of drone attacks against refineries and other targets have severely depleted Russia's stockpiles of Buk missiles. /end
  17. One double homicide at the time that they know of. I’m guessing he’s got more.
