  1. that's a good catch. 2 more plays
  2. this fair catch to start at 25 is weak
  3. 42 seconds. come on defense.
  4. when the WR is looking back for so long, why doesn't the DB also look back?
  5. I didn't expect the reversal.
  6. Since there are two slots for the title game (#1 and #2), your denominator should be 16, not 32. The percentages should add up to 200 to account for two slots.
  7. 😀 My mom is a frail, barely 5 feet, ~80lb lady. Nothing of her approaches 32B.
  8. Week 7 update. We didn't gain any land. Big change is ISU taking over WVU land. Our endowments have increased to 32B, but still second to ND.
  9. Yes, score is very definite on the winner and loser. But that is one data point. To extrapolate, one will add probability to it, which makes the data point fuzzy by a few points (say, one score), which is within our scoring margin. This means that we have been "lucky" falling within the right side of the fuzzy area, and statistically speaking, we are expected to fall on the wrong side of the fuzzy area in the future. If this happens, S&P would be right. But if we have an uncanny ability to predominantly stay on the right side of the fuzzy area, then there is something to our game plan, style of play, etc. that is outside the norm, and hence be an exception to normative team play.
  10. I think this is math vs human perception. We know all to well the perception of a team that wins by couple of points by scoring in the last seconds. The whole post game is about how this team is a winner, their players are amazing, their future is bright, etc. and the losers are the opposite; whereas in reality, it is a statistical tie. This dichotomy is so pronounced that I find it very amusing watching games when I don't have any rooting interest. But for the computer, not only is it a statistical tie, but the loser may have, in quantifiable terms, played better than the winner. But in the human poll, they lose 10 spots and the winner gains 5 spots, and the division is magnified beyond reality. All S&P is saying is that given a Baylor or Tulsa or KSU or God forbid, Maryland, we are a one score toss-up, or in other words, a statistical tie. Also, given an ISU, OSU or TTech, we are predicted to be, surprise-surprise, a toss-up. The difference of some toss-ups being above us is secondary effects.

    WVU - ISU

I don't think so. They are in the top half of Big 12.

    WVU - ISU

ISU is having its way with WVU DL.
  13. that was a push off with both hands. Clear foul.
  14. He injured while running for 1st down earlier (ESPN app)
  15. This game is rivaling the aggy-kentucky game.
  16. They are there. They own their own land in Ohio and also TCU land, PSU land, OrSU land, etc. You may be confusing the 2018 map with the 2017 continuation map, which treats 2018 games as a continuation of 2017 season. It is below. We also show up in this map courtesy of OU.
  17. Yes, the LEDs could be optional. Usually, the areas that lack water/irrigation have plenty of sunlight, which should allow for solar powering the operations, including the optional LEDs. For example, I read somewhere that Saudi Arabia grows alfalfa in Arizona(?) and has it shipped. There was some outcry since this crop is a water hog. Can they do Hydroponics and grow it in their desert climate? Same thing for North African countries, what with Sahara expanding due to climate change, etc.
  18. What about Hydroponics, such as vertical crops in green houses with LEDs? They supposedly use a fraction of water, don't use soil, grow faster due to artificial light cycling, and potentially safer (minimal need for pesticides, etc.) Is it economically viable on a large scale? Could solve lot of food related issues around the world where soil and irrigation are not optimal.
  19. And out endowment has more than doubled to nearly $30B, with a $16B profit from the OU game. Only ND is ahead of us with $35B endowment. Since we are heavy favorites against Baylor, the potential profit is relatively small ($2.5B), though potential loss would be huge (half of $30B).
  20. Is is self-affirmation in the reflected glory off of the #13 ranked team, regardless of win or loss.
  21. that last pass also made to the WR. He just T Rexed it.
