  1. I think the point of the draft stats above should be that no one is truly great at it. Good teams hit on a few players in the draft for sure but they also have to supplement through free agency. Dallas has done a decent job in the draft of late but they need to be perfect in it because they have been absolute shit in free agency and the trade market. Part of that is because they have been in cap hell with their contracts and the cap penalties they had to deal with. However, they are handing out the contracts so that’s on them.

  2. Picked up the One X and Forza this afternoon to replace the One I passed off to a family member. Any other must have games out now for it now that they have had time to get a number of them up to 4K.

Wife asked for a PS4 today because she wants to play this. I’m conflicted.

Don’t be conflicted. Buy it and get yourself MLB the Show at the same time. Win/win.

  4. My wife can drive whenever she wants. I’ll get out the laptop or iPad and do some work. Set the destination on the the navigation for her and I can pretty well quit paying attention. It helps that I taught her to drive when we started dating because she didn’t drive in high school.

  5. Anyone been to Moab and the surrounding area? I have to be in Park City for 3 days in July and I’m thinking about going out a couple of days early and going over to Moab and the Arches. If you have been, did you rent a Jeep and go off by yourself or did you take the guided tours? I’m not real interested in going out in a group, but I’m also not interested in rolling a Jeep somewhere either. I’ve got plenty of off road experience, but don’t know if there are enough easy loops/site seeing trails to do by ourself and keep our interest for a day or two without getting stupid. I’ve also looked at the UTV rentals but prefer the Jeep option.

  6. Bogarts and Salt & Smoke are both good BBQ places. We also usually don’t leave town without stopping by the Missouri Baking Company, Ted Drewes, and Randall’s Wine and Spirit either.

I also second the zoo recommendations.

  7. In case I haven’t made it clear the last few years, I absolutely hate quality starts as a stat with the way managers are changing the usage of starters. These managers that pull starters in the 5th inning with a lead can choke on their bats.

Thanks. Is it close/walking distance to the restaurants and stuff? I can deal with people for the sake of my kids provided there is booze nearby. I think my kids will go giddy for that bubble place.

It will depend on where you end up. There are villas in several different locations on property. If you are in the bayside area, Doc Ford’s, the pizza place, and a few shops are right there. If you are further up, you’ll want to drive, get a golf cart, or take their shuttle. The Bubble Room, Mucky Duck, RC Otters, other shops are probably less than a quarter mile from Doc Fords so if it is walkable then everything else will be as well. Everything on Captiva is pretty well centered around the area just south of South Seas Resort and should be walkable if you are close to the resort entrance.

If you drive, plan your travel around big travel days. We drive it during the week and hit Atlanta at an off time. Traffic where 91 splits off to Orlando is usually pretty crappy and traffic through GA can suck pretty bad.

The kids will enjoy the Bubble Room. We go during lunch when crowds are down where they can walk around the restaraunts and go through all the rooms. Let them order dessert and they will get a quarter of a cake.

  9. They have a nice golf course and the grounds are nice. We have left out of the marina that is on property a few times and been there for other things, but never actually stayed there. We’re pretty anti-resort when we go out of town and usually try and find a house or small condo setup. I’m not a fan of other people.

It’s also not the center, it has a gated entrance to the northern tip of the island and all the off property restaraunts/shops are going to be just south of there. You can get golf carts at the resort and head out to the off property parts of Captiva though I think with most everything close by.

Good luck. Let us 1040 EZ poors know how it all works out.

They aren’t paying anything. It will be an input error, not a calculation error. However, I can’t come up with anything off the top of my head with a 1099 input that would cause that kind of issue unless self employment tax wasn’t calculated.

Suing, you can get out of the penalties with a little effort.

  11. Just to be clear though, it’s not the Panhandle which sometimes kids don’t like. We took another family with us last year and their young kids wouldn’t get in the water because they were not used to cloudy ocean water. They stayed occupied with shells, crabs, sand dollars, etc. but it is different. Cayo Costa and the resort area at Captiva are more clear than Sanibel though.

  12. The resort in Captiva is at the northern tip of the island, so the shelling isn't as good right there but they have a nice resort setup. There are a lot of benefits to being up there versus Sanibel:

There are restaraunts the kids would enjoy (Mucky Duck and the Bubble Room being two)

Jensen’s Marina is right there to rent boats from or go on shelling cruises/fishing trips from and that marina is where the manatees come into during the summer

You are close to Ding Darling, the best beach on the island (Bowman’s), Blind Pass which is one of the better fishing/shelling places, and you’re a short boat ride from Cayo Costa which you would have to visit.

We rent a house on Captiva every other trip. We drive from West TN and usually spend a couple of nights in Tampa/St Pete (kids love the Dolphin Tale movie aquarium plus there is a nice City aquarium), Anna Maria Island, Siesta Key, or the Steinhstchee area on the way down.

Still the best pool beer on the market as far as I’m concerned especially if you get the mini kegs.

You West Coast and TX guys need to get your hands on some Allagash offerings. I just finished off the last of my cases of White and am about to go through the bombers I have of others. Then I’ll need to make a trip back to GA or Chi to restock. I still have not had a bad offering from them after buying most everything you can get in nonlimted distribution.

  14. My other recommendation would be Grand Cayman if looking for a beach. It’s not 3rd world country feeling like several other Caribbean islands we’ve been to and there is more than enough to do to stay busy. The kids will enjoy the snorkeling, stingray city, and the turtle center.  We’ll be back there Fall Break this year.

Disney cruise would also be a good idea as well as Chicago which is great for kids that age for 3-4 days.

Anyone ever been to Captiva Island/Sanibel?

We go 2-3 times a year and are looking for a house there now. I grew up on the panhandle but we’ve pretty well decided we will never go back. There are just too many people now.

What time frame are you looking at going? Sanibel is dead from Spring Break to Fall Break so we spend a lot of time there during that time frame. The biting gnats are worse that time of year but they don’t bother us much. The beaches are crushed shell, not white sand and the water is cloudy not clear like the panhandle area. The kids can hunt shells all day long as well as catch all sorts of different sea creatures on the beach. You can catch fish from anywhere, rent a pontoon to explore the inter coastal islands, dolphin watch, rent kayaks, ride bikes, etc with very little traffic and open/empty stretches of beach.

  16. Idiots and TurboTax never cease to amaze me along with those that use HRB.  They work fine for simple returns but anything past that and it’s a problem. There is a reason I pay well into the 6 figures for tax software annually.

Rocko, Sonata’s are manufactured in Alabama.

Anytime I see Knopp0e post one of those oversized & incessant realignment posts I'm going to want him/her/it banned.  While I respect anyone freely stating their opinions in an open environment, that guy takes a four year old mentality of screaming what he wants again and again like he's trying to bludgeon us into conforming to his position.

While not disrespectful on a verbiage level it's still abusive by method.

I think you got your point across.

Ethanol free is pretty easy to find here.  There's at least one station on the four different routes I take to the ramp(s).

Thinking about a 22-24ft bay boat. 2009 or newer.  I'd prefer 200+hp but I'd probably settle for 150.  Thinking: Ranger/Pathfinder/Triton/Skeeter/Shearwater and maybe a Sportsman on an outside chance.  Undecided on T-top or no T-top.

That’s the market I’m shopping in as well. I’ve been looking at Ranger/Parhfinder/Sea Hunt BXBR/Sportsman and off and on at Robalo Caymans. I’m looking for one to use in the river locally and on the coast several times a year.

I have '17 4x4 Lariat with the 10 speed and 3.5 ecoboost.  Gas mileage is just a little less at 18.5 combined, but really good power almost like a V8.  I have been happy with it.

What's the thinking of the group on the best bed cover?  I'm thinking of getting a Roll-n-lock, but man it's pricey.  Other option is one of the metal manual roll ups like a Bakflip.

    https://www.undercoverinfo.com/p-37114-ultra-flex.html

I went with this cover and have been extremely happy with it. I’ve got a combined average of 14.9 in my ‘17 with the 3.5
