If Jimbo has a no-visit policy for recruits, so should we. The fact that we're 5-1 and this sort of thing is still happening is bullshit.

The facebook post you're responding to says Demas is visiting Ohio State and Jimbo knows about it. No-visit policies don't have any teeth when it comes to top recruits.

Fuck you Evans. Dude has gone straight negative towards UT out of nowhere.

I know Sanders is supposedly locked in to Bama, but publicly he has been way more receptive to us than Evans.

It’s a continuation of OOS kids being more open to us than in-State, and there’s only one reason I can think of for that happening at this point.

I definitely criticized  Skyline’s playoff failures under Reginald Samples, but the results of his departure to Duncanville are telling, look at that score.

It’s hard to win at a DISD school these days, Skyline has completely fallen apart.

Also, Southlake Carroll is not a top 10 team this year, that’s a reputation ranking. They might run through that district, but they aren’t on par with the teams ranked around them imo.

You might want to look at this time last year when most of the top Georgia kids were committed elsewhere. Where did they end up?

They signed 9 of the top 25 kids in state, 4 of whom were committed to them October or earlier. 2 more were uncommitted. They flipped 3 guys late I believe.

I’m guessing they actually spend more money on OOS recruits than in state ones. I’d actually worry more about a Texas kid Georgia is going after hard, as strange as that sounds.

And none of the Grayson kids are committed to Georgia, that beef extends beyond the Watson family.

The Grayson gang all visited UTjr last weekend. The only thing I'd be worried about is if Georgia decided they wanted Kenyatta and pushed for him hard. I'm aware that there's some bad blood between his dad and the Georgia staff, but Georgia gets who they want in-state nowadays.

You might want to take a look at the in-State rankings in Georgia.

He was a late bloomer.  He was very lowly rated until the offers came pouring in, even during his commitment he was only a 90 composite.

    “Only a 90 composite”.

90 composite is a four-star and likely puts you in the top 300.

You always want as much talent as you can land at any given position.

But the Ed Oliver discussion is interesting. When you hear folks discuss Ed Oliver the one knock on Oliver is "pressure percentage". There's a lot of people that view Jefferey Simmons as a better interior DL prospect because he's a better pass rusher/has a much higher "pressure percentage".

I think there is some truth in the idea a 3-4 isn't nearly as attractive as a 4-3 for this very reason. I would like to see what Oliver's "pressure percentage" looked like in a 4-3 vs a 3-4. Not saying I prefer either system but I think there's truth to the idea that a 4-3 definitely produces more highlight type plays/stats.

Who are these people who think Simmons is better than Oliver? I hope it's someone who works for the Iggles/Giants/Redskins, because that is dumb as shit.

I don't know what's up with that Poona narrative. It's like 1 person said Poona was a super developed 3* and a bunch of people just went with it. The dude was a composite 4 star and the 256th ranked player in his class.  He lived up to his ranking.

Yeah, the revisionist history here is super annoying. ESPN aired his commitment live, he wasn't some scrub.

EJ's got a content quota to hit - he's not going to get there by limiting himself to only writing about shit that makes sense.

Exactly, he just needs to churn out content and this kid was willing to talk to him.

  9. This is 2017, but Eno Benjamin ran for 312 yards and 3 tds yesterday for ASU.

That kid REALLY wanted to be a Longhorn, I wish we would’ve taken him.Took Toniel Carter and Daniel Young instead.

Carter is a prime transfer candidate now, and didn’t really want to be here in the first place.

yeah but murray had 28 tackles. overall their defense was meh but that's still damn impressive. like you said murray has been good and was basically begging us for a committable offer for the longest. with our thin lb group, he would have been big help.

It was a missed layup for sure. Can’t argue that.

But those 28 tackles were a direct result of the defense being unable to get off the field. Tackles can be a double edged stat.

Army had the ball all game, Army doesn’t pass. Somebody had to rack up tackles by default.

the fuck was charlie doing slow playing kenneth murray.

Murray is good, but this ain’t really the week to be lusting after BlowU defenders. Their defense’s inability to get off the field is the reason they almost lost that game.

  12. Ah, the Florida 5.

Cecil Cherry is now at Grambling, Tim Irvin is at East Carolina, You just found Devo, and I have no idea where Gilbert Johnson is at now. At one point he was at something called Mars Hill University, but I don't think he's there anymore.

Davante Davis is the only one who stuck, all the other guys not only failed to stick here, they also failed to stick at their second landing spots.

If their QB stays healthy, nobody's beating North Shore this year.  Talent all over the place with some big boys up front.

North Shore this year seems like one of those teams guys like us will bring up 25 years from now when the topic turns to greatest teams ever

They’re easily the best team in the state right now. A little early for all-time talk, but they look damn good.

A lot can happen in a season though.

10 years of garbage from UT and initially promising aggy seasons ending in train wrecks. If the pattern changes this year then fuck it, I'm wrong.

It will change for at least the 2019 class, Herman got a first year bump, and so will Jimbo.

After that, it’s not even really about aggy anymore, it’s about us, we are in a shit position.
