This was an all time great performance by LeBron, but it was not a 1v5. The Cavs got a 20-10 from Love, and quality contributions from Nance.

You can play semantics, his team still blows.

He's the best defensive player in the league, and he had 13 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists, 5 steals, and 2 blocks tonight. But please, continue.

It's easier to play great defense when you don't have to worry about scoring at all. Draymond does not need to score for that team, no offensive burden means more energy for defense.  He's a good player, but he wouldn't be able to do what he does now for any other team.

  2. Higgins is using us as his backup school imo. I don't mind keeping the seat warm in case Stanford doesn't work out for him, but I wouldn't waste any resources on him that could be better used elsewhere, like our last few OVs this summer.

The staff is handling this right, they had him for an unofficial, but they rebuffed his attempt to get an OV and have offered several other WRs in the last week or two.

So EJ now has UT picks in for Smith, Anderson, Ellis, Powell and Wright. Um.

    EDIT: Also Tongue

The moment he hears anything that's not complete sunshine from any of them he will immediately change the picks.

His CBs have been even more useless than usual this cycle, and I didn't even think that was possible.

Wth does he mean by “rising seniors”?

It means a junior going into their senior year.

People use it during the spring/summer to differentiate between players who are going to be seniors and players who are seniors right now and are about to graduate.

Lulz. I'm not authorative about shit. But if you write enough in a declarative manner, people will believe you for whatever reason.

Human nature. People tend to follow whoever is the most confident, not whoever is the most correct.

EJ is doing his best to make it obvious without coming out and saying it. I can only imagine how the 247 base took that. I'm sure there's about 100 posters asking EJ what he means by strange.

This was a guarantee to happen as soon as Jimbo was hired. It's how he operated at FSU and why he pulled so many IMG kids.  Go look at the recruitment of Shavar Manuel in 2016. It has "strange" written all over it.

Jordan Whittington's brother went on twitter months ago and basically said it.

  7. Shepard's recent quotes are interesting. He said he had Bama in his top 2 and that aggy was in his top 6. Those are some specific numbers. If aggy was the other team in his top 2, why wouldn't he just say that? Why did he go all the way down to top 6?

Its because aggy isn't in his top two. And with them out, best bet for that other top 2 team would be us.

DL recruiting is absolutely an issue. That said, the fact that we know this in May and not in November/December is a huge benefit. The staff can act accordingly.

It was an issue last cycle too, until the staff pulled a rabbit out of their ass late. Likely going to have to do the same this year.

He continues to follow Texas commits and retweet and like pro Texas stuff; I think it speaks well for us that he followed Brayden Liebrock today.  The most interesting part about the pay site intel is that no one knows, and the narrative is being driven by Notre Dame.

NaNa is friends with a lot of the recruits, close with some of them.  I think this is where is his heart is and his Dad is set on Notre Dame.

There was an interesting tweet that NaNa liked from his H.S. coaches wife, and it spoke about this decision not being what anyone else wants for him, it's his decision.  May have been the normal follow your heart speak, but it stood out when I read it.

They do know. You only get that kind of CB movement when someone gives a silent commitment. You can still hold out hope that he changes his mind, but I'd bet he already told ND he was coming.

Italian East Coast basketball player decides to go to Nova? No waaaaay

Well, I think it has more to do with the fact that the pitch is coming from a defending national champion coach with an exciting, guard-oriented offense, but that didn't help either.

Gonna slide right into DiVincenzo's spot.

    So, both?

  11. Yeah, I saw that random Liebrock CB from the USC mod last night and thought he was the commitment. The USC guy has no reason to make that pick unless he knows something for sure.

Still funny that so few people knew this was coming until last second. Our 9.95ers basically don't know shit until after word of a silent commitment leaks out. Anything before that is pretty much horseshit.

  12. 2 minutes ago, Machinator said:

I mean, did you see what Carrington did this past January with guys like Carson and Ossai? Recruits absolutely do get swayed over time.

Over time, obviously, but not as quick as it's often reported. 9.95ers are selling a product.

EJ gonna EJ, but the NaNa warning signs were flashing even before his OV.

I'm not saying ND doesn't lead, I'm saying I don't buy all the jockeying. If we needed a homerun on the visit, then that means we probably never actually led, and all they hype we got about this recruitment  however many weeks ago was unwarranted.

$9.95ers have been as reliable as the Mexican border patrol this cycle as far as their “feelings and sources”

Yep, EJ just had Texas Tech "surging" for Watson 20 minutes before he committed to us. It's nonsense, it's not a fucking horse race, the lead in a recruitment doesn't change minute to minute.

Either 9.95ers were wrong about Nana when they were picking Texas, or they're wrong now, I don't buy the constant jockeying.

Kyle Porter should see pretty limited with a rotation of Watson, Young, Ingram and probably Carter are in front of him.

Carter is not going to be in front of anybody if he keeps fumbling.

BS. Recruits have been hearing that for exactly one year. Surly fans are the ones who are tired of hearing it.

Lol what? They've been hearing it from Herman for one year, but they've been hearing it from Texas for at least five years, probably longer. Hell, the "Texas is BACK!!!" Notre Dame game was two years ago.

Fair or not, recruits aren't just starting all over with Herman, just look at Wilson's quotes.

  17. 8 minutes ago, texifornia said:

Less optimistically, they're also less in touch with the annual "This year, Texas is BACK" rise and collapse.

This is the most likely answer. The whole "Texas is coming back" thing has most likely gotten stale with the kids closest to us. It's why it's critically important to show some obvious signs of improvement on offense this year.

Who isn’t always open at Lake Travis, though?   I don’t think that’s automatically the same as Shipley setting records at Burnet and whatever other place his dad coached, C.D. Lamb scoring a billion TDs for a random Houston area school, or Roy Williams racking up yards for Permian even though their offense was run right and run left.

Wilson looks really good on film and is clearly a player to be getting recruited by Ohio State and Texas, but I just don’t get 5 Star top 10 player in the nation hype for a WR who isn’t an elite athlete.

Scorpio's post are satire, don't actually be like aggy.
