  1. Wasn’t he the one with a million false starts?
  2. So he captained at the 1998 World Cup. Tell me again whether or not he had lived & played in the USA at that point. (If you need help, I have bolded the pertinent date.)
  3. I’m partial to the Stanford vs Miami matchup. From the west side of The Bay to the southeast tip of the Florida schlong, now that is what conference rivalries are all about.
  4. There seemed to be a long time in the OT period without any stoppage in play. It just kept going and going, so after the game finished, I went back and tracked it. There was continuous play for 7 minutes 8 seconds in OT. From 12:30 remaining to 5:22 remaining when Bichsel took a helmet to the mouth, no whistles. While watching it, it seemed like about 3x to 4x as long as normal between whistles. Maybe longer. I checked the next stop and it was 3:56, so only 1 minute 26 seconds until the next whistle. Then the goal was at 2:16 (no matter what the clock said), so just 1 minute and 30 seconds. They took a minute or two to let the players rest while checking Bichsel’s face… probably so that the refs could catch their breaths more than the players. The fans needed a break as well, because being on pins & needles for that long is as draining as it is exhilarating.
  5. I am watching a recording of NFL Live from Monday and this showed up on the TV… Apparently Quinn is still representing Ohio State.
  6. Having an Englishman captain the USMNT is a little awkward. At least guys like Preki & Stuart Holden lived and played in the USA for a while. Jedi has always lived & played in England.
  7. From last week… https://www.wtatennis.com/news/4250730/hot-shot-paolini-foils-niemeier-tweener-en-route-to-stuttgart-victory I still have a crush on that little spinner, Paolini. Reminds me a bit of my little Argentine novia. Side Note: It’s strange that the WTA event in Stuttgart ended on a Monday.
  8. It’s nice to know that Homeland Security is in good hands… Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem fell victim to a thief while eating dinner at a downtown Washington, DC, restaurant Sunday night, the secretary confirmed Monday. Noem, who was asked about the theft at the White House Easter Egg Roll, acknowledged the incident and said the matter has not been resolved. The Secret Service, which provides security for Noem, reviewed security camera footage at the Capital Burger restaurant and saw an unknown white male wearing a medical mask steal her bag and leave the restaurant, a law enforcement source said. The thief got away with Noem’s driver’s license, medication, apartment keys, passport, DHS access badge, makeup bag, blank checks, and about $3,000 in cash. The Secret Service has launched an investigation to trace any use of Noem’s financial instruments, the person added. “Her entire family was in town including her children and grandchildren – she was using the withdrawal to treat her family to dinner, activities, and Easter gifts,” a DHS spokesperson said. https://www.cnn.com/2025/04/21/politics/homeland-security-kristi-noem-purse-stolen/index.html
  9. A Welsh guy from my accommodations in Florianopolis, Brazil 🇧🇷 in February of 2009 posted this on Facebook today. And I will be in Wales this summer for a birthday party 🥳 (which could be a front for a pop up wedding due to the original nuptials being cancelled due to COVID in October of 2020)… SO THIS HITS CLOSE TO HOME.
  10. Danny White was the only person keeping the Cowboys afloat in the early ‘80s until ultimately even he couldn’t carry the shit that the Cowboys were drafting on his back. Instead of blocking OLs to protect Danny and their 185 lbs RB, Tony Dorsett and dumb guys who can rush the passer on defense… …they were trying to show how smart they were by drafting guys and switching their positions, or drafting basketball players to play DB, or drafting Ivy League guys who could understand the complicated, yet passive “Flex Defense”.
  11. If you are pro level at both and are not a QB… I would suggest focusing on the sport with the leather glove and wooden bat (at the pro level). It will be fun to watch him on the football field if he chooses football, but… ⚾️🧢 💰💰💰💰💰💰
  12. JD Vance visited him yesterday (Sunday) evening and he is dead Monday morning. Coincidence?
  13. I asked The Google: ”Is Paige Bueckers’ girlfriend a lesbian?” There was some TikTok stuff that came up, but I don’t have the TikTok app, so this was as far as I got. And notice Paige’s hand height behind the girl on the left. https://www.tiktok.com/discover/paige-bueckers-confirms-that-she-is-a-lesbian?lang=en
  14. Tessmann representin’! https://streamin.one/v/bce1eb6d Nice “piece of skill” to fake a defender off and then get a shot off for a goal near the top of the 18 yard box.
  15. His family sure thinks so.
  16. Ostapenko is my jam! 😂 But Pegula ran into Buzzsaw Alexandrova today. (You never know which Alexandrova you’re going to get.)
  17. If Mukuba & QE flipped draft round projections, it would make more sense to me. Blue’s explosive speed justifies 1-3 teams seeing him as worthy of a 2nd pick for their scheme. QE’s play makes a 2nd round grade a potentially fireable misjudgment. CBS’s Fantasy Football Today crew were chuckling over QE’s throws the couple of years helping his receivers show off their catch radius because so many were off target. But… it only takes one scout to risk his job to pick a career backup in the 2nd round for it to happen.
  18. I hope not. I enjoy watching her melt down.
  19. Our cup runneth over! We got the California kid! This kicks ass! 🤘
  20. Yea! Hook’erz! The future is bright! 🤘
  21. Gunnar Helm on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football right now. (Might be a repeat from last hour.) They like him, of course Hope that he goes to the Broncos in the 3rd round. He is going to be a force in the NFL.
  22. He would not be the first BYU football player who did.
  23. The smart thing to do would be to stay at Texas and graduate… or go to a lower league like the Ivy League and play there. Leaving and going to a directional school in Louisiana or the Dakotas or what-have-you would not be a wise decision.
