  1. 76 in Lubbock right now. It'll be 50 at 730am tomorrow.
  2. Yes, yes. I am Dr. Vanostran from the clinic. I need Elaine Benes chart. She's a patient of mine and she's not going to make it. It's uh very bad very messy. I see and what clinic is that again? That's correct.
  3. I'm really excited about our Freshmen TE Mason Tharp. 6'9. You can see him at 2:56
  4. Tomorrow will be 30 days sober. Yesterday I was thinking that I'm glad I'm an alcoholic. I'm glad that my body has a negative reaction to alcohol. It's not good for you in the first place. And also I appreciate the struggle and the journey. The people you meet that have done the same crazy shit you have. They don't judge you when you tell your story or have a perplexed look on their face. You hear their stories and they share their wisdom and it's some real valuable data that might help save your own life. I feel better physically. My face doesnt look like a puffed up tomato. I sleep soundly. The best part of my day is in the morning. I roll out of bed, get on my knees and pray. When I pray I'm noticing lately that I'm not asking for things instead I am thanking my higher power. Psalm 40:2 He lifted me out of the pit of death, out of the mud and filth, and set my feet on solid rock. He steadied my legs. I hope everyone in this thread is having a good day. A day that they overcame and experienced life they way they were meant to.
  5. Matt Wells. People in this town still don't even know who the fuck he is or why we hired him. Houston Baptist did this to us last year and now SFA. Dude is a fucking joke.
  6. Tech is the youngest school in the current Big 12. Not even a 100 years old. Now its the 3rd youngest school behind UH and UCF.
  7. Still in sober living and IOP. Going to the Tech game this weekend with some sober buddies. Shaq is DJing a tailgate. That'll be interesting to watch sober.
  8. You promised a kid in the hospital that I would hit two home runs?
  9. Can we all agree that Bob Uecker was really playing Bob Uecker in Major League?
  10. That's got to be hard having to deal with that. I am glad you responded well. Right now I'm on this sober high, I'm sure I will be in a funk at some point like yourself. Hopefully with IOP I will get the tools to help me get through that. Be happy man. You're sober, and I'm sober. 🙂
  11. Here's my room. Not too bad.
  12. So, I've been in Sober Living since Saturday. I really enjoy it. I have my own room and it's in this wing of the house where I have a lot of privacy. Last night after IOP me and the guys cooked out. I would say the average age is about 25. I'm 40 and there are 2 other guys in their 40s. I'm really liking my decision to do this.
  13. Moving into sober living tomorrow!
  14. Went to that Alumni meeting last night knew no one except for a few LCDC's. Anytime this afternoon Sober Living and IOP should be calling me. Tonight I am going to go to the Group I use to go to before Covid hit. It's no smoking and a lot wisdom in the room. At lunch today I finally got rid of all the remnants and bad reminders that were still lying around from last week. Tonight after the meeting I'm going to take a long walk around an area of town of when I was the happiest in my life and sober. Thanks for asking @Kennythetiger.
  15. Thanks for all of your messages. I went home and went to work on my house (cleaning it) and got online and went back to work. The fog is clearing big time. I think I found an IOP and a sober living place here in Lubbock. Most of them I'm banned from (lol) except 1 and it's the nicest one in town. My house is paid off so I can afford to live somewhere else for 6 months or so. Lubbock is a big Recovery Community. Tech has the Center for the Study of Addiction and Recovery which is affiliated with a Treatment Center here in town and if you graduated from said treatment center they have an alumni group every Monday night, so I'll be heading to that tonight. Here is the sober living I will try and get into and do IOP. Again thanks for the messages and @BearSchlong I'll probably be calling you some night this week. Years ago, I think in '08 I posted a message with all my vodka bottles I had drank in two nights and said I was giving up and ready to take my life. This was on ShaggyTexas I'll never forgot the calls and outpouring of support. Hook'em from this Red Raider.
  16. I relapsed hard on Wednesday. I work at a software company and since covid hit of course we all went home. I live alone and it was hard for me mentally to work, eat and sleep in the same place. It causes isolation. And it drives me crazy. But somehow I stayed sober. In March '21 you were allowed to go back in the office. I was so happy! What surprised me was that on some days I would be the only one on my floor. People just prefer home. One of our new guys went to Florida two weeks ago. He got strep while he was there and I ended up with it as well. Also this same guy was tested on a Sunday for Covid. So without knowing the results he still comes in on Monday. He gets a call at 1030am. Its his doc telling him he has rona. We go home. Wednesday I picked up. And this has been the hardest most grossest relapse ever. Like crawling on the floor. Vomit. Piss. Screaming for help. I finally started to taper. I told my employer my strep came back. The director of HR knows I relapsed. She is one of the best human beings ever met. The ONLY person who I can talk to. Paid for treatment twice for me in the last 7 years. I couldn't stand my house anymore. I'm in a hotel tonight. Just showered and ate. I'm drinking the 99 shooters every like 6 hours. But I haven't had 1 in 9 hours. I'm nearly done shaking. I'm going to work tomorrow but it has to be from home. Fuck, that was a long post. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I'm 40, and that one was the worst. I know I could have died easily.
  17. Fuck. I was going to see them in November. RIP
  18. Well listen, you son of a bitch! You know where we are? 30,000 feet above your head, you bastard!
  19. He'd never listen to anyone. Except of course Jerry. He'd listen to Jerry. Jerry would have to be involved. He really respects Jerry.
