  1. Thought this post should be in this thread:
  2. One of the most ridiculous "Corps traditions" is that they wear their pretend military uniforms at graduation, even if they aren't going into the military. I went to a family member's graduation that was also the commissioning ceremony for those graduates receiving their military commissions. They were dressed in the uniform of whatever branch of the military they were entering. They received their degree from atm, and then their commission as an officer in whatever branch they were entering. All branches of the military were represented. That part of the ceremony was impressive and patriotic, and I felt grateful for all those deciding to serve their country. But I was dumbfounded to see all these corps turds wearing their pretend army costumes instead of a cap and gown, but not having the balls or the patriotism to serve their country. My opinion of corps turds was already pretty low, but it certainly went down after that ceremony.
  3. We can make fun of aggy for tweeting about it and making themselves a target for the NCAA, but our leadership feels the same way.
  4. Maybe we can work something out with Austin Community College.
  5. Texas and Alabama know how to give a talented kid with issues a chance to mature. They also know how to get rid of a kid if the issues outweigh production on the field.
  6. It makes perfect sense for Manning to build up a relationship with a possible receiver. Livingstone requested Vacek and Taafe because he is considering a transfer to Westlake.
  7. Hinch not stopping the cheating caused inestimable damage. Fuck Hinch.
  8. Any mention of 1980 JR Richard gives me the sads.
  9. Mattress Mack (or the Astros) should give the kid and his dad season tickets.
  10. Gotta secure everything in place. Can't have sensitive stuff just flopping around.
  11. Are you referring to the hi tech clothing that monitors gps location (for various speed info), heart rate, and body temperature while providing excellent lift and support?
  12. “I won’t be wronged. I won’t be insulted. I won’t be laid a hand on. I don’t do these things to other people, and I expect the same from them.” JB Books
  13. So only bring him in at the beginning of an inning.
  14. After the playoffs expanded to 12 teams from 10, the deadline trade market is vastly different from what we are accustomed to. There are more teams that have a chance at the playoffs, thus more buyers. There are fewer teams that are out of the playoffs, thus fewer sellers. It is going to be much more expensive to make a deal. Your shopping list of 3 players would probably do more long term harm than short term good.
  15. Gotta win to get the recruits, but gotta get the recruits to win. In some ways, the ceiling for the Class of 24 is already set. Getting to 9 or 10 wins last year would have helped with a few of these recruitments. Beating Alabama and/or getting to the Big 12 CG would have been huge. We have to hope most of our targets are willing to wait until after the season before committing to someone else. For some, it's already too late. Winning 10 games AND winning the Big 12 CG are necessary to get the Class of 25 we all hope for.
  16. People are actually going to pay attention to baserunners' path to first base tonight.
  17. Quote: he is quite the celeb in C.Stn even though his time was in the 1920s really, all he did was stand up during a game when everyone was falling, and he didn't even get to play. while volunteering to play is a nice gesture, i think deifying him is overdoing things. his fame/adulation far exceed his achievements and deeds no offense. Nice troll job... I will respond any way. I wouldn't say he has be "deified" but he certainly started something that has transcended what the student body represents for generations. While you are correct he never got to play, he stood ready to go in just in case he was needed and that in my opinion was pretty damn cool and worthy of the accolades he has received over the years. Here was a guy who didn't play football, but was willing to get out there and fill a spot just to make sure his team had enough players to continue on. In my opinion that tells me that he was a great Aggie and willing to do whatever it took to support his team and I admire that. 20231569 Too bad no one was willing to follow his example against Wake Forest. 12th Man "tradition" is dead.
  18. It is almost a blasphemy to mention that terribly inaccurate movie in this thread.
  19. Altuve's oblique problem, then not catching Bregman's throw last night, and not playing today hopefully are not related at all.
