Kidd is a joke of a coach. he'll be fired in 2 years.
He never should have been hired, but Cuban is going to Cuban. I still have no idea how he got the Mavs to the Conference Finals in '21-'22.

Love their attitude...essentially "if we get u-turned, we'll just suck it up and do our best."

I'm actually not a huge fan of the sailor hat logos. Wherever they came from they did it for a ton of schools and isn't all that special. I do like it as a throwback logo and for the few schools like NCST that held on to it this long.

With all the time they spent covering Reba drama, I was fairly certain they would end up at tribal, but nope. Finally, a non-original Lulu goes home.
I expect both Kaleb and Emily to make the merge, and editing suggests that they both go far, but perhaps it only feels that way because so much attention has been devoted to Lulu to to their epic fails. I also expect Austin and Drew to survive for a while based on editing.
I had not given any thought about Brando at all...and I certainly won't be doing so now.

The bunting on the OF wall made me think it might be a 4th of July game, in which case, it would most likely be 1991. Kenny didn't start but did pitch in relief.

I think soda's take on the patch is correct, so 1993, but not the 4th, as we were on the road in Detroit.

The Amarillo Sod Poodles won the Texas League(AA) for the Diamondbacks organization, and that was fun. Otherwise, I have zero interest or draw to their team. I like it that they fought and clawed their way up the tough side of the bracket to win the NL pennant. Fuck Philly.
Texas has a great Red Raider alum in Josh Jung. They also don't really have any douchebags, as opposed to 3-4-5 years ago. Bochy commands respect and deserves admiration for his body of work. This season has been a great turnaround. I really don't have a problem with Adolis Garcia, and when you make plays- license granted to show out a little. His Game 6 & 7 in the ALCS were great answers to the controversy. I thought the bullshit around Maldy and home plate earlier this season was worse than anything in the playoffs, tenfold. I still like him. Lots of other Rangers are easy to pull for.
I won't be directly rooting for the Rangers, but I will have positives with either team. I'm just gonna enjoy this World Series. It should be a great one!
Someone tell slorch his account has been hacked.

I saw the picture this morning, I was pretty surprised.
I'm hoping it's a one-off and doesn't establish a precedent. I assume rescheduling was not feasible.

No, but they can borrow Ted Cruz 🤣
Hard pass, but thanks for the offer.

Gan the Rangers borrow Minute Maid for the next couple of weeks?

hitting your head is bad luck. i'm thinking it might be a medical condition, which they could have caught.
That depends on what it is. We'll either find out or we won't. I'm sure they all pass physicals and sign releases. I'm not going to fault them if it's something obscure. If he has a metal spike sticking out of his head, then sure, they should probably catch that.

I get the feeling the Boston lawyer will also have to drop out. Though not voluntarily, more a physical/medical reason than mental/emotional.
They do seem to be hinting at that, but I would not call that one a casting failure, just bad luck. Casting someone with that accent was the failure. They were clearly hoping for another Boston Rob.

Amazing that two of the first four people to leave quit, and another should have...and they were all put on the same tribe to start. The people in charge of casting and assigning teams need to be fired. They are clearly suffering from underdog syndrome.
I keep waiting for Jeff to give a speech, but maybe he sees no redeeming value in keeping any of these people.

He was always a great actor.
Here's a quick article about his hiatus and return:
My favorite bit...
Nice article, but I can't agree that he was always a great actor. I personally found his childhood performances to be over-the-top to the point of being grating.

North Mesquite may be the worst 5A team I’ve ever seen. Longview is up 49-0 with 4 minutes left in the first half and they’ve run a total of I believe 13 plays and thrown 2 passes. North Mesquite has zero first downs and I think -8 total yards. Seriously. -8.

Not as bad as you think. North Mesquite suited up their golf team.

There appear to be mostly competent teams this season, so I don't think we'll see a few dominate lake we normally do. Some minor fails, but nothing horrible yet. I was surprised to see the Asian couple struggle so much in another country where they somewhat speak the language. I was expecting them to fall back eventually, but not in Vietnam.
No non-elimination legs, but the ol' "you're still racing" fake out is still in play.

I’m not that bright but I’m dealing with Covid brain fog but doesn’t Miami play the fighting Mack Browns of UNC and not Florida State this weekend? If so, rooting for UNC. Revising my pick.
This isn't a list of this weekend's games. It's just a list of random "rivalries" to pass the time during the bye week.

2023 - 2024 Dallas Mavericks Season Thread - I'm watching, just like you guys

I would rather Kidd prove me wrong than to watch the Mavs wallow in mediocrity, but I'm expecting the latter. I think Kidd has high basketball IQ, but that's only one factor in being a good NBA Head Coach. He's missing most of the others.
