    1. Does either team winning benefit Texas?  If yes, I root for them.
    2. If there is no benefit to Texas, is there a heavy underdog?  If yes, I root for them.
    3. If there is no benefit to Texas and there is not a heavy underdog, I do this:
    • Army vs. Navy | whichever has the best uniform that year (usually Navy)
    • Alabama vs. Auburn | least amount of historical relevance
    • Michigan vs. Ohio State | least amount of recent success, and I generally find Ohio State fans to be way more obnoxious
    • USC vs. Notre Dame | recent flip for me due to the Riley factor
    • Florida vs. Georgia | Florida feels less offensive than most SEC schools
    • Miami vs. Florida State | PTSD from 1991 Cotton Bowl is still there
    • Cal vs. Stanford | Directors Cup impact
    • Oregon vs. Washington | Phil Knight factor
    • Arkansas vs. Texas A&M | I loathe Arkansas, but I would be fine with A&M losing every game in every sport forever
    • Mississippi State vs. Ole Miss | Not sure why, but it's how it usually goes for me
  1. I'd like to see something like this:

    • Each tribe picks someone to send to "advantage island," where the choice they each have to make is to be in charge of picking new tribe members or losing their next vote and selecting someone else from their tribe to fill that role.
    • The three tribe choosers then do a schoolyard pick to refill their teams.
      • Must select someone from a different tribe first.
      • Cannot pick consecutive members from the same tribe unless last pick forces it.

This at least gives the players some control instead of leaving it entirely up to luck, and should do a reasonable job of mixing the tribes, while possibly revealing or blowing up alliances.

Yellow going to be extinct in 3 weeks?

Doubtful.  Now that 3 players are gone, they will shuffle the tribes.  At least one original Lulu will end up on a tribe capable of winning challenges.

Yep.  And I may have misheard, but I thought he had told his tribe that he didn't attempt the individual challenge (w/ the other 2 guys) but, later admitted to losing it.

    You misheard.

  4. Emily would have gone home in Week 1 most seasons, but nope, she is only 3rd worst on a team of 6 this season, and may end up sticking around for some time.  I'm still waiting to see evidence of any aptitude whatsoever from Brandon.  Guess it will have to wait for an all stars season.

  5. I agree that the teams all seem likeable so far.  We'll see what tolls, if any, the stresses of the race take, but so far so good.  I'm not unhappy about the lack of non-elimination legs.  Those always seemed coincidentally convenient to keep well liked or hated teams in the race.

I was not impressed that some teams struggled for over an hour to solve a fairly simple word scramble.  Some of them would still be there if not helped by other teams.

I was very impressed by the sisters earning the express pass.  I'm pretty sure I would not have done it, but I would still be pissing my pants at the highwire, so it wouldn't have come into play for me.

I do miss the old school "make your own travel arrangements" aspect, but as others have noted, it really did create insurmountable gaps.  Season 1 is the perfect example, where the 3rd place team finished more than a day behind the winners.  Of course they deserved it for being douches who wasted an express pass by taking a spa day before traveling to a pitstop, so it was still enjoyable even if not suspenseful.

Teams should lose a timeout when a player requires training staff to go on the field OR the player should be required to sit out the rest of the half.

    One or the other.

I think that a ruling will eventually come down, but it won’t be for 3 to 5 more years.

What if a team is out of timeouts?  Sitting out a half seems harsh for an early half injury that turned out to be something minor.  Sitting out the rest of the series would likely be enough of a deterrent.

Of the Big 12 schedule, these 2 matches and the 2 @ UH scared me the most. We passed this test. But now we have ranked KU at home and then ranked UH on the road. A brutal 6 game stretch, followed by TCU and then Baylor 2x. Just an absolute beast of 8 ranked opponents in 9 matches.

Good.  It beats going into the postseason untested every year because the conference sucks.
