The top 3 names are really good adds imo. Johnson lit up the Mac with a limited QB. They’ve been on wise for a while. And the Kentucky QB is probably going to push Rush and White for a spot.

Hot take.  So a guy who played corner in college is going to challenge for the backup QB spot on the Dallas Cowboys.  Well at least he has good height.

  2. That was a great episode, and glad my confusion at the end of last week's completely made sense.  I think the Star Wars vibe was intentional.  The multiple quantum drive failures at critical moments...the asteroid and ice canyon chase scenes...all  that was needed was a "jumping to hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy."

How could you be surprised they made it once the other team took a 4 hour penalty?  Rupert is not exactly a physical specimen, but I had no doubt he was going to get up that hill in under 4 hours.  Taking the penalty was such a pathetic, stupid, pussy move by the Border Patrol guys.  Once they made that decision, I was all about Go Rupert!  We don't need pussies who give up that easily on TAR.  Once he got to the top, I went back to rooting against him.

I wasn't REALLY surprised.  The point is, I did not expect them to go very far, and they were my pick to go home first.

Lol at the results hinging on the whims of an elephant

I suppose so, though from what I could tell, those who did poorly weren't doing a very good job of voicing commands.  Rupert kept trying to sweet talk his, instead of simply saying "pai pai" as clearly as possible.  I was surprised he and his wife made it to the 2nd leg, even with the head scratching epic failure by the boarder patrol guys.

  5. He's the Chuck Norris of Jeopardy, but that may be underselling it.  His reality is better than anything I have come close to in my Jeopardy fantasies.  The people who are unlucky enough to get scheduled during his run look defeated before the first round even starts.  By the time the second round starts I think some have stopped trying to buzz in at all.  A poor woman the other day finally beat him to the buzzer only to not have any idea how to answer the clue.

And tonight showed why that was a terrible move by Wardog to vote out Kelley.  It shifted the target directly onto him.  He needed to let her ride as a shield until someone else made the move to take her out.

Yep.  If he were more of a threat in challenges, or had an idol or other advantage to protect himself, it would not have been such a bad play.  Maybe he was thinking he could hide behind Devens.  Oops.

When does Extinction Island come back into play?  It will obviously be rigged so that the player who makes it back in the game has a resume to contend, otherwise, what's the point?  I guess it's an interesting alternative to littering areas around the main camp with idols to keep certain people from being eliminated, though that may be more of a consequence of idols not being played.  Are those who don't make it back in still allowed to quit, or are they obligated to serve on the jury at that point?  I assume they would at least get to move to Ponderosa.

I still don't know who I want to win this thing.  I know that I don't want anyone who has been to Extinction Island winning, just on principle.  That leaves Ron, Gavin, Lauren, Victoria, Aurora, and Julie.  Woof.

Ron has done the most to play the game, and has recovered nicely from the failure of his majority alliance strategy.  He is probably the most deserving, but I just don't find him likeable.

Gavin has made some minor moves when needed, but has not been able to really control anything.

Victoria seemed into the game early on, but has completely disappeared.  She appears to have shifted to "under the radar," which I don't think is a winning strategy in modern Survivor.  She seems like a strategic thinker, but hasn't made an effort to control her fate.

Julie appears to want to play, but no one seems to value her input or her vote.  As a result, she's often on the wrong side of the vote, and has nothing she can point to as a reason why she should win.  I can see her as someone to take to the final, but the same could be said about anyone not named "Ron."

Lauren looks nice on camera, and has an idol.

I'm still trying to understand why Aurora is such a target.  I get that she is really good at challenges, but no one seems to like her or respect her game, so how is she a threat?  It seems personal for some reason that hasn't really been shown.  I don't know what game she is playing, and I doubt she does either, but I'm sort of pulling for her for reasons I can't explain.

Jon already bent the knee.  He will not stand in Dany's way to the throne.  Seems like something he could have kept to himself until after the battle to see if it ever needed to come up.

I do think it will keep him from marrying her if they both make it out of Winterfell.

I don't think he went out of his way to bring it up.  It just came out while discussing Lyanna.  That said, I think telling Dany now was the right move.  If he had waited until after the battle, she would have an even harder time believing it.  I originally felt that it would have been better for everyone if Jon did not learn the truth until after the battle, but seeing how Dany has reacted to the news, it's better for her to know now.

    - Dany learns that she is not the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

Point of order.  Dany learns that Jon thinks he is the rightful heir.  That's different than her learning that she isn't.  She does not believe Jon's claim at this point, and thinks his best friend and brother are conspiring against her.  Whether she accepts the truth remains to be seen.

They were evidence that Joffrey et al were not Robert’s kids (and not rightful heirs) because all had Baratheon traits that were dominant genes for lack of a better term.  If all of Robert’s bastards had hair like him, then Cersei’s blonde children weren’t his.

That's right...I had forgotten that.  Thanks.

  10. I'm confused why so many think that Dany's actions are somehow out of character.  It's not what we like about her, but she has been an entitled cunt the entire series.  The only difference is that now it is being directed at other protagonists.  She is hot, and has an endearing good side to her, but has always had a chip on her shoulder about her authority being challenged.

Arya's weapon looks like a dragon glass enhanced version of the staff she used in Braavos, so I guess fighting in the dark is an option.  Can the dead see in the dark?  I had to go back and look at screen caps of the sketch, because I was expecting something else.  She is a better assassin than artist.  I guess Needle isn't really going to be effective against the dead.

If bastards have no legitimate claim to the Iron Throne, then why was it important to kill off all of Robert's in Season 1?

I thought Melisandre would have a role to play in the Great War.  I guess not.  I wonder if we have seen her for the last time?

Bronn not showing up in S8E2 tells me that Jamie and Tyrion likely survive the battle.  If not, then what the fuck was the point of his appearance in S8E1?

Too bad Theon is only equipped to satisfy Sansa's emotional needs.  Maybe he should consult Grey Worm on how to make the best of it.

  11. It's such a beating being an Arsenal fan sometimes...I'm sure fans of most other clubs feel the same, but a little consistency would really help my blood pressure.

Spurs have the easiest path.  They will probably not get any points at City, but they will likely get the other 12, even without Kane.
ManU have to play two top 6 teams, but get both at home.  They no longer have to juggle lineups for CL, and will be focused the rest of the way.
Arsenal should get 9 points from Palace, Brighton, and Burnley, but they are the most likely to drop points that they shouldn't.  At Wolves and Leicester will likely yield 0-2 points.
Chelsea have the hardest path, facing 3 top 8 teams, and having one fewer remaining match.

I expect Spurs to finish in third, and Chelsea 6th.  The battle for fourth between ManU and Arsenal is closer than it appears on paper.  It will likely come down to the last week, but we'll have a pretty good idea after both have played their next 3 EPL matches.

Like I said, ManU is focused...on sucking, apparently.

  13. It sounds like you are afraid that you will lose her if you don't spend a lot of money on shit that doesn't matter.  The sooner you learn that experiences are more valuable than stuff, the happier you will be.  Get practical wedding bands, elope, and spend the money you saved on the trip of a lifetime...or put it toward a house.  The prize for putting up with you should be getting to spend the rest of her life with you, not some rock.  Congrats, I guess.

Doesn't really matter because we got what we got.  That being said, the way it was done was dumb as shit.

Littlefinger has proven over and over to be a master manipulator.  He set up the overthrow of Bobby B.   He set up the entire war between the North/Lannisters.  He set up the murder of Joffery.  And then he got the people he just screwed over to give him land and titles and juice with the people who matter.  He worms his way into and takes over one of the biggest factions in Westeros and their giant army.  Oh, and he managed to make himself the richest dude in the seven kingdoms at the same time.

So this guy, as badass as he is, has zero inkling of the danger he's in at Winterfell?  He sells Sansa off to the Boltons to get raped and tortured and just thinks she's cool with it?  Even though she has said to his face over and over she clearly ain't cool with it?  He technically runs the Eerie, but he knows Bronze Yohn hates his ass and likes Sansa.  So he should know he's never getting any backing there.  He has zero leverage over Sansa anymore.  And then like the conspiracy video shows, Bran basically straight up lets him know he's on to him with the whole "Chaos is a laddah!" line.  Our evil genius instead ignores all this to play Sansa against Arya.  And Sansa straight up tells him Arya is a stone-cold killer.  Not just a killer.  A killer who never fails/has magical assassin powers.

Season 1-4 Littlefinger would have never found himself in that situation in the first place.  But if he did, he'd have bailed before we ever got to that council scene.

If I had to come up with a better ending for him it would probably involve him realizing Sansa isn't under his control anymore, turning on her, denying her the Vale forces to save Jon, Sansa/Jon somehow getting out of that scrape anyway, and then Arya or Sansa tracking him down after he's used the Vale forces to basically make himself the ruler of central Westeros.  The Freys have been wiped out.  The Tullys are toast.  No one really controls all that territory.  Harrenhal is there and Lord of Harrenhal is the title he was given anyway from the Lannisters.  Hell, you could even rope Nymeria and the wolves who are roaming that area into the plot.

I just think his end was sloppily done and didn't line up with who the character was.  Of course, that has been the case with a lot of characters since D&D had to take over from George.  Tyrion becoming a moron being one of the more glaring examples.

And you say not every death is going to have some poetic justice to it, but that's clearly what D&D were going for with Littlefinger's death.  "Hah!  See!  Littlefinger got outwitted by Sansa!"  It was just done badly and kinda fell flat on its face.

Why would a master manipulator ever feel that he couldn't weasel his way out of any situation?  You said it yourself.  He's a badass, and he knows it.  Why should he worry?  A random line from a conversation in the Littlefinger's past is supposed to suddenly make him understand the extent of Bran's abilities?  Even if he knew that Bran was now the Three Eyed Raven, how would he know what that means?  No one fully understands it.  Not Littlefinger, not Sansa, not Sam, not even Bran....okay maybe the Night King does.

Bran's abilities should also lay to rest any theories that the person who died wasn't actually Littlefinger.  On top of that, someone else in a Littlefinger mask would not have reacted that way.  They would have had to know about all the shit from his past that was mentioned, and they certainly would not have been so desperate if they were expecting to die.

Littlefinger's death was deserved, satisfying, and plausible for what we have been shown.  Sorry he's gone, but unless you are a ginger with a vagina and Tully blood, you aren't his type anyway.

  15. Dude is averaging $70,000 per game, a little more than twice the $34,000 average that Ken Jennings had.  He's within realistic reach of averaging the previous single day record ($77,000).  Insane.  I have my doubts that he will catch the record of 74 victories, or that he will even last long enough to claim the earnings title (would need 36 wins at current pace).  He's the most dominant player ever, and I would love to see him obliterate all the records, but bad days happen, and there are other badasses out there, waiting for a shot.

He will likely get taken out by a one and done who can match his buzzer skill and gets the perfect set of categories.  I wonder how many potential long run players he has knocked out?
