  1. Florida is a low-risk, high-reward play to throw some downballot money at, if for no other reason than the abortion measure. That might not get Harris across (FL loves them some tinhorn dictators), but to keep the heat on Rick Scott and the rest of the ballot. If the abortion measure is within range of passing the GOP has big problems. The fact that open support for Harris even exists in the Villages, an area Trump needs to win 90-10 or more, tells me that the Trump train is at least leaking oil.
  2. Brian Ferentz, please pick up the white courtesy phone...
  3. Trump, Bibi Netanyahu, and his homeboy Maduro down in Venezuela are cut from the exact same cloth. Either they stay in office for life or they die in prison.
  4. Don't slur Uncle Rob's name by comparing the real manliness of Uncle Rob to the spineless sack of shit that is JD Vance.
  5. Actually, the better analogy is this: -Democrats played a hideous first half. Sluggish, no energy, penalties, drops, dumb mistakes. Somehow, they get to the locker room at halftime only down 10 and receiving the second half kickoff. -Coaches make some changes in the locker room. New QB and a different coach calling the defense. First play of 2H is play action that the entire GOP back 7 bites hard on. Deep man waltzes untouched into the end zone for a 75-yard TD. Game on. -Since that play, the GOP is making more and more mistakes while the Dem OL is finally opening gaps on the ground.
  6. Yeah, 2020 + North Carolina seems like the high-water mark for Kamala. The abortion referendum isn't going to get her across the wire first in Florida. The only way this changes is if things go completely off the rails for the GOP. With Trump at the helm, this remains a distinct possibility.
  7. In an actual boxing fight, Trump's corner would have thrown the towel at the end of the 6th or 7th after several 10-8 rounds in a row, assuming that the ref didn't stop it first.
  8. Abortion, abortion, abortion. It's presence on the ballot in Florida is a massive Republican problem that no one appears to be taking seriously. It would be one thing if polling kept showing it in line with every other GOP pol on the ticket. But if it's anywhere close to the 60 percent needed to pass, I have a really hard time thinking that there are that many ticket splitters in that state. Also, the fact that open Harris support even exists in areas Trump needs to win 90-10 is telling me that the engine is leaking oil.
  9. Better Dick Cheney before he dicks you.
  10. You forgot Heller, Shelby County v. Holder, NFIB v. Sebelius, Trump v. Hawaii, Janus, and a whole pile of shit that I can't even think about right now.
  11. It's hard to call Minnesota a battleground or purple state when Republicans haven't won shit here since 2010.
  12. If the story is true about her flying eyes-only intelligence about the pending Russian invasion to Kyiv herself in December 2021, that's a foreign policy win.
  13. This implies he pays his bills.
  14. I missed Walz's security details on Sunday, but then again it wasn't hard to do. It was the second-busiest day in the history of the Minnesota State Fair, 256,015 people went through the gates. Place was PACKED PACKED PACKED.
  15. And if they actually believed a word of this, they're turning in a straight Democratic ballot.
  16. One reason why 2008 was weird is that John McCain gave his acceptance speech to the RNC on Thursday, September 4, which meant that his bounce started and ended a lot later than some years. The timing of his bounce cooling off lined up nicely with the collapse of Wall Street. Lehman Brothers failed on Monday, September 15th, AIG followed the next day, and the first bailout bill failed on the House floor shortly thereafter.
  17. And agencies wonder why recruitment is down. Officers have to defend this asshole and the Derek Chauvins of the world.
  18. These dumbasses have a booth out at the State Fair to hand out anti-Walz stuff, and they haven't been able to draw flies. Meanwhile, down the street at the DFL* booth, they sold out of 12 days worth of Harris/Walz buttons, shirts, and camo hats by dinnertime on Day 2. Any merch that the party got to the tent didn't stay in stock very long. *In Minnesota, DFL means more than finishing dead last. The official name of Tim Walz's party is the Democratic/Farmer-Labor Party.
