  1. Speaking of the Midwest, Tim Pawlenty's bid for a third term as MN governor is off to a poor start. He only gets 40% against all three potential DFL challengers (each of the 3 gets between 48 and 51%).
  2. How about changing financial aid computation formulas so that it's less reliant on the parent's net worth? If parents either own real property or have anything that vaguely resembles retirement savings, the chances of the student getting grants is zero. As for the realignment, I remember when Republicans fought the Russians.
  3. Right now, the safest place for both her and Manafort is jail.
  4. The voters in MN-2 knew that Lewis was a loudmouth blowhard when they voted for him. Haven't been able to tell if he's been feeling any heat lately from his electorate. I know Erik Paulsen has.
  5. Leaving NATO also requires 67 votes in the Senate. https://worldhistoryproject.org/1949/7/21/senate-approves-the-north-atlantic-treaty
  6. I can verify that it's not in my name.
  7. Paddy Power is currently offering +400 on him.
  8. When this is over, McConnell and Ryan are going to make Neville Chamberlain look like a hero of international diplomacy.
  9. Kimchee 2 Sauerkraut 0 I think I'm going to find some Korean food for lunch
  10. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  12. Lunchtime from Leningrad doesn't have quite the same ring to it as Breakfast at Wimbledon, but it will have to do.
  13. Are we starting individual game threads?
  14. If the blue wave is running out of steam, someone forgot to tell voters in northeast Wisconsin. https://www.vox.com/2018/6/12/17455922/wisconsin-special-elections-results-june The two special elections that Scott Walker tried not to hold went yesterday, and it ended with another state Senate seat in the blue column. Much like the district that flipped in January, Trump won by 16 points.
  15. An actual treaty to end the Korean War also requires 67 aye votes in the Senate, and I'm not convinced anything that this President does could get 67 votes.
  16. Considering this is a Texas message board, I'm surprised this hasn't shown up yet in this thread.
  17. Minnesota advances! 13-8 final. Off to Corvallis for the Super.
  18. 13-6 Gophers at the 7th inning stretch. If this holds up, this will be both the Gophers and John Anderson's first ever Super Regional. Gophers have 3 national championships, but the last was 1964.
  19. Scratch that, its 13-5 at the end of 4.
