  1. The Minneapolis Regional was completely sold out as of the close of business yesterday. There might be a few coming back from other allocations.
  2. I always thought Gary Thorne on hockey was fantastic.

Gonna be 100 in MSP today, so we're not exactly bragging either.
  4. Trying not to brag too much, but my Gophers will host a regional for the first time since 2000.
  5. Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad. Establishment of corporate personhood. Citizens United doesn't happen without this.
  6. Smokers who can't be bothered to go away from the bar entrance, and make everyone walk through their huddle to get in or out.
  7. This series is going 7
  8. Minnesota. It's not much to talk about compared to other CFB packages, but dammit it's ours! Iowa State: The fields are awesome tailgating. I was fighting the flu when we went to a game here so details are a little fuzzy. Iowa: Fans in Mordor are much better than the ones that make the trip to MSP. Standing is mandatory, mostly because there isn't room to sit. Wisconsin: 0-6 here. Sick of going to this rat hole. Michigan: most overrated place in college football, yes there's 100K but they sureare quiet. My one visit was the Jug game that Brady Hoke sent out his clearly concussed QB late in the 4th after a TO. Ohio State: Maybe it was because my Gophers were the opponent. I was expecting a seething hive of scum and villainy, and was disappointed when they felt sorry for us. Nebraska: Great fun trip, easy trip from MSP. End zones need to be cut off at about Row 55, and the egress reconfigured. DKR: Visited in 07. I've never seen so many meat smokers in one place in my life. Crowd didn't get into it until they pulled away from Nebraska late in the 4th. Vanderbilt: dump. Crowd was over half Florida fans. Mizzou while they were still in the B12: Everyone there acted like they'd rather be somewhere else. Arkansas: Washington: Ivars clam chowder is the best in-stadium eating in college football. Setting is gorgeous. Tennessee: Neyland was physically imposing but not intimidating. Crowd didn't seem to care. No one was on the river. Might have been because Auburn was taking them to the cleaners. Maryland: day was surprisingly hot. Place was full of Gopher fans. I think every UMN alum in greater DC was there. Visits on non-gamedays Purdue Oregon (walked right down onto the field) Oregon State Northwestern Colorado Cal Rose Bowl LA Coliseum Metrodome Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis for the B1G title game
  9. $20 says that John McCain drags himself to Washington to vote no on the confirmation of Haspel.
  10. When was the cutoff? This break between generations is simple: if you have no memories of 9/11, you're too young to be a millennial.
  11. Also, they still haven't figured out what to do with Northern Ireland. Nothing but bad options for the Government.
  12. Francisco Liriano's no hitter was pretty bad if I remember right. https://www.sbnation.com/2011/5/3/2152529/francisco-liriano-no-hitter-twins-white-sox
  13. Mitt Romney failed to win the Utah GOP endorsement on Saturday, and will have to slug out a primary on June 26. Elsewhere tonight: Dems flipped a NY State Assembly seat on Long Island that had been red for 40 years. The special election for the House seat in Arizona in a district that went 20+ for Trump. 15. Rare has a song so succinctly described the paranoid state of the WH...
  16. No, it wasn't. The elections Walker tried to quash were for two seats in the Wisconsin Legislature. Tuesday's election was for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Aside from the margin of victory, a more telling sign of voter enthusiasm is that despite a snowstorm across most of the state, over 1 million ballots were cast. The last three spring elections averaged less than 800K. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  17. Not sure where you're staying,, but if you're working and staying in Fridley, you'll be driving everywhere. April in this town is a crapshoot. The weather hasn't been good on the last weekend of April since the Clinton administration, and there's 6 inches of sloppy snow on the ground right now with more coming down. There's a 5-8 Club on the north side of town (109th and Zane in Champlin) for their Juicy Lucy. Second the recommendations of 1029, Brits Pub, A brewery that also has FANTASTIC food is Urban Growler (2325 Endicott St, St. Paul). I don't get why everyone wants to go to Surly. The beer and taprooms are better at Able, Indeed, and Dangerous Man. Al's Breakfast is the narrowest restaurant in the City of Minneapolis, and is one of the legendary dining establishments of the Big Ten Conference. Open 6 AM-noon. Great pancakes.
  18. For those of you just tuning in, Ryan does has a legitimate challenger for his seat from the left back in Wisconsin. Twitter.com/IronStache If he throws the towel, who's the next Speaker?
  19. With parent: Clint Black, Little Texas, and Aaron Tippin at Target Center, 1992?. Without: Hank 3 at First Ave sometime in the early 2000s
  20. Right now, PJ is all hat and no cattle. We figured last year the team would be about a .500 club. Instead, they were 2-7 in league play, and looked woefully unprepared in all of those losses. He made Tim Brewster look like the coaching genius he so clearly wasn't. I'd love to be wrong, but as Jerry Reed once said, he who is expecting nothing ain't gonna be deceived...
