  1. San Lorenzo woman dies at 102, DirecTV charges early termination fee They tried this kind of fuck-stick fraud on me twice. Glad to be rid of them.
  2. May be wrong, but I thought Prosecution wanted to bring in that Guyger failed a polygraph (ie. lied), but didn't want to tell them why (supposedly because she had stolen a brownie and a pen). but there was a lot of (to a layman) seemed like incoherent discussion about it.
  3. Law dogs, I guess after lunch we start the penalty phase. What do you think we'll get to hear that didn't make it into the guilt/innocence phase? the MLK thing that was shot down? her social media stuff? Anything else
  4. Judge said (presumably to the jury), you're going to have a long lunch break, then....

  6. Live feed says Red Light came on. Does that mean the jury has a verdict?
  7. WFAA reporter says the Defense's case is over. Speculates that they dismissed to prepare jury instructions, and will present closing arguments Monday.
  8. Apartment complex must be loving all the free publicity about their locks and general security.
  9. Twice, I understand that. But I've been on 4 juries (2 criminal). I've even had them with the defendant testifying. Never seen anything like this cross. Yeah after some boring experts and maybe a weekend, it wont be as visceral, but that left a mark.
  10. They like will, but damn-it being under stress is part of the job. Not everything they see is "a call" in which they have time to mentally prepare en route. Sometime they see shit and have to immediately decide what to do. She was trained to do X but she did Y and killed someone. The jury will have to decide whether she intentionally did the wrong thing, or was her training so bad that she was never going to succeed as a cop. Its possible she thought she was on 3rd floor and not the 4th, but that stop (when the guy got ahead of her in the garage) makes me thing it could have been intentional, but I can't say that beyond a reasonable doubt. But I have little doubt that once she "heard the sound of someone moving", which was before she opened the door, her actions were intentional, wanting to neutralize the "threat". Finally, she was standing in the doorway will a well lit hallway behind her. She bursts in and says, "show me your hands" but Jean in his dark apartment, likely only sees a silhouette. She didn't say "Police, show me your hands"
  11. Did she just say she got blood on her uniform? Forensics said no blood.
  12. So the entry wound is in the nipple area, and she does CPR and a sternum rub, but has no blood anywhere on her?
  13. The Defense attorney reminds me of a young Mack Brown

  15. I'm in Montgomery County. I thought the "up to" had the potential to be a dirty trick. Based upon what you guys say, I will tell Geico what I know, and tell not rejecting, but not accepting until I know more. But also part of it is surprise on how long it takes to hospital to bill. With ERP systems, they'd be able to tell very quickly. Thanks
  16. About a week ago, my wife was traveling to work on an interstate feeder road. Rush hour, and traffic was backed up at the stop light. She comes to a full stop. Suddenly she is plowed into from behind by Vehicle A, which accordioned her into the truck in front of her and then the truck hit the car in front of it. (4 car crash) She's stunned and sore, but no obvious injuries. Take her to the ER to get checked out. no x-rays or other tests, just triage and quick exam by Dr (PA?) who gives a script for muscle relaxants and says to take OTC pain meds (Tylenol and ibuprofen) Driver of Vehicle A admits fault and her insurance (Geico) accepts liability. We're offered a quick settlement for the ER visit of "up to $15,000". I know nothing of ER costs, other than they are high, so I am leery of this "up to" settlement. Call the hospital, who says they can't produce a bill for 30 days (really?!), but so far all the have is an ER charge for <$2k, but that doesn't include Dr fees. I call the Dr billing service, who says they've gotten nothing from the hospital (really?!), although they are aware of my wife going to a hospital. They can give no guidance. Geico is pushing to know if we will accept the settlement. (Note: other than this "up to" clause, I am ok with the rest of Geico's offer.) Anyone have any experience with this kind of thing? Offer any advice?

  18. Do you need an entire new pump or could you just replace the motor?
  19. You stated that asking citizenship will result in an inaccurate count. I pointed out that questioning citizenship is nothing new, and that the census bureau asks many questions that are not part of a count of residents. And if you had bother to review the links, you would have seen that the planed question is: Is this person a citizen of the United States?" Yes, born in the United States. Yes, born in Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or Northern Marianas. Yes, born abroad of U.S. citizen parent or parents. Yes, U.S. citizen by naturalization (add year). No, not a U.S. citizen. This is not substantially different that what they asked in 1950. No part of the question asks whether an immigrant came "legally" I suggest you take to time to read, rather just stating talking points you've been handed.
  20. Citizenship was asked for many years. It was last ask in 1950. 1940 Census form. Note that it ask other questions, such as education employment and how much money you made. In 1970, they even asked about your toilet
