  1. There are plenty of times I want to buy things at an actual store but they don't carry the things that they used to carry. I needed an aerator for my faucet, so I went to Lowes. They said theose only came in the box when you buy a faucet. WTF? Ace Hardware had nothing, my local plumbing/electric wholesale place had nothing either. I ordered it from amazon and got it 2 days later. Same thing with my phone case. I don't have an iphone or galaxy, so it's nearly impossible to get a case for my phone at a local store. Amazon had it, though.

B&M stores are screwed. They either carry a bunch of shit that people only buy once in a blue moon, or not carry those things and force people to shop online.

I'd agree with that on the tech talent and recruiting part.  WMT is 10 years behind AMZN there but they've made up some ground recently.  They're still a ways behind and it's significantly easier to do business with AMZN as a supplier.

WMT had a big win with their store pick up, though.  Their ubiquitous real estate presence is their bigges advantage.  They should have been doing that ten years ago, though.

I played golf last week and got paired up with a guy who's a GM at Walmart. He said they're getting ready to start grocery delivery and they feel it will be a huge win for them (I'm in Oklahoma, so some of you may already have this option). He also said the curbside grocery pickup was doing well. I told him how much I hate the website and he said they're getting ready to overhaul that as well. It sounds like they're really trying to step up their game.

Plenty of people work jobs where their employer knows they will move on and actually wants to help them find something better if possible.

I wish I had worked at a place like this. I have never understood the attitude of keeping employees down and not letting them succeed. As if it's an insult to have a subordinate that does a good job. Usually those supervisors are afraid they'll look bad and don't want to be called out for their laziness or stupidity.

At my current job (state worker) I have a boss that openly tries to keep us from making more money. I don't understand that. You want people that don't want to put forth any extra effort, because they know you won't reward them for it? I never treated my guys/gals that way when I was a supervisor. I wanted to have the best crew and I wanted everyone to KNOW we were the best.

The difference being that gender is fluid and the biology is less so. Someone is trans because the two don’t match. With race, there is no mismatch because the entire thing is a social construct. You can identify with black culture and immerse yourself in it. Pretending that you are and have always been a black person, and that you have the shared experience which is essentially what it is to be black when you do not - that’s different. She did an extreme version of that.

I guess it gets fuzzy if you don’t think that gender is actually fluid, or if you want to draw comparisons between what Dolezal did and maybe a trans woman really trying to fabricate a history as a cisgender female. But just a comparison of Dolezal to a transgender person, I don’t think it’s hard to see how that is different.

Is this any different than trans that have their birth certificate changed? If you have your dick chopped off and take hormones and call yourself Roberta, that's up to you. But you were born Bob.

  6. I want to punch every motherfucker that drives a Ford "Ex-cape". The name is on the car, can't you read?

Also guys that refuse to use the make and model of their car, instead choosing to use the engine code that only they and their shitty ilk seem to know.  "Oh, I drive an E92." "I really love my w112". Fuck you. You drive a 328i, just admit it. You're not fucking special.

And when did "Merc" become the go to nickname for Mercedes Benz? It will always mean Mercury. GTFO with that shit.

After a few years of thinking about it, I have decided to get my CCL. I hadn't handled a pistol in years, so I went to my local gun store and took a beginner/refresher class and it went well. I used a Glock 19 on the range and while I think it's great, I just don't want to pay $600+.  But I also need something big enough, as I have pretty large hands.
So I need a 9mm that's small enough to conceal but big enough for my hand at a reasonable price. Thoughts?

Are you in Austin and not a felon? I have one that I'd sell.

I appreciate that but I'm in the OKC area.

This seems like a good matchup. I do think it’s annoying ok state has home team advantage. Although I almost don’t care bc the course looks so cool.

I kind of think it would be cool if they played it at the same course every year. Somewhere like Rosenblatt that would be fun for people to travel to.

I keep telling myself that I'm going to play Karsten one day. But then I remember that the green fee is $350 and I'm a hacker.

    Striker, SA or SA/DA?
You looking for max rounds or max concealment or somewhere in the middle?

    The favs are:
    Glock any of them
    Springfield xD, XDs or XDe
    S&W MP and/or shield
    Sig p225, p320, p365
    HK p2000, VP, P30
    1911s in compact or carry

I roll a HK p2000 in an appendix kydex holster and at 6’1” 200lb, I don’t print unless I’m wearing a snug shirt and even then it’s not glaring unless you are specifically looking for it.

I also have a 1911 Kimber pro carry HD that I carried at 4 o’clock iwb and it didn’t print either. I’ve retired her from carry.

As long as you don’t have Andre the giant hands, most any “carry” model won’t be too small, when you drop to compact you might need to invest in a magazine pinky extension to help grip, and ultra compacts probably will be too small.

Cabelas is great for holding a ton of different models. You can find better prices elsewhere though.

I don't think my hands are abnormally large but I'm not a small guy (6'6", 285). The Glock 19 fit me pretty well but I'd need to add the thicker backstrap. I really like the Glocks but I just don't want to spend that much.

  11. My mom toyed with the idea of retiring but decided to work a few more years. Then she died at 58, never got to spend the extra time with her grandkids that she had been planning on. I intend to retire the day I'm eligible at 62, if not a little earlier (if I can afford the hit to my pension). My dad retired from the military after 26 years, then worked for the VA for 17 more. He's in shitty health but some of that is his own fault. He has no hobbies or friends, he just watches the western channel all day.

Your dad and sister have done him a major disservice. Where the fuck is this guy’s dad?

His parents divorced when he was 6 or 7. His dad is just like him, doesn't keep a job, lives off of his mother much of the time. He lives about 90 mins away but ironically, my nephew calls him a loser and has almost zero contact.  Once he went to visit and his dad asked him for some gas money. It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.

My dad is in poor health and likes having someone around the house, in case he needs help. So I don't blame him too much. But my sister (IMO) has always been soft on her son. Now she wants to act like she's being a hard case, because she won't let him move back home. But I think it's easier for her to pay for the cell phone and car insurance bill and then walk away.

  13. Both sides were called Grandma & Grandpa LastName, but my dad was in the military and I only got to be around them a handful of times. My dad's from Indiana and they used Mamie (rhymes with whammy) and Pawpaw, so he wanted to be called pawpaw. I can't stand it, so I call him "Your grandfather" when I talk to my kids. My mom wanted to be called Gran, but she got stuck with grandma. My kids call my ex-inlaws Nana and Papa.

Yeah, we do know. They took him to court and it made national news. They look like little bitch parents who are complete enablers. Dad in particular has no balls. Physically kick his ass out of the house. Hire a moving company to move his stuff and change the locks. Send him the moving company bill. This isn’t hard. If my son is “a piece of shit”, then I guarantee you I have some culpability there. Letting him live at home from 23-30 proves tremendous culpability.

If I had a piece of shit son, a) I would know I failed as a parent and b) the last thing I would want is national attention.

I think there's a line between "piece of shit" and "fucking loser". The former should be treated much more harshly than the latter. Not that fucking losers deserve kid gloves.

My nephew is a fucking loser. 26, jobless, lives with his grandpa (my dad). His mom (my sister) pays for his cell phone and car insurance bills. Gramps pays all of the bills (food, utilities, cable) and throws him some gas money. He claims to be trying to find a job but I think he's conveniently applying for jobs he won't get. I've suggested to my dad and sister that he go to a temp agency like Labor Ready or Manpower and he'll get a job today. No comment from them. His plan is to wait for my dad to die, then my sister will buy me out of my half of the house and she'll let him live there. I'm really interested to see what happens when she does this. I don't think it will work out the way she thinks it will.

  15. Fan apparel that come in non-team colors. Who the fuck wants a blue Ohio St shirt? Or a yellow Yankees hat? I'm a San Francisco Giants fan and I saw a guy today wearing a red Giants hat. Is he a fan or just some fashonista that wanted to be different? I was in OKC and he looked hispanic, if that makes a difference.

How the fuck do you ladies live your lives refusing to shit in public restrooms. I don't make it a goal in the morning, but I have no qualms dropping bombs in a clean restroom.

I think it has to do with your enviroment. I always refused to shit in public, then I went to boot camp and got used with shitting in a stall without a door. It didn't bother me that there would be people standing around, waiting for their turn to shit. Now, I'm back to where I don't shit in public unless it is an emergency.

  17. Women need to be taught how to take a group photo. Tallest in the back row, shortest in the front. Instead, they jump in a big scrum with taller people in the front and then they start semi-squatting like they're trying to shit while standing up. And when one person does it, they all have to follow suit. So the whole group looks like fucking morons.

It’s 95 degrees, you’ve just teed off on #6 and the beverage cart appears on the horizon.

    And it’s a dude.

Or when you step into the tee box on 17 and the beverage cart appears for the first time that day. Too fucking late, ho.

  19. When I moved into my house, one of the first things I did was set up my PC, xbox, etc to the internet. I had already called Cox and had it set up. So imagine my surpise 3 days later when my internet was out. I called them and they said it was disconnected THAT VERY DAY. Some douche had just come out and turned it off. I asked why they did that, if I had just had it set up a few days ago? Turns out, the previous homeowner called in to disconnect his service, so the dumbass cable guy came by a few days later to do it, but he didn't bother to check if a new service order had been filed.

I told them to turn it back on , they said it would take 3 business days. I asked why it took 30 secs to disconnect it and 3 days to turn it back on, even though I'm already being billed for this shit, they had no answer. I wish I had a decent alternative but I'm sure they all suck balls.
