I at least would consider un-retiring if all that was expected of me was to go take depositions. I absolutely used to love doing it.   Really listening like you said, is a developed skill. Being able to detect non verbal body language was also fun.

My arms are crossed and I’m leaning forward in my chair, I am not combative!

Just don't confuse the fleshlight warehouse for an Arby's when you're out for that sandwich and you'll be fine.

    Sir, this is a Wendy’s!

  3. The funnier thing is that was likely manufactured at a facility a few blocks from my office, off Burleson Rd here in Austin.   Nothing like mingling with both fleshlight, tesla and TPWD employees while I’m trying to pick up a sandwich for lunch.

Snowed today. Kid has been asking for a bread bowl for a while so fuck it. Tomato soup with jalapeño cheese toast and some bacon because why not.

Well then allow me to regale you all with a brief I wrote in law school:

Milwaukee Nailgun Corp. v. Pato Testicles.

it was awarded the order of the Coif

Pretty sure I saw a video of that ruling on Reddit.

I went to the one up north a bunch of times before it closed, but never the south. Assuming it’s the same, it’s worth a stop.

It's good, as always, but they changed their serving methods after Covid.  You have to order at your table, off the menu now.

Cherry Creek Catfish is also very good, for catfish @ztejas already mentioned.

This is the most idiotic post this board has ever seen.

lol yeah.   "I shall not seek, and I will not accept the nomination of my party for another term as your President” vs January 6th.  Totally the same.

Yes. The wild freshwater catfish in general has been unfairly maligned, no doubt due to its association with farm raised and saltwater (hard head) varieties.

It has also gotten a reputation as a bottom trash feeder, due to its opportunistic and versatile ability to not be too picky in a pinch and feed on dead bait, but make no mistake, the humble catfish is one of the most aggressive live bait predators in the river or lake.

Thanks, Marlon Perkins! (I read that in his voice)

I would crush that right now…

HEB had 7 or 8lb loins on sale.  This was half of an 8lb’er.   Butterfly, salt, roll up and let sit in the fridge dry brining for a couple hours.  Then pulled it out and stuffed it.  I’ve messed up a lot of meat but pork loins and tenderloins are pretty hard to screw up.

It’s a hell of an environment to raise kids these days. In the 90s we could fuck around and find out was relatively mild unless you went off the rails. Oxycodone overdoses took a few of extended orbit acquaintances when that stuff came on the scene later. I can’t imagine what shit would have looked like with fentanyl laced Xanax and stepped on coke around every corner. It has to be literally zero tolerance, which is always an effective approach. Roll eyes.

True, it’s not like it was when the worst thing we had to worry about was baby laxative or some benign stuff.   Biggest problem now is even if you teach kids and they’re aware of the danger, once your inhibitions are impaired things happen.  Bad things.

  11. Boudin stuffed pork loin started.  Reverse searing, going into the oven and then on a hot grill.  That’s a pepper jack/havarti blend under the boudin.

This is a pretty abysmal take, in my opinion. When public transit is done well (and to be clear, I'm not saying it's done well in Austin), people will use it instead of driving. For example, I used to drive almost everywhere when I lived in the Houston area. After I moved to the Bay Area, I walk, bike, or use public transportation for 95% of my trips, and only use my car when going to the beach/mountains/camping/etc. with friends.

If you are someone who loves driving, it is in your best interests to have well-designed public transit. It means there will be fewer cars on the road and you'll be stuck in less traffic, which saves you time. And, it means people like me can save money and be healthier by walking, biking, and taking public transit instead of driving. In fact, for trips that are <2 miles, biking is usually faster than driving for me here, making it kinetically favorable.

Right now, we are stuck in the high energy transition state between two energy minima, which is what results in these non-idealities. But if Austin commits to doing this right (and in a cost-effective way) I think it'll be very good for the city in the long run.

Have you biked or run, or walked or even gone outside in Austin in August, vs the Bay Area?   If there’s a paying market for sous vide long pork then yeah, it might be good for the city.  Otherwise it’s hell on EMS having to haul stinking carcasses off the sidewalk.

Their chili is made with left over patties from the day before so that tracks.

Yeah, but as a poor college student, a 99 cent baked potato with the chili dumped on it, along with sour cream and cheese and stuff was a great meal.

Oh I’m sure there are videos of some repairman named Jesus getting stuck in a dryer, but they don’t turn up in my feeds.
