I thought Loro was terrible. You pay the same price for brisket as you would at Franklin, but you receive about 2 oz of meat. The sous vide chicken was literally mushy. The Mexican style corn in a cup was delicious, but I think it was $7! Just fucking ridiculous pricing. Aviary is across the street and is a million times better.
Try their fried chicken banh mi if you haven't already. It's awesome and ridiculously large. I think that is one of the best restaurants downtown as far as the price to quality ratio is concerned.
Tigress is my favorite cocktail bar in town. Great prices relative to Austin, and super nice employees and owner too. You can definitely strike up a friendly conversation there if that is your MO.
I think you mean Arpeggio. Unfortunately, most of the good Mediterranean food is up north. Sarah's Mediterranean and Mediterranean Chef Cafe (makes Grandma's Hummus) are my favorites. Kebabalicious is also great for gyro/shwarma. Down south does have Jerusalem Pita (a food truck with the best baklava I've ever had) and Phoenicia Cafe though.
Gus' is the best I've had here. Definitely feel like we don't have very good fried chicken in Austin. The fact that Lucy's makes any money just blows my mind. It's not even mediocre, just plain bland.
Holy Roller: Meatloaf sandwich is phenomenal.
El Primo: best torta I've had in town. Love their asada.
Fricano's Deli: Paul's spicy reuben is fantastic. I also love to get the Ainsworth, it's always been good no matter what they choose.
Timme and Baker both look weak and terrible on defense. Hope they improve in college. Timme definitely looks more skilled offensively at this point, at least from that game's highlights.
