  1. First off - it’s not hopeless. Second - don’t beat him. He is different and you gotta figure out how. There is something missing, not clicking or not developed yet that makes traditional school a really bad fit. My son was suspended 4 or 5 times in first grade (which is illegal in Texas by the way). He shut down his classroom multiple times. He was scared, angry and a massive ball of anxiety. His teacher was not equipped to deal with or even understand him. He was not violent until he was touched - then he just tried to do anything to get away. He was then moved to Special Education - the Behavioral Support Services program with an AMAZING teacher at the end of 1st grade. He was in a room with 9 kids - 1st - 5th grade and those kids were like family. They would get into it with each other, but no one messed with my kid. They looked after him. 2nd grade and this teacher were a MASSIVE improvement - minus one para and the administration trying to short my kid opportunities to take bench mark tests. He got his testing in and was in the top 5% of the school. 3rd grade - Fort Bend ISD had the bright idea to move him. Complete and total shit show. My son was assaulted by his sped teacher, not taught ANYTHING from August till Thanksgiving, scratched by a para, insulted by other teachers and generally just treated poorly. FBISD removed the sped teacher and replaced him with his 2nd grade teacher. They thanked us for not suing. We got 40 hours of compensatory services (one of his friends got 200). COVID hits and we go OnLine. My kid is a straight A kid. He has massive blowups at home with me. We work through them - OVER AND OVER AND OVER…. We’ve kept him in online school - Connections Academy. Last year, 6th grade, he had one melt down. I am fortunate to be able to work from home. We have worked hard to find a balance and to understand each other. He really processes things in a different way. He’s still killing it in the grades and bench mark testing. I say all of this to maybe give you a little hope that it’s gonna be ok. Through all of the insanity, the other kids were always really cool and nice to my kid. Kids were and are just drawn to him. It’s crazy to see. Feel free to message me any time.
  2. I plan on being in mine most evenings this winter. Our pool was finished in late March and we used it quiet a bit.
  3. If you’re gonna use it, it’s worth it. I sit in mine now with just the jets running, no heater.
  4. Helicopters landed at the top of turn 1, in Lot T two races ago. They then drove folks down the damn hill to the gates.
  5. Which is why mine is now at home doing school online and killing it. That said - we are very fortunate to be able to have him home. There are so many parents with kids that are going to be treated worse than they ever have.
  6. Anyone ever park in Lot A? What about the helicopter service?
  7. HISD is already converting libraries to behavioral rooms.
  8. I have an issue with raising the capital gains rate across the board. A lot of retirement is wrapped up in investments. Maybe set higher rates for high income from the sale of investments?
  9. Let me guess, it’s gone up… along with the costs of everything else. We aren’t going to agree, so I’m done.
  10. The same public school education that’s had money removed from it and now is shitty? Brilliant. Also, there will still be private universities, just like there are now.
  11. Why not? What’s wrong with free higher education - college or trade school?
  12. Those folks aren’t needed anymore. They now have the “behavior” centers in the old library. That’s where all of the “problem” children go now, where they will be virtually taught. This should go beautifully.
  13. UT is a brand name for some degrees. Others - it does not really matter.
  14. Leach should have had a pirate club.
  15. Max and RB fans are ready. I loved Lewis doing the same thing.
  16. Congrats on your kid being the mascot! If they wants to continue into college, have work on their skits and film / document a lot. I was the UT mascot from 98-2001. It was an amazing experience. One of the guys on the squad became Orbit for a time and still works for the Astros.
  17. Same. The champagne and caviar was the appetizer… Gotts was dinner! [emoji16]
  18. Just got back from Sonoma. Thank you for the El Molino. Damn good tacos. We also hit Regis Ova for champagne and caviar. It’s a Thomas Keller spot. It was damn good - if you like caviar. Ended up joining a new wine club - Square Peg.
  19. The schools are easy to figure out. Remove the Special Education teachers. Put all behavior kids in massive rooms with online learning. The libraries are the new behavior classrooms. Have coaches / security / minimal teachers for questions - save millions and test out mass computer education at the same time. Pearson gets $$$$$.
  20. Yep. My 2017 TRD Pro just turned 78,000 miles. It’s going strong.
  21. Dumb penalty. They were wheel to wheel racing on a wet track. Cars are gonna touch. If you want racing action, you can’t take into account the consequence of an action. The next 10 seconds of racing, Perez was in front. They were racing. “Rubbin is racin!!”
  22. Overnight might take a whole lot longer than day time. Also, outright bribery worked for my niece.
