  1. If we can't all agree on our love for big men scoring a TD, I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
  2. The guitar aspect makes more sense in the game as it was a big bond between Ellie and Joel, so by extension expanding it to her new relationship is logical, from a purely plot/character/relationship growth aspect. But even in the game I was... this doesn't seem like a great time or place for this.. but..
  3. "OMG people having and expressing strong opinions on games or movies is so stupid!!!" Posting this in a thread about a series in a movie sub on a bulletin board is as wise and cool as posting "This thread should die" in the Ewers thread.
  4. Dammit, should have thought of that one... but it seems more male name but thats probably due to too much Deion thread in my brain.
  5. What about Wendy? Windy City Maybe Milly Bean... with just Milly for short? The Bean at Millennium Park? There are females named Jordan, a small amount, but.. Allie for Al Capone.
  6. What about half time locker room chat? Who's covering those aspects. In fun amusement, I wonder if Deion is going to become upset with the Bill and his um... PR manager's shannigans drawning all the spot lights to Raleigh. The Telenovela grows!!! And yeah, Hunter seems like a genuinely good human that's also an amazing athlete. Glad he found a place to just do his thing without the tomfoolery.
  7. Welcome to the Surly - Sanders Telenova Fans page! We're here for the drama including race baiting, tons of misguided narcissistic social media efforts, soy boy media supporters, inevitable crashes and dumpster fires. Its been a fun ride so far and I fully anticipate its going to amp up now that the Game Master grifter commonly know as Deion is no longer in control of the day to day narrative. Bulk up!
  8. I get that but I lean more towards books like Rot and Ruin or Patient Zero by Mayberry and occasionally a World War Z that paint a global picture. Rot and Ruin definitely spells out the human aspect of humans being the predators and absolutely brings an extremely unique take to the undead/zombies the likes of which I'e never encountered before nor after. (Massive spoilers are required to explain that aspect and so I won't here) To bring it back to topic The Last of Us (One) focused on the human interaction, loss, and recovery/growth all while dealing with that looming threat in a very real way. The human threat aspect was absolutely intertwined in a creative and extremely interesting plot. The relationship between humans and reliance on one another, growing a bond, developing trust and healing was what drove the narrative. I just didnt care about the character's and relationships in the short time I watched TWD, compounded by the fact that the struggle against the undead was lack luster at best. That relationship in TLOU part 1 is why I loved it, and had TLOU part 2 moved away from the plot of the game, I would have watched the series. I didn't like the plot in 2, and as such knew I'd feel the same about the series. I've been reading this thread very curious about how others here and in the wider world feel about it...
  9. No, cause I stopped watching, which I thought I made clear. It was clear it was going to be a soap opera with zombies as the setting rather than a show about surviving a zombie apocalypse, which actually interests me.
  10. @Angry Gorilla already pointed out there were only 2 games. HOWEVER, Naughty Dog is STILL releasing re-masters of TLoU2. I believe there have been 4-5 such re-releases since the original launch in 2020. So, thats an average of close to 1 per year. Some make sense like PS5 intro but largely they been attempts to re-coup the money lost. I still believe its in the red vs production cost not including the HBO rights money, but I'm speculating based on unconfirmed information. So, that might have been part of what cause your confusion along with the seasons dived for Pt 2. As for TWD, I lost interest when the primary character, who was left for dead in a hospital by his wife, found his best friend had been cucking him with his wife and taken his son. Then, DURING a zombie apocalypse, he doesn't kill that man nor his wife who did it. I'm not advocating for violence in the real world for divorce, but Ive been in a coma. If I woke up and found out I got left alone in a hospital, my best friend ran off with my wife and child and zombie had taken over.. oh, thanks for making me food... I'd be pretty prone to violence and sure as shit wouldn't be hanging out with him so I could kill him what, 6 seasons later. NOPE
  11. Sadly this is true in a lot of different ways. Despite all evidence people will be against or pro something because a politician or political "influencer" (I am including both the social and main stream media in the term influencer here.) sides one way or the other on a topic. Even prior to the "influencers" picking a side often times the masses will pick their side prior to the the influencers. Good example is this issue and the Anthony/Metcalf situation right here on Surly. Unfolds here the same way it typically does in the bigger world and we are largely a university degree holding group as opposed to under educate folks. I see some of it other threads as well and it its not limited to Daily Texan threads. (The Last of Us thread in Movie) I certainly think it a global issue and not limited to the US. However, I am of the opinion that our historical 2 Party system allows for easier binary siding with "Team" than other countries in a broad stroke. Don't know how to fix it other than the hope of pointing it out might make some tiny minority of folks reflect on that reality and approach things differently... but hope is a dangerous thing.
  12. You neglected to mention the critical fact that he is NOT a "hired mercenary" type of character one typically finds at tu.
  13. Good Girl Ellie! You got friends waiting at the rainbow bridge! @Tylerocks I know personally how hard it is! I know Ellie is grateful you let her out to play in the big yard and I appreciate you too.
  14. That seems super specific and niche, seems like you might be trying to thread a needle.
  15. Is that thread about liking threads about threads on Threads or is it a thread?
  16. You should start a thread about that because I do too.
  17. Oh come on now, you run into a lot more ass than I do and we both know it.
  18. I am not. I was agreeing with you, I thought. Lulz, no and I'm confused why you think I am.
  19. Actually what you stated was: Nah, the incels hated the source material too Which presupposes that anyone who hates the show, hated the game and they are all incels. Love that you go to semantics rather actually discussing the plot issues in the game, which was, gasp, the real issue not a lack sexual exploits. But.. that requires actual thought and discussion and why go there when you can just paint a broad, tired, overused, simplistic, ignorant, immature and derogatory generalization.
  20. Portland.... "Because only corporate stooges will use chemically infused, deadly, man made hot tubs that are a horrible waste of space, the environment and water. Why when there are so many wonderful alternatives in nature."
  21. I will, no joke, push me to upgrade my TV. As an AV guy, I probably already should have but... I'm cheap.. usually
  22. Yeah, that's just a snap shot if the broad evolution since GTA III came out in response to your question. There's a lot more detail to it, hence the link.
