    Classic Car thread

Headed to the Mecum auction in Dallas, but unfortunately can only go on Saturday. This cuda is crossing the stage on Friday, which I wish I could see. They put a 527 BBC in it pushing 750HP. Love the blue color, but could do without the massive white graphics. What do you think this thing goes for? https://www.mecum.com/lots/DA0921-466496/1971-plymouth-barracuda-convertible/
  2. I don't see color. It is a great photo though, I dig it.
  3. I kinda forgot about it for a while, then noticed it on their site again and decided to give it another shot.
  4. It took some time, but I finally came back to this project, argued more and more and finally succeeded. Thank you@NotActuallyALonghorn And Fuck you Wells Fargo for making this so damned difficult
  5. Yep, I plan on doing this. My fish guy is going to test my water for me, and tell me when to add some fish, and teach me how to test it myself once it is ready.
  6. Just wanted to point out my lowly pond fishing. Just as a wind down thing before bed, I've been fishing a neighborhood pond I can walk to 3 or 4 nights a week. Just gotta say there is such a great feeling when you find what the bass are biting, and can pretty much guarantee landing at least 2 fish in 30 minutes. Nothing huge, but did pull in a 3lb large mouth last night. Nothing more relaxing in the world than easy fishing out under the stars.
  7. Ok, went to a local mom and pop pet shop Odyssey Pets in Dallas, and talked with a really knowledgeable guy. I'm starting with this https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/aqueon-led-20-gallon-aquarium-kit Now I need to pick out the substrate, decorations, and maybe a color changing light. Also need to decide if I want to try and tackle live plants or plastic.
  8. Also, when they do this, they leave the touchpad in the center of the machine, so my fucking palm is always brushing by the touchpad. Fuck you Dell, don't force me to raise my wrists. My carpal tunnel, my choice!
  9. The kid is turning 10. He is really into science and animals. Budget is probably around $300, but could go higher if need be. My thought is, even if he doesn't really like it after a while, this is something I can see myself getting into.
  10. Ok guys, my kiddo wants an aquarium for his birthday, so I’m jumping into this hobby. Don’t really know shit, but from what I can tell the kits they sell at petsmart don’t have great equipment. I’ve got a great spot for a 20g tank, but what all do I need to put on my shopping list? I know he will want LED lights to change the color, but other than that, what all do I need to get?
  11. Fuck man, I remember in college trying my damndest to get my dad to buy this nice silver one they had on the lot, asking $125K if memory serves. He couldn't fathom spending so much on a car then. Now, soccer moms are driving around $80K tahoes.
  12. Speaking of bamboo, I've tried a brand Tao that I dig. No fly in the ones I have, but comfortable as fuck
  13. Damn, this used to be one of my favorite threads. Completely forgot about it. My wallet is getting heavy, time for a revival.
  14. file name nomenclature talk not going away
  15. I've got the same sentiment about my Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They are now my go-to tire for sure. The set I have on now have just over 40K miles. I should get at least another 5K out of them before replacing them, so I'm a very happy camper.
  16. Anyone here ever played an acoustic with walnut back and sides? I've don't know anything about walnut as a tonewood, but looking at the Gibson SJ-200 studio guitar in walnut, I can get it for $1,500 cheaper than the typical maple back and sides of the standard SJ-200. I can't find one in person to play around here, but I'm gonna keep looking.
  17. Yeah, SJ-200 Standard in wine red
  18. Tone Shop is a dangerous place. I fell in love with this sexy thing today, but she is expensive. Need to find an extra $4,500 sitting around.
  19. I want a new acoustic, and really dig the gibson's I've played. Now, whether I want to go with a 45, SJ-200 or Hummingbird, or maybe one of the Singer Songwriters, I still don't know. I also dig the sound of the martins, but damn they are boring to look at.
  20. I'm in the same boat. We are selling my late FIL's house right now, and after that, new guitar shopping goes full force.
  21. Man, I am starting to look for another acoustic, and a Gibson has been tops of my list. That guitar is bad ass looking man, I fucking love the mustache bridge on those.
  22. I am typically Stage 3/4, but this particular meeting was with the Board of our Parent Company, so I couldn't quite tell them to fuck off just yet.
  23. People who set an early morning in person meeting, then change it to 1:30pm about 10 minutes before it is supposed to start. I only got into the office about 30 minutes earlier, but having to wake up 30 minutes earlier is going to fuck up my whole day
  24. really just sit on the back porch and play. I'm not going to gig, but I want something with a great tone, low action, and great looking. I struggle because Taylors sound amazing, but they are so boring looking. Thats why I kind of like Gibson, Alverez, Dean
