  1. Agree with all of that. The offerings are all there for the taking. At least in places like LTISD and Eanes. My perception of the problems with our educational system is that they have in many cases becomes administratively bloated indoctrination camps. Not indoctrination camps into any of the stupid culture war bullshit people focus on, but indoctrination into formulaic thinking and writing processes, memorization and regurgitation exercises that feed the appetite of the standardized testing mafia. Really deeply engaged and independent critical thinking and contextualization of the various data points they cram into their heads is relatively rare. When it does come together it happens because, at least based on what I have seen, there is a unique connection between an exceptionally driven student and an exceptionally compelling individual educator. That's not a swipe at the vast majority of educators, it's a swipe at the system that they are forced to operate in. That's just my take based on what I have seen as a parent.
  2. My daughter is in high school atm and has many more and higher quality options for course work that I had available to me in the 1990's in AISD. I am sure that it varies substantially by school district though.
  3. Do you bring this same level of dishonesty and misrepresentation to your practice of law? I bet you do. If you are holding out for a massive national strike or protests based on what we have seen so far out of the Trump administration, you are simply out of touch once you step outside of the very online political bubble. I think that we could certainly get there though. I think that getting us into a hot war would do it. I think that deportations that get expansive and optically nasty could do it. I think that an economic meltdown could do it. That's just a few of the low hanging fruit I don't think anything that we have seen so far is close to triggering such stuff.
  4. Don’t see a national strike and mass public protests in the cards atm. Maybe give it 9-12 months and reassess.
  5. Good to see Marc Fogel home. Trump mentioned that another would be announced tomorrow.
  6. It's not a good one. Might be better if you included the fact that you usually just get buttfucked every night, and not by choice. People around you have been talking about pussy for as long as you can remember, but they just keep buttfucking you. You have a potential out here. Do you take the swing at something different or do you just keep grabbing your ankles and acting like, well maybe I just wait here at the bar until Sydney shows up.
  7. Well, I do sincerely wish you wellness.
  8. Find the right thread for this discussion, I will be happy to reply in detail.
  9. This isn't really a great characterization. These are not the "hallmarks" of long covid. I appreciate that they may be the hallmarks of your experience, and you've attributed that experience to post-acute sequelae of COVID. But it just at minimum imprecise and at worst irresponsible to push ketamine in any broad sense as a treatment for long covid. There may be certain situations, e.g. individuals with significant history of mental health issues including suicidal ideation, recurring depression, cyclothymia, etc. that were present prior to COVID and recurred after COVID, where these interventions might make sense. But interventions like ketamine make most sense in the context of that mental health history, and not distinctly in the setting of a post-viral syndrome that is more commonly characterized by far more benign manifestation. Look last post on that particular topic in this thread. If you want to dig into a discussion of long covid, I am certainly inclined to do so. But let's take that to another, more appropriate thread of your choosing.
  10. Long on record with substantial cutting of government spending. My preference would be to start with the military. But I think that I have also proposed in the past just a straight up short haircut across the board initially, and then recalibrating from there. DOGE isn't the ideal vehicle, not close. But we never have an ideal vehicle given the two party structure and the nature of how this politics game is played. So we roll with what we got.
  11. Prior to 2023, there only a smattering of posts referencing USAID. A couple where it came up in the context of propaganda in latin america, another thread about belarus, and very infrequent smatterings of others. No real deep dive on the subject. My first post referencing USAID was in 2021 in the context of posting WaPo articles about US funding of Coronavirus collection in Yunnan region.
  12. I "liked" rep the post, because many are not aware of the legit psychiatric treatment uses of Ketamine. I've followed along with your posts and have like and posted some thoughts, re: anxiety treatments IIRC, in that thread as well. I well understand what the syndrome described as long covid is. I appreciate the mental health treatment potential of ketamine for certain individuals with serious and unremitting mental illness. I also think that it is important that as a treatment it is appropriately applied. That's why I liked your post regarding it's mental health benefits, but felt necessary to point out that as a treatment for long covid there is just not an evidence base. Replace "ketamine" with "ivermectin" or "HCQ" in this exchange and maybe this is more clear. I do acknowledge that my post could have used some more framing to help alleviate perceptions around the tone.
  13. After I shitposted to my hearts content there, I turned over my username and password to another poster (I can't remember which) that dutify took the standard for a few of us and shitposted for a few more weeks until all that was left was badmofo or whatever and a cesspool.
  14. Which one would you like me unpack first? We could also do various other latin american, caribbean, eastern european, african or asian exercises. Just let me know where you want to start. Maybe just pick a continent.
  15. Zero evidence that it treats long covid, but substantial benefit for other mental health disorders and particular treatment resistant depression.
  16. Come on guys. Eventually they will come for the commodity traders too.
  17. I think that he was shot in the leg first.
  18. The fun part is, we get to see what happens. Some prognostications here will be land, some won't. And maybe a few charities get extra donations along the way.
  19. Just wait till DOGE gets done with CMS and DoD. They will start pissing off the old school GOP and maybe you guys can start to appreciate the scope of the problem.
  20. Yes, the shit that USAID has funded over the years since its inception has fucked over countless lives. They were running drugs with the CIA in Laos within years of their inception. Training South American police in torture techniques, funding collection of corona virus in Yunnan, spreading social contagion programming...It's a long list. And yes, they do some good things as well. Those good things can be continued after we root out the rot.
  21. See this is good twitter shit.
  22. Of course you are correct. I am not sure that you have really grasped my consistent position wrt social media embeds and their proliferation on this board over the last 20 years, and how that post fits into that context.
  23. We got posters here celebrating people getting bullets in the back of their head before breakfast. So maybe calibrate your expectations.
  24. This is a pretty stupid one. I have no doubt that there is shit that needs a good audit at the SSA, but this is a pretty stupid argument at face value.
  25. Does the f150 have a dial to adjust the beam from teh driver seat. My tundra had that, my 4runner does not. I get it. I can see the beam pattern and it is too high, just no way to adjust it.
