  1. They also built schools, hospitals, and orphanages. It's ok to recognize that there are profoundly positive aspects to religion in our society, while acknowledging also the negatives. War manifests itself in every human culture and civilization, across religions and no religion. To the extent certainty was involved with the spread of early christianity, perhaps the most influential act of certainty was the witness of the martyrs. That, and the fundamental reshaping of the place and empowerment of women in society.
  2. I'd do this basically. I reheat by boiling water, turning it off, letting it drop a few degrees and them submerging. No need to defrost. And if it needs to be portioned out, slicing after it has refrigerated has minimal impact on final quality imo. Maybe put some tallow in with the lean.
  3. Does that happen with greater frequency in the DT compared to the CR?
  4. I got a cooler full of towels that I am going to have to throw away from last weekend. Trolling craigslist to find an electric smoker that I can use as a holding warmer.
  5. If you read the last few pages of this thread and still think that I am the problem here, well, I guess you are free to hold that view.
  6. You know exactly what I mean. You gave up on even trying to be a good on the level moderator in the CR a long time ago, don't try to play one now.
  7. Close as I get with this one is the wrap.
  8. I expect hayden to be along shortly lecturing people on shitty posting behavior.
  9. Pretty much whiffed on each sentence. Jeez bonz.
  10. I wasn't arguing with anyone bozo the clown. My post was "Politics has absolutely broken some of y'all." A statement which is pretty obvious by a plain reading of the posts on the last couple pages.
  11. That some of you get more spun up at me pointing out the obvious and not the absolute brokenness on display here is unsurprising.
  12. Go fuck yourself hayden. Snipping that post in half is shitty poster behaviour.
  13. I haven't consumed much in depth news since July 3rd and don't have enough information to make much of an assessment at this point. Only seen snips here and there. So instead of putting the onus on me to make your point, which is totally unrelated to the post I made and which you quoted btw, go ahead and spill your own ink on it. It's the day after. Go ahead and play quarterback.
  14. I am not ducking anything and there are no specifics in Jim's post that you quoted. I have no doubt that there were some breakdowns and there will be Sunday morning quarterbacking. I am happy to let that run its course and discuss the details and specifics and the cards fall where they are. No go back through the posts here and read my post again.
  15. ADHD kicked in and also forgot the POC notification. May have to match my own donation. @Bob Lives! can we forward our receipt to someone?
  16. So you agree with the tone of the posts here. I guess that is fine. Feel free to compare and contrast the management in objective terms of the current tragedy with state and federal government responses to any number of prior flash flood events in Central Texas (say 2015, or go for 1987, 1998, plenty to pick from) or other natural disasters in other states (HA, NC, CA , just off the top of my head). Jesus Bozo, don't be a clown. Not everything is just broken brained politics.
  17. I am pretty comfortable with that assessment after reading the posts here.
  18. Politics has absolutely broken some of y'all.
  19. Alright, alright, alright.
  20. Time to make the donuts.
  21. Correct. And the way that it works is that ACIP advisory recommendations go to the director of the CDC (effectively RFK Jr. right now since the position has not been confirmed), who can either reject them or accept them. This week Kennedy adopted two recommendations, one related to meningococcal and the other to expanded scope for RSV vaccines. The most recent example of a CDC director rejecting an ACIP recommendation was during the prior admin when Walensky rejected an ACIP recommendation that placed some limitations on the scope of COVID booster recs.
  22. Keeper didn’t take the gk but yeah. That was special.
