Fuck that.
This dude delivered and has us loaded to keep delivering.
Pay him. Pay Bo. Pay them all.
What are you saving up for? The AD makes a bazillion dollars a year off football, and is about to go SEC some more money.
Pay 9 win Steve 9mm. Pay Bo Davis whatever a DC makes. Do not let that MUTHAFUCKA get in the transfer portal.
This is exactly what you want to over pay for.
Exactly. Pay the man, but especially make sure his assistants get paid. You don't wanna get poached because you were cheap. It's one thing to be UH and lose your coaches for better jobs but we are the better job.

Bumping this shit as @Thatguy did previously with another thread to remind people how fucking ridiculous some of you are. I told myself after reading this fucking thread at the time that if Texas went forward and achieved everything that was still in front of them, I was going to rehash these petty grievances. “Oh, he told the kids to go have fun…what a fucking pussy. He’ll never win anything with that disposition.” You morons are fucking pussies for believing that bullshit makes a goddamn difference. Even for the football board, your low-grade, downmarket, paint-by-numbers ideas about what football is, and what it takes to be successful, are so aggie-esque, it is an embarrassment. Fuck y’all.
Signed,
Big 12 Fucking Champs/CFP #3 Seed
P.S. To the motherfuckers on other threads who: a) were “so done with Quinn” and clamoring for Maalik early in the season b) were seriously suggesting Quinn wouldn’t even start if he returned next year…
Sorry you had to suffer through all of those lamentable fucking wins. The Revenge Tour continues in New Orleans on New Year’s Day. I hope you losers stay your ass on the fucking couch, so you can race over here and bitch about hearing what the ESPN mics caught Sark saying to his players during the pregame stretch period or something, and how it is an absolute disgrace and entirely antithetical to winning football.

Got-damned fucking right@!!

Whether Sark is or isn't the guy long term and regardless of how much extra compensation he gets after this season, what's more important I think is that he has proven that you can still win at Texas. He has proven that the location, brand, culture, boosters, campus leadership etc. is not incompatible with winning and that Texas is still a blueblood of the game. Which makes sense given the national success that so many sports at Texas have enjoyed since 2009 - but Texas football was never going to be back until it was back.
Now that it is - it's easy to feel better about the future whether Sark is here 5, 10, 15 more years. The guy after Sark doesn't have to suck like the two guys between him and Mack did. He's reminded everyone what the standard should be and that it is attainable.
Solid fucking post. I like off the sauce Ztejas

But, as your posts show, he wasn't just a skeptic, he was a denier.
I can't get too mad at a skeptic, but when people express certainty like that, it pisses me off.
I've been a supporter, even a pumper, but have never expressed any certainty. Even now, it's just one season and I'd like to see more. But I think Sark earned this and caused this with recruiting, culture change and good (maybe just decent in some spots) coaching. Key word though, "think."
This is the part that irritated me about him. He reminds me of guys I know that see a young guy working at McDonalds and say some shit like "That dude won't ever be shit but a McDonalds worker". Meanwhile, said guy was an orphan living on the streets, busted his ass working at every station in the joint until the company gave him his own store in a shitty location, which he turned around and made profitable. The moment we are judging him is just the middle of his growth trajectory. Pretty soon a rep from In and Out will pluck him from McDonalds and give him his own location, where he will go on to make 6 figures and buy a house right next to the guy who said he would never be more than a McDonalds worker. Context matters.
Sark showed he could take a dumpster fire program and bring it back to respectability. However, not every coach is Urban Meyer, and can recruit no matter where they are. Some are tacticians who need help from the school's own prowess to boost their recruiting ability. Saban was like this, and while I am NOT saying he is Saban, Sark is like this too. People just have zero patience and don't believe a different environment can lead to different results.

Oh, and in the same way I don't get the feeling Sark "needs" to be the highest paid dude out there, I get the feeling he'd probably like to see some substantial reward for his staff. Spreading a couple mil around (plus a bit for Sark) could make several really valuable guys very, very happy.
This is where I am at. There are some pretty essential guys in the assistant ranks that I wouldn't want to lose. I think they might even be more important than making sure Sark gets his money.

I see these guys coming in to bend the knee. However, we are going to a tougher league where its going to be extremely difficult to not stumble 1 or 2 times. I don't want to see a single one of you jump right back on the bullshit as soon as we stub our toe. So keep in mind how we got here and why.
1) Quarterback play- We haven't had solid QB play since Colt. No disrespect to Sam. He is the ultimate competitor and a hell of a football player. For whatever reason quality QBs wanna play for Sark. Call it his acumen for the position, or the NFL style scheme he runs. Not only is this the first quality QB play we've had since Colt, but we also have the best QB room in the country.
2) Understanding what we need and having the ability to fill it - Sark came in, saw our line play, and immediately addressed it. He got a receiver who is the most dynamic after the catch guy in the country who had trouble tracking balls, and then went out and got the opposite. A guy who may not light you up after the catch, but is really solid with the ball in the air. He sees a hole and addresses it quickly. He doesn't just grab at "rankings". His top 5 class and Herman's top 5 class are very different.
3) Culture- So far he has gotten the guys to buy in. Team has swagger, but with a lunch pail mentality. Watching guys congratulate the next man's success on the sideline is cool. Seeing how the dudes have all their chains hanging on Brooks' neck, and he is at the forefront on the sideline, unforgotten, is awesome. It's clear Sark likes a certain type of guy. Worthy has all the makings of an asshole receiver, but is clearly working hard and bought in. At another school he could be Evan Stewart.
Demeanor- Maybe this is true or not, but a long time ago someone told me people follow the demeanor of their leader. Sark, can be a flamethrower behind the scenes at times, but is largely cool and collected. Maybe that's why they don't panic in situations. Time will tell, but it seems to at least be that way right now.

I quoted these because the guy who made this post has seemingly disappeared this season, but this goes fr ALL you bitch-ass motherfuckers who didn't believe. All you motherfuckers who participated in this thread the last couple years can get the fuck in the fan fucking portal. You don't deserve to be fans of The University of Texas. Try aggy out. Seven fucking win Steve is now 12 fucking win Steve. Our supposedly trash ass QB just dragged his nuts all over Mike Gundy's face to the tune of over 400 yards and 4 TDs.
It's always the same people in the here or the game thread bitching about every little thing, incapable of seeing the progress. Don't jump on the bandwagon now! It's full.

And that's why you don't slow your offense down. Lots of time for their D to rest and get good calls in.

i mean, worthy is first team all big xii (including as a return man, highlighting his dynamism), AD Mitchell is the newcomer of the year and a projected first round pick, JT Sanders is first team all league will be a first or second round pick and is our best TE since J Mike. it’s the best group of pass catchers (including the backs, gunnar helm, whittington, etc) that we’ve had in ages. it’s an extremely talented group. to downplay how talented and productive these guy are makes you seem partial, and agenda driven. imo anyway.
Did you watch the game last night? Did you see Penix throwing off his back foot all game, missing open wide receivers, and generally struggling when any kind of pressure was on him? What about Bo Nix? Looked a lot like Auburn Bo Nix when facing a little defense. Remember that Quinn threw for 369 on UW.
Anyway, Worthy is probably the best receiver in the country with the ball in his hands. That said, he has trouble getting the ball in his hands if there is any contact, or on balls past 20 yards. This has been the case for all his time on the 40, long before Quinn got here. He doesn't track the ball well and he struggles catching with his hands. He likes to basket catch everything. AD is a good receiver, but he isn't shifty or a burner. He catches whats thrown to him but doesn't turn up field and make a play afterwards. That's not partial or agenda driven. That's just the plain truth with no burnt orange tinted shades.
TV and draft personality opinions are wrong all the time. That's How Jamarcus Russell goes first and Tom Brady barely gets drafted. Bo Nix has looked like a world beater the second he stepped out of the SEC. Maybe he is that good or maybe they just play a trash schedule. What I do know is that Oergon has stepped out of their conference vs a decent team twice in the last two years vs UNC and Georgia. Bo threw for 205 2tds and 1int vs UNC, and 21-37 177 and 2 ints vs Georgia. Penix got outplayed head to head vs Quinn last year in a bowl game, throwing it 54 times for only 287 yards to Quinn's 369 on 47 tosses. Outside of that they haven't stepped outside the Pac12 vs anyone good. Bottom line, all QBs struggle. This who is the best won't get answered til they all get to the league.

Over a team with the same record that they lost to? There's nothing in the rule book that secsecsec can't be the conference that gets left out.
Sec not getting left out. Not after how they've dominated.
