Yeah honestly I'm not sure what aggy affords us in the portal. They have some front 7 defensive talent that could be interesting but we need DB support and none of their WR move the needle enough (except maybe Moose) to overlook the issues and the rest of their offense is a hard pass.
This where I'm at. Their front is solid and they haven't even gotten coached by Hop In the Portal yet.

The longer they have no coach the more their current good players get antsy.........

Good teams largely do what they do. They’ll all game plan for the opposing teams strengths relative to their strengths/weaknesses though.
KSU is a good team that is likely to work their game. Since it didn’t happen, I don’t know what they’d do. Bijan ran for 200 last year. Roschon ran for 177 the prior year. We ran for 230 this year. Their Dline does not match up well in the run game versus us. They don’t pass rush either for that matter. Generally speaking teams load up against backups and dare them. I cannot automatically sign off on KSU conceding 200 plus rushing yards either. Make that 300 since you presumed they changed what they do to shut down Bijan yet failed anyway.Last year KSU sat back in coverage and we ran on them. This year with no Bijan and Murphy at the helm they loaded the box until he proved he could beat them over the top and then they backed off. First still below is last year with Ewers. 12 personnel vs a 6 man box, and it's in the 4th quarter so we had already been gashing them in the run game. Second still is Murph. 12 personnel vs an 8 man box. In box situations you have a redshirt freshman. In both situations the running game was good.

It's a different level there from talking to some guys I knew who were national champs for us and another who was 2x all big 12 at another program.
Agree with that, but Whitt can do it at a high level if he puts his mind to it. Slot receivers in the NFL can take quite a pounding on slants and crossing routes, but I think in spite of all his injuries he can handle it.
Whit's injuries came from being too swole. Since he dropped weight he's been healthy.

All QBs not just 99%.
Do you believe that Bama and OU game planned to allow the run in favor of pass defense?
The 2.8 YPC versus Bama indicates otherwise. So you make it seem that everyone is so scared of Ewers that every team is doing something different. That’s not really true. TCU and ISU ran their stuff did they not? KSU got lit up. We don’t know that is because Murphy was playing.Bama ran their normal stuff and paid for it as QE lit them up. Every single other person we played with QE at the Helm stayed in coverage. Both BYU and KSU started their games trying to take away the run and make MM beat them. He saw 1 on 1 coverage on Worthy and AD.

Game winning drive or not he was nails in the fourth quarter at Bama, versus OU, against TCU and last night.
people are worried about this team against superior talent because of the play against murderer’s row but I actually think he plays better against stronger competition. It’s like he has adhd or something and it doesn’t truly come together until it has to. That to me is his biggest weakness - total complete games where it might not really be needed.
The whole team is like that

I’m sorry, but y’all have forgotten what good quarterback play looks like.
I get it bro. We all wish the days of VY and Colt were still here. That said Quinn is the best QB we've had since those days. Just sit back and enjoy while you can. None of us are promised tomorrow.

At times Ewers struggles with the deep ball but I think we all should recognize that he elevates his receivers with his arm strength, a la the deep outs from the opposite hash. Worthy is a damn good route runner and sells that particular route really well, but it means nothing if he doesn’t have a QB that can make the throw consistently.
The part that blows my mind Levi is that THE DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR'S GAMEPLAN should tell these fools what is the most dangerous part of the Texas offense and yet they still stroll in here with dumb ass comments. Yet every week every DC tries to take away the explosive passing game and risk getting bludgeoned to death on the ground. Guys who get paid millions make that decision. Every week. Yet here we are.

We are playing cover 2 (2-Read) the majority of snaps the last few games. I don't have a breakdown, that just an educated guess.
The way alignment is taught in the spread era is that every coverage has a default leverage and a reference point on the field. If your WR gets too far from the reference point, you start cheating your default leverage. For example, in cover 2 your default leverage may be outside shoulder and the reference point the top of the numbers. If the WR is like 5 yards inside the numbers, you might shift 1 yard outside his frame and for midpoint of sideline and numbers, you might be kn the inside eye.
I think what they are referring to is on a receiver who is outside the numbers but we are still giving inside leverage.

QE is surrounded by more talent than probably any QB in the country, he has a certified QB genius as his HC, and he’s inconsistent, he has poor mechanics, he’s not comfortable on the pocket, and he makes the same poor throws and mistakes over and over, when in reality he should be putting up video game numbers. this isn’t even a hot take, it’s just simply not what y’all want to hear.
Who is repping you on this post should show you that your opinion is wrong but I will take a stab at it. You are looking through the eyes of someone who doesn't like QE so you have been wishing for him to fail but even then you don't know what you are looking at. Caleb Williams is only special once the play breaks down. He is pretty average when asked to operate on time and in rhythm. Michael Penix is spectacular throwing the ball downfield. They keep him away from "traffic throws". Bo Nix in 3 seasons at Auburn never broke 61% completion percentage, and all the sudden got miles better operating a spread offense vs PAC12 defenses. Hmm...Maybe you might just chalk it up to the offenses those guys are running and their coaches allowing them to do the things they are great at and hiding their weaknesses. Nope. Not you. Too much hate.
Quinn Ewers is operating a full NFL offense. We are throwing out of 11, 12, 21, and 31 personnel. Sometimes he only has two or 3 receivers out in routes. So when he drops back, sees everyone is bracketed, and doesn't throw it that's a strength and not a weakness. 2nd series of the game Sark, expecting a blitz, keeps the TE and back in to block. That means QE only has 3 receivers vs 5 and they need to get 10 yards. Smart for QE to eat a sack there but Surly is yelling "throw the ball" stupidly of course. The only reason QE even remotely looked shaky last night is because we kept putting him in 3rd and 10 the first few drives. The second we stopped doing that QE started eating them for lunch. 15 yard outs on the far hash. Different arm angles and ball speeds. He rolled out left and threw a ball 20+ yards downfield to his right accurately without squaring his shoulders. You have no idea what you are talking about. However, opposing defenses choosing to play their safeties deep no matter how good we are running the ball should tell you all you need to know, because with the same receivers we switched our QB and they responded by walking their safeties up to take away the run. But you still aren't listening.

I think it's because he is a pro-style qb. He isn't the typical college dual-threat qb that extends plays that looks dynamic.
The thing that a lot of people on here don't get is the reason teams run that 3-3-5 flyover vs us every week is because of Quinn. It's a sign of respect that they would rather sit back in that and let us run on them for 150-200 yards then let QE light them in the passing game. They sat back in coverage all night and he still threw for 3 bills.

Can we get a picture of him not throwing off his back foot?
That THROW is from the left sideline, sidearm, back across, opposite from the direction he was moving, 20+ yards to AD for a touchdown. Pretty accurately. Damn impressive throw.

Does anyone have an actual philosophy understanding of why Sark hates the middle of the field in the passing game? I feel like with there’s WR’s these games wouldn’t be that close if he used it actually…. I mean it’s 3rd and 9 and he sends all eligible guys to the sidelines?
Flyover has a safety up the middle and 3 linebackers to fit the ball over

They are both vs the same personnel though the alignment is different. I gave you the 4th quarter ones so you can see that even though Bijan was giving it to them all game they still wouldn't abandon their shell. That should've answered the question you had about whether or not they respected the passing game.
What's weird is we are 10-1 and hating on the kid that got us here. Almost every team we played this year with Quinn trotted out their version of the same defense in an effort to slow our passing game. Quinn leads the conference in almost every category. Is the dude perfect? No, but he is the best QB we've had since 09. I respect you as a poster. I am just really really appreciative to finally have solid QB play after all these years. If you look back at us we have only been as good as the QBs we've had. Vince=13-0. Colt=13-1. Quinn=10-1. Sam=10-4.
