  1. While I love George's and Sammy, never thought their chicken fried steak was great, preferred the gizzards. Griff's is great, huge slab of meat, always fresh, perfectly battered. I usually did greens as a side to balance the onion rings
  2. Mickey's hot mustard at Wild Acre. Made with ghost peppers. Ask for it on anything
  3. My CSB. Tommy Lee Jones (an intermittent family friend) tried writing a screenplay for Blood Meridian. An impossible task, I agree, especially for an actor tackling his first script. With his usual hubris, Tommy Lee thought he was up to the task, and he truly loved the book. The script remains a work in progress.
  4. To echo what Bevo said, talk to your breeder. Tell them what you are looking for and they will guide you. Responsible breeders also don't want dogs coming back or going to bad matches, so they will work to pair their dogs properly.
  5. My GSP will be 12 next month, he calmed down around 7. I will say the are versatile, and ours adapted very well to our young kids and became a great family dog. I talked with the Breeder when I got him and deliberately chose the non alpha male. He was still very active the first couple of years.
  6. This is my go to weekend breakfast taco joint. I have not tried anything else, but it all looks good
  7. Railhead has great ribs. Solid, reliable, meaty. Thursday rib special is a deal at $10.
  8. If someone could photoshop Trumps head on Goldfingers body would be awesome, with some minion as Odd Job
  9. Drove by Grumps at noon and place was packed. Also, J's Casa Burger was shut down?
  10. Woodshed does usually have a douchebag special, but has the best service of any Tim Love restaurant I have been to, and a good atmosphere
  11. Yeah she needs to burn those steaks and pour ketchup over them to please Trump's poorly formed palate
  12. I have one pair of Tecovas, nine pair of Lucchese. I like my Tecovas, but will keep buying Lucchese.
  13. Read The Kid Stays in the Picture. Van Patten was quite the poon hound in his early years.
  14. So what are you doing with the old boots, and what size are they ?
  15. Yes there is so much material for them to mine in the evangelical grifter vein that could go 30 seasons, and really great character potential as well
  16. Dinner at Las Brisas I highly recommend. Chalk Sound is a nice "off the beaten path" area. We are going this summer and can provide updates after that
  17. Finally got fried chicken from Drew's. Damn good. Not like any fried chicken chain. Tastes like home cooked fried chicken your grandma made, if she really knows how to fry chicken.
  18. I also recommend Metro Maples. Great resource and it is fun just to look around their lot.
  19. Has anyone tried Azulados? I'm looking for a pair of ranch boots that can take a beating. Something cheap but durable
  20. This is a dangerous sign. A solid/real/rational conservative (Betsy Price) is trounced by a party activist who plays out the CRT tropes and fellates Trump and Cruz. None of his issues are the purvey of the county judge, but he doesn't care. He has no clue how to govern
  21. You forget how tiny his hands are, I'm sure Stormy'a lips were quite a load for him to handle
  22. This scared the hell out of kids in the early 80s. It is impossible to convey to other generations, but we grew up thinking nuclear war was going to happen
  23. 257 Roberts is a great whitetail round. Mine does have a 4x Weaver. I'm old school, but prefer the old weaver or leupold fixed scopes. Trying to find a 6x leupold now for my Browning 06
  24. The GOP ballot propositions have always been a pathetic attempt to curry favor with the crazies and party activists. Surprised there was not a proposal to honor the "patriotic heroes" who went on a field trip to the Capitol on Jan 6.
  25. Don't get the Icahn hate. Sure he is an asshole, but we lionize those guys here. He ha gamed the system, mastered the game, and survived and prospered?
