  1. The good news was Mike White in the first quarter didn’t have a ball touch the ground in 14 attempts and led the Jets to a first possession score. The bad news is 2 of those caught balls were to the other team putting them in position to score a TD. White giveth, and White taketh away…. Seriously, he’s playing okay.
  2. He hasn't been declared out so there's hedging happening. If/when he's declared out, it'll fall way more.... Good thing we have Cooper Rush as our backup.
  3. Beyond being a team short on difference making talent, we're really, really inexperienced. For all the pissing on DD, Rudy, and Patty, those dudes had battle scars and run the gauntlet. Now, they weren't outstanding in crunch time but they at least knew what to expect, understood how to run offense, and how to get to the line. We don't have a star who is unquestioned on this team who we look to when we need a bucket or a good possession. Again, not saying DD was great at it, but he was up for the challenge and knew where he wanted to get to on the court and wasn't scared to go to the line. Right now, whoever is hot is probably who we're going to run a play for and that can change by the game or even by the quarter. So not just a team missing top tier talent, but a young and inexperienced team missing a top tier talent. This may end up being another 50 team, but the other way this year....
  4. Sucks for the Bulls..... he was starting to really flash.
  5. He is. He’s not on the Conmissioners exempt list, he’s just not on the active game day roster because the NFL says they won’t investigate and possibly give discipline until the legal process has played out. It’s why Miami’s requests of disciplinary clarity is impossible.
  6. Maybe he’s not good or consistent in practice? This was always the most likely plan for him. Get minutes in Austin, hopefully get better and dominate until the 2nd half of the season, trade someone and then bring him up and develop him at the top level. He’s a project.
  7. Why? What's gonna happen to them? You think the GOP is going to even try to do their duties?
  8. I think this is exactly the type of deal Morey is talking about when he says he's not going to deal Simmons for a bunch of role players. The shine is off Kuzma, nobody thinks he's a star level player anymore. A cog in the wheel. Have to think Morey would be irate to receive a deal like this. Here's the other thing...... Probably put the Simmons stuff on hold for about 7 weeks.
  9. So, Simmons and his team actually did so. They met with Philly right after the playoffs and floated the idea of parting ways and exploring a trade. Philly told him they didn't want to do that and they were committed to him being part of the franchise. "Official" trade talks started right after free agency as Simmons let them know again he didn't want to be there. The rub is Philly's price. When you have a ton of time left on your deal, there's almost no way to force yourself out unless you become a huge distraction. That's just the long and short of it. It doesn't help that Simmons appears surly and uncommunicative and he sucked in the playoffs, but if you're too nice about it, the team just says, "you're under contract, fuck you". I think when you're in a contract year or there's an ETO, there are some ways to grease the wheels and make it a much more efficient and polite process.
  10. Folks forget about the last part. He was basically running practices those seasons with fucking Barry, who was too busy running his mouth about shit and having his boy, Blake, feed Bayless tons of stories trying to smear Troy. Mike White just needed 6 more TDs and it would have been an epic upset.
  11. Murray's not a 2 IMO. Maybe a 3. He's capable of a big time game but the consistency isn't there and it shows up in his reg season numbers as well. He's a nice player, but not a top 2 player on a championship team. It has to be MPJ and I'm not sure he's there yet. He flashes, but can't put it together consistently.
  12. That was the difference IMO. One team has a superstar, the other didn't...... One guy could make things happen when his team needed him to, the other has to manufacture it or hope someone gets really hot. Spurs played really hard just a tough loss. Staying on Denver, I don't see how they can win a championship. I question if they have a real #2.
  13. Personally, I don't think it gets to next summer, but it is a possibility I assume. Lillard's issue is he's the guardian of his own prison. Can a team with Damian Lillard as it's best player win a championship especially with contract without going into the tax heavily? Maybe, if it's optimally and perfectly put together but frankly, those teams which are perfectly put together for a guy who is probably on the 2nd level of superstars is amazing difficult, especially with Dame's contract eating up as much cap space as it does. So, if he decides he wants out of Portland, he probably has to go to a team where he's the #2 guy if he's serious about winning. Can Philly be that team? That's an awfully big contract for Dame. Who cares. A bunch of dudes have beefs.
  14. Morey definitely has the hardware to know..... wait, he's never even played for 2nd place? Damn. This is nothing but an empty threat. Totally get he has to do it, but it means nothing. If he held on to him for 3 years wasting Embiid's prime, he'll be fired before he ever sees that 4th year. Time (and therefore the leverage it provides) is undefeated. Right now it's a staring contest, who will blink first? No idea, but to take this quote as anything but organizational bluster is silly IMO.
  15. With what? They don't have much draft capital. They don't have a young QB. Maybe all their picks and Dionte Johnson? Claypool? Doubtful. This makes sense if you knew he'd skate on the legal charges. But what happens if he gets criminally charged? This thing becomes a circus, his trial may not be until next fall considering all the potential witnesses and court backlogs. After the trial, then the NFL investigates. He could literally miss the rest of this year, next year and into 2023. Now, that is probably a worst case scenario for him, but until you know his legal situation, there's a lot of downside risk. If the grand jury decides not to charge, then he could be playing in a month and then on to next year...... you just have a pariah with women as the face of your franchise.
  16. I actually agree with you. Holy shit! I think we get one, maybe two if fortunate.
  17. Feels great on opening night to play so well and demolish a team. Undefeated! Walk around with your chest out. Could be awhile until we get another one our way. Next up? @ Den Milwaukee LAL @ DAL @ MIL At least we get the Bucks out of the way early!!!! Let's go young los Spurs!!!
  18. At this time last year, were we sure Harden wanted to play basketball? I think it's obvious Simmons has attitude and focus issues, but he's what? 23 years old and literally can't do anything else. He'll ball in the right situation.
  19. I saw at least two Houston media personalities talk about 3 firsts and 2 2nds with a 3rd which could go to a 2nd and a player. That's a lot of draft capital. Again, Miami isn't very good in the draft room so ouch. The irony? Watson would probably be in a situation similar to the last couple of years in Houston.
  20. That wasn't the question. It was who would you rather have on the floor? Simmons is clearly the better and more versatile defender. They actually shoot about the same and you have to really hand it to the Warriors, they seemed to have built a great culture for guys to come in and find their roles and embrace the game. Javale McGee says going to Golden State changed his life. Now, if you want to talk trade value, different conversation. Morey always seems to like to play poker, even to the detriment of his own team, so maybe he's willing to just roll with it until a major injury leverages a team to make a more substantial bid. I would imagine it would be Wiggins, Kuminga and pick(s) for Simmons and another guy. Debate away if that package is worth it. I'm not a Wiggins guy FTR..... The question was would the Warriors play with two non-shooters like Draymond and Simmons on the floor at the same time, and I would imagine they would, as Simmons and Dray's defense would cover up a lot of mistakes. Who would be the 5th guy? Porter? Poole? Iggy? aggie probably knows.
  21. 3rd team. Reportedly, Houston's not interested in Tua. It's one of the hurdles, Miami has to find a team who will give them the picks they need to send over to Houston. Watson has a full no trade and doesn't want to go to Philly and they've been told. Same with Detroit Maybe sitting on his ass for a couple of months has changed his mind but probably not. Also, logically, what's trading for Watson going to reasonably do for their season? Probably doesn't show up for a couple of weeks, still have @ Buffalo, NO, and Tennessee on the schedule along Carolina and NO at home. 9-8 would be unbelievable but with their injuries on defense, it's looking more like 7-10. Now, what happens if Watson gets criminally charged and then suspended in the offseason? Miami definitely is interested, its about how stupid are they willing to get? Their owner is a meddling moron and their GM, while having done well to stockpile picks, isn't good in the draft room. It also seems like Miami is bidding vs themselves and it's probably because the owner, after having been rumored to require his GM to draft Tua over Herbert, is bored and wants erase the bad taste in his mouth, while the GM is nervous about job security and will do whatever he can to make his boss happy. Unless the Texans are selling at a substantial discount from earlier, Miami is probably going to be "that team"...... "that sucker".
  22. They rolled with Draymond and Kelly Oubre last year...... lol. I mean, they regularly play Draymond and Looney together with 3 shooters. Would you rather have Looney or Simmons on the floor if Ben's head is in it? I'm not saying it's going to happen, in fact, I've been saying I doubt it, but at some point, his value probably gets them more serious.
