Most frequent Saturday breakfast at our house is German (also called Dutch) Pancakes with butter, fresh lemon juice, and powdered sugar. Way better made with farm eggs. Always a side of bacon. Sometimes with sauteed apples. Sometimes with fresh berries.e75cfb92ee7e53d88c7f394ff356fa0d.jpg

You know, this sounds and looks good, but I'm more of a basic big protein breakfast kind of a guy.  Dishes with lots of meat (#nohomo) and eggs, and some jalapenos or other peppers for a kick.  No fruit, pastries or other sweets, and skillet potatoes and flour tortillas are the only real starches or breads I'll eat.

Ha, no.  My kids are wonderful: beautiful, well-behaved, funny, everything.  But for me, the yoke of responsibility that goes with being a parent is nearly unbearable.  The amount of worry and stress I have been under since having kids simply hasn’t been worth it so far.  I just don’t feel like I was cut out to be a parent.  It has also put a huge strain on my marriage.  My kids are still very young, so I am hopeful that once they are a little older and more independent the experience won’t be so heavy and I will be able to enjoy it a little more.

I can understand having those feelings.  Even today, I struggle with my youngest child constantly cockblocking the attention of my wife (he's 8 and is still on my wife like a leach).  I could tell you it get's better when they're older and more engaging, more independent, less demanding, etc., but in some ways it gets harder with the level of energy required for your kids' growing list of extracurricular activities and the new territories of middle school and high school, and it's hard to put myself in another father's shoes.

I *think* I know what you’re saying (I have two daughters ages 4 and 2), but that still sounds weird. The way you are saying it.

But yeah, the concept of regretting having children seems crazy to me.  As tough as it can be, I can't imagine, and wouldn't want, a life without them.

Every time I’m at the gym I have a dream that one of the hot chicks gets done working out then asks for my help in the shower.

It’s gonna happen one day, I know it

Quagmire: So she plops down right on the shower floor and she looks up at me and says 'I think I'm in the mood.'

midtown: She said that? What did you say?

Quagmire: I didn't have to say anything.

    Dennis Taylor: Whatcha do?

Quagmire: What do you think I did?

Dennis Taylor: I think you got the hell out of there, ran home, and wacked off.

midtown: [makes a wacking off noise with his cheek]

    South Austin: I disagree.

    [to Quagmire]

South Austin: Did you have your bike there?

    Quagmire: Yeah.

South Austin: I think you jumped on your bike, peddled home, and wacked off!

  4. Good call on Sienna.  My wife and I hadn’t been there since before we had kids, but recently put it back in the rotation. Agree on the atmosphere. It’s a great rustic-feeling space, and it’s not some disguise for a poor quality menu, as the food is always solid.

That guy was an asshole supreme and a total bitch wrapped in one. I thought he left due to some doxxing type stuff. Had his whole profile wiped.

Could be.  I just noticed his insufferable posting ceased right round the time the Briles shit surfaced.

Of course it's a euphemism for:

I'm going to skin you and wear you after you properly moisturize your skin.

It rubs the milk on its skin, or else it gets the hose again.

  7. So what are your go-to's for Italian?

Wife and I went to Vespaio a lot when we lived off South Lamar, and dined there a month ago for the first time in years, and it's still pretty fucking good.

La Traviata and Asti are also old favorites that still hold up well.

We go to Gusto a lot, mainly because it's close, easy for a last-minute meal choice, and our kids like it, but I'd consider it slightly above average.

Haven't tried Andiamo or Red Ash, but a friend raves about them.

To sum it all up, utilize the benefits of lifting heavy weights by lifting heavy in the low to moderate rep range on your compound lifts. Focus on getting stronger with these movements. Add in drop sets, reverse pyramid sets, and higher rep sets on accessory movements with light weights to induce more metabolic stress.

This is kinda what I do.  Higher weight, lower reps for compound exercises, which start my workout, followed by lower weight and higher reps for the support muscles (e.g., triceps after chest and shoulders, biceps after back).  But even with the compound exercises, I'm going more for the 8 rep range than 5-6.

And at 44, I'm not trying to get huge.  I've found that going heavy in the 5 or less rep range can compromise my form, and at my age, form is everything.  Like Lester Burnham said in American Beauty:

Lester Burnham : I figured you guys might be able to give me some pointers. I need to shape up. Fast.

Jim Olmeyer : Are you just looking to lose weight, or do you want increased strength and flexibility as well?

Lester Burnham : I want to look good naked!

What is the cost? Do they have any power racks?

They have four power racks.  I honestly don’t remember the exact monthly fee, but think it was in the $40-$50 range.

And will someone like say a USC or another traditional powerhouse pick off Matt Campbell from ISU.   If ISU has a good season this year and takes it to the next level, his name will be at the top of the list of must have coaches.  And who knows how much longer Coach Sweat and Visor will be at TCU and Rhule at Baylor?

Just my thoughts, but Matt Campbell is at Iowa State two more years at most.  Coach Fatty McSweaty will be at TCU the rest of his life, which may not be too much longer given the shape he's in.  And Rhule flirts with job openings every year, so it wouldn't surprise me if he bolts after 2019.

That's pretty much my line of thinking with Anytime Fitness.

Been going to Anytime on Guadalupe for about a year now.  Has everything I need in terms of free weights, machines, and cardio equipment, and is pretty much douche free.  Only downside is there's not as many hot chicks, although I get to the gym at 5am, which tends to thin out the herd overall.

From the mayors daughter inAnimal House to Caddyshack

This was an outstanding find, especially considering that those movies were two years apart and she has a different haircut.  I never would've made the connection.

I see your mom is the head of that department...

You can say many things about my mom, but when you associate her with the state of Oklahoma you've crossed the line.  Good day, sir!
