  1. Roope confirmed out again tonight. Hopeful for next game (whatever that may be). Going to have to sack up and play well tonight across the board.
  2. He's masked at 4AM. It's 100% a threat. Anyone downplaying this is either too partisan to think objectively about it or does not have a wife and kids at home (or both). It's bullshit. And if some other moron does this shit and ends up getting shot in the process, zero sympathy from me.
  3. I'm just glad Mavs/Stars conflicts are done. This has been a great series and I've barely gotten to see any of it live.
  4. It's pretty fucking embarrassing that the Cloak Room regulars are trying to fucking justify or play down this type of idiocy. It's beyond unacceptable. I'm sure they would have the exact same "no big deal" opinion if it were MAGA idiots showing up harassing D appointed judges or similar.
  5. Gave them life. Frustrating. That sequence that led to their 2nd goal was frustrating AF from what I saw (blatant pick, save, cross check, retaliation, massive flop). Haven't seen replay other than limited in arena so maybe wasn't as bad as I thought. But regardless, that sequence changed the game. That being said, they completely outplayed us in all respects from that point on. Good W for the Mavs at least. Big one on Friday.
  6. Tenured per that article. Not apples to apples.
  7. Is it really controversial on this board that the employee was fired? I saw the video last week. It's a bad look. Not an employment lawyer so not weighing in on all this first amendment talk but I'll be pretty surprised if he wins this. I don't think first amendment prevents you from being fired for acting like an asshole on camera (unless you have contracted around that) regardless of your employer.
  8. Yeah, they would call it "day-to-day" whether he could go tomorrow or shelved until November right? I know hockey always vague with injuries in the playoffs but pretty sure not the same level of disclosure obligations compared to the NFL. I thought Hakanpaa would have been back 2 weeks ago based on what was said before the playoffs.
  9. Agreed. High stakes for both. If either thought they were a clear favorite that person would refuse. But Joe needs moderate votes in bulk and agreed debate helped with that. People that don't necessarily like Joe need to be reminded why they really didn't like Trump.
  10. Great game last night. We sense they were wounded early and just attacked. Then strong close out 3rd period to put it to bed without any issues. Guess nothing about Roope yet. Hopefully he isn't out long term. He's clearly been battling something (or multiple things) for a while so hopefully just aggravation that gets better with some rest (particularly if we can close it out tomorrow without him) and not something new.
  11. Who gives a shit about any of this. It's gameday. JFC
  12. I've barely been able to watch any of this series so far attending both stars games. But people on my text chain that never bitch about officiating have been cussing the calls SGA has gotten. Hopefully he doesn't get the benefit on the road tomorrow. Look forward to finally watching. Still so pissed the NHL scheduled Stars in direct conflict with Mavs. At least staggered for games 6 and 7 if both series go long.
  13. Great time at the AAC last night. Way too close for comfort and we have to figure the 3rd period out but good W. Fuck the Avs and their bitch ass fans crying about that hit. And maybe keep your head up if you are along the boards dumbass. On a flight to Vegas for the weekend. Let's grab game 3 and the series momentum Saturday.
  14. Special teams was an absolute mess for Dallas last night in all respects outside of the 5 on 3.
  15. I said to my buddy right before the game started that I don't think 3 goals wins a single game this series. Unfortunately that proved correct last night. They are going to score a bunch and I don't think anything Otter can do about it except stop enough to keep it in the 3 range instead of the 6 or 7 range. But that goes both ways. I feel like we had almost as many good opportunities last night as we did in Vegas game 3 (where we completely dominated play) despite the fact we completely slept walked through the 2nd period and more than half of the 3rd with virtually zero chances during that stretch. We can absolutely score 5-7 against these guys if we play our game just like we did a few weeks ago in Denver.
  16. 100% agree with this. It's a bunch of losers without a social life and/or a group that wants to find a target to blame for their own self made problems. And that applies to both extreme sides of the political spectrum. Personally, I'm an equal opportunity hater. Despise and deride both groups at each opportunity.
  17. I only got to watch snippets of the game last night from the AAC between periods and during timeouts. But this game thread seems like a microcosm of the little I saw. Luka missing shots, SGA flopping/soft calls or hitting shots, Gafford playing ok but everyone else looking off. Looks like I didn't miss much.
  18. Yeah, I mean, I don't think Colorado is shying away from the fact they are top heavy. They have probably the best current player in the NHL . Of course they want him on the ice as often as they can.
  19. Yes. And I looked up TOI this AM to confirm it. Their top line skated 25+ last night.
  20. Bischel is still 19 I think and from everything I've read probably 2 years away. I can't see any possible way you bring him into the NHL playoffs. They just have to trust Nils and hope to limit the damage or do the same with Hakanpaa once he's healthy. There is no way around it. I do think Marchment could provide a nice spark if he's ready to play. He was playing pretty well until he was injured.
  21. The 'hunger strike' video is hilarious. The self importance of all these losers is absolutely mind boggling.
  22. I haven't seen a replay so you all can tell me if I'm off. But I thought 2/3 of Georgiev's goals looked pretty soft live (i.e., both other than the 5 on 3). Then yes, he made some huge stops in the 3rd and OT although I feel like we had a carry over of the same 'finishing' issue from last series. Hintz missed on a great opportunity. Then on the Pavelski feed to Seguin - I thought for sure that it was the winner. It was right in front of me and I was celebrating when I saw the pass. I couldn't tell if Segs just didn't get his stick turned to elevate or puck was bounching a bit or what but that seemed like as much of a missed finish as it was a great save. For Otter, I'm not sure any of the goals were "soft". Our PK was garbage. But we needed him to make that one big save in OT and he didn't make it. I haven't seen a replay of the winner yet but it seemed similar to the breakaway in game 5 Vegas had with 1-2 mins left he stopped.
  23. How last night played out was exactly what I was nervous about when I saw the BS schedule. Team had zero energy the 2nd and first half of the 3rd. Neither did the arena. It felt like we were playing a Tues night in February against the Blues at times. It's almost like everyone was still hungover for a GD 9PM start on a Tues after a huge game 7 win 48 hours earlier. That was also evidenced by the ticket market which was a joke. The 5 seats next to us never sold. For those local, get to the game Thurs. You won't be paying anything near what folks paid for game 7. All that being said, I think this team will settle in and this series goes long. There was no way we could expect them to keep the same intensity for 60 mins after last series. Duchene called it the most stressful hockey of his career and I think we saw the letdown last night. I think pretty much everyone plays better Thurs. Our top line isn't going to beat their top line this series, they aren't as good, but I think they will play better than tonight. Hintz needs to take his (lack of) performance personally. Or he's hurt, in which case, we are probably cooked if we can't get 'something' out of him this series. Seguin and Stankoven just seem snakebit. Both have had great looks all playoffs and just can't get the puck in the net. Feel like the dam is going to break for both of those guys soon.
  24. Ok. I watched. Correct I don't see any anti-semitic chanting. I see a bunch of losers that deserve to be arrested. This is on par with the stuff posted on the national news that doesn't get into the fringe/militant wing we've seen. And I'm fine assuming that wing is a small minority. But if you are arguing these videos somehow paint the protestors in a positive light we'll just agree to disagree on this one.
  25. I mean if the best defense you have for these losers is "yeah but the KKK" that says a lot.
