  1. I feel like Edmonton finds a way to win it but who knows. I agree I don't know who I prefer from a Stars perspective. In a way it's the exact opposite of the situation the Mavs were in last night. I wasn't sure who presented a better matchup, arguments each way, but the Mavs were going to be pretty decent sized underdogs to either team. Here it is the opposite. Edmonton and Vancouver are pretty different styles and I don't think 1 is clearly better than the other (as we've seen this series). But Stars should be relatively heavy favorites over either. I'm rooting for OT (both because game 7 OT is the best and because clearly just want the winner worn down).
  2. And you cried to blacklab when I was being mean to you. Fuck off, pussy. How was the rest of the weekend? Good Sunday night?
  3. What are the big roster moves you guys are going to try to make to attempt to stay competitive with the Stars considering Nichuskin's untradeable contract with a $6.125 cap hit through 2030?
  4. Agreed. I heard Pete said Roope would have been doubtful for game 7. If he can't go Thurs, I think it's clearly a long term deal. Regardless of that, everyone else that is hurting (which has to be damn near everyone) has a good chance to get right. Bet they have a hard 60 min practice Tues to stay sharp. Multiple OT's would be fantastic.
  5. Nah. As long as Jerrah is around they are who they are. Couldn't care less.
  6. I thought he was likely done for the year with a slight chance to get back at some point during the finals. Would be happy to have that wrong.
  7. They have multiple tables. Only 1 was open? I walked right up to a $10 min table around midnight last Friday. My favorite near strip place to gamble. Makes me realize I never came back and did a trip report. Here we go: Stayed at Waldorf which I remain a big fan of. Quiet and nice center strip location. Your wife will like it. Great for a work trip. Would not recommend for a guys trip. Never a wait to check in which is nice. Top floor skybar under renovation so only a small area open for now but still a good place for a pre-dinner drink. Super chill (no-party) pool that we went to for a bit Friday afternoon after landing. Fri Dinner: Catch @ Aria. My 2nd time but had been several years. Was actually really impressed (much moreso than first trip for a work dinner). Everything we had was great except for branching out and trying a mojito pre-dinner drink which was awful. Server saw our reaction and immediately took them and offered our choice. Good service. J. Timberlake Concert: Tons of fun. His pre-concert DJ may have been just as good. Nothing but 90's and 2000's jams he knew his audience. T Mobile is a great venue for anything. Ellis Island: Great as always. Grinded on a craps table for a couple of hours and think I cashed out +$60. That's a win. Crack Shack: Ok, this is a place I found on my last work trip. Convinced my wife to ditch the fancy brunch we had scheduled and hit it right next door for chicken sandwiches and champagne. Really good shit. Circa: So we went here for Mavs game 3 v. OKC (12:30 local start). I bet $500 on the Mavs and got a $450 minimum spend daybed. We know how that played out so daybed and lots of drinks were effectively free. We did NOT hit our minimum (I did my part, wife couldn't hang) but great afternoon. Stadium Swim is phenomenal as is the sports book in the casino. After leaving we walked down the Freemont St. experience and I lost $100 or so at blackjack in some casino. I don't think I have been downtown in 15+ years but was very impressed with what they have done. I think we are all in on staying at Circa next trip and just doing 1 night trip to the strip. I like (but don't love) to gamble and tons of "Eliis Island" equivalents downtown. The steakhouse at Circa is supposed to be great as well for a good meal. Dinner: Somehow made it to Pieros. It was solid as always. Kind of a blur. I got my Veal Parm and we got a pasta dish and salad and split it all and left a lot of food on the table. Stars game started so had to leave. Beer Park: Still my favorite (only place I know not a sportsbook?) to watch a big game. Great bar setup. Bellagio fountains going. Stars win. All fantastic. On way back I drag my wife through Planet Hollywood and find a craps table. Tread water a couple of rolls then guy at end of table has a massive roll. He finally crapped out when I had over $500 still on the table but I took $650 off before that. Probably should have seen how far the Mavs, Stars, Craps heater could take me but was done at that point so tipped dealers, cashed out and called it a trip. Great time as always. Love that city.
  8. This is true. But his potential is off the charts. He's just a kid.
  9. I saw your post and looked it up. My season ticket pricing (lower corner where opponent shoots 2X) are $221 this round. Which is a big discount off what they will try to sell them for (the only way you get value out of season tix is a big playoff run). I'm guessing "face" of these are closer to $325+. For those looking to go, the good thing is with the Mavs playing, I think it keeps pricing for both somewhat in check. I really considered going to Mavs game tonight but could not justify spending $450 per (plus a sitter) with potentially 2 more Stars series on the table. If Stars were done already I would have been there. I feel like a lot of people are likely picking and choosing their spots with simultaneous runs.
  10. This is just a truly unbelievable DFW sports heater. And I'll say this. I gave the high priced Mavs crowd some shit at half in this thread. That arena seemed loud as hell in the 4th. Props to anyone who went.
  11. Fuck you Tony Brothers. We in. Holy Shit. Mavs and Stars in the WCF. What a time to be alive!
  12. It's intentional. Donaghy always said he could change the game 6/8 points. He also always said the refs knew who the league wanted to win. This is fucking Exhibit A. There was ZERO FUCKING COINCINDENCE Tony Brothers got this game.
  13. Lively is going to be a fucking BEAST in 4-5 years.
  14. Still right where we want them despite Tony Brothers BS. Need 5 mins of clutch play right damn now.
  15. I have 2 thoughts at half. 1. Dallas gets fucked by having such a corporate crowd on a Saturday night. Shitty lowers were $450+. There was a stretch of such horrid officiating in the 2nd that the arena should have been damn near rioting. Tony Brothers should be motherfucked so bad he's embarrassed to carry a whistle. Instead, we get a half ass "ref you suck" chant while half the highland parkies in the arena sit on their hands talking real estate bullshit or whatever. 2. Jason Kidd is a god damn moron. They are clearly making a run. How the F do you not take a TO. That was absolute idiocy down the stretch. Going to have to put it back together quickly to have a shot in the 4th. GD can't believe blowing this prime opportunity.
  16. Agree. Not sure I've seen all of hockey twitter pretty much universally outrage like that. Even most Avs media and fans that hate the Stars were saying the Stars got screwed. It's still getting a lot of discussion but nothing like if Stars had lost.
  17. Robo didn't have much on O last night but his blocked shot in the 3rd may have very well saved the game. Hard to tell for sure on the replay but it may have very well found the net if he didn't react quickly and lay out.
  18. There is no good reason other than "we didn't want the game to end that way". The problem is the NHL has now fallen into the trap we've seen in CFP and NHL which is they flat out won't overturn the call on the ice in a big moment. There is absolutely zero chance if they ruled it a goal it would have been overturned. I put the blame on the jackass on the ice for calling the interference in the first place. But that was beyond obvious enough to overturn and do the right thing.
  19. I guess I have a slight bias if it's Tues since I'll be able to make games 1 and 2. If it's Thurs start - I'll miss game 2. I like our position regardless. Even if Tues, we get 3 days off to recover and Vancouver has to fly from Edmonton to Dallas on a quicker turnaround effectively starting series off on a 3 game road trip. If it's Thurs, we have a chance to really get healthy and watch them beat each other up with loser dealing with even quicker turnaround. It's odd at this point I don't even have an opinion of which scenario I think is preferable or which team I would like to face. We should be solid favorites against either. Edmonton has the star power that can win a game singlehandedly but we just beat the better version of that team. Vancouver seems a bit more well rounded although could it be we can just shut down a team like that? Who knows. So maybe despite missing game 2 I'm rooting for Edmonton here to at least take it to game 7 and then let the chips fall. Either way will be a fun series.
  20. For anyone that missed it go back and listen to the Duchene post game interview on TNT tomorrow. I heard it live but was still too amped up to listen to all of it. Listened again and really damn good. We're winning this fucking thing.
  21. Fair point. It could start Thurs regardless. I don't know definitively. I'm just speculating given that the East schedule was announced as a Weds start before Florida clinched tonight. Thought that may mean they were waiting to see how the West played out.
  22. Every other. I think if Van wins Sat we play Tues and if not then Thurs.
  23. Had to log on during victory beer. Holy fucking shit what a game guys. I don't think I've ever been as mad about a call outside of a handful of Texas football games. Thank god Karma played out the right way tonight. Great game by the entire fucking team. Otter played out of his mind. Benn - huge goal. Tanev, nails. Miro was Miro. Marchment - won it the first time (was my #Bucciovertimechallenge pick for the record and first time I ever actually picked correctly), Johnston and Stank all over the ice, gritty 4th line was a gritty 4th line all damn game, then the Duchene winner and old man Pavelski digging it out for him. The low key play of the game might have been Robertson laying the fuck out to block the puck in the 3rd period (I think). It was a hell of play. I love this fucking team. So pumped for more games at the AAC! LETS GO STARS!
  24. I mean I get they don't trust Nils. But Nils has played in over 100 NHL games. Bisch has played in....... zero? Crazier things have happened I guess but that would be pretty shocking to me. But yes - seems like someone needs to eat 9-10 minutes. Miro logged 28 last game.
