  1. Ticket pricing is pretty insane. I went to games 4 and 5 in the 2011 finals and that wasn't cheap (in 2011 money) but just no way to justify $2K for a shitty lower. Will be interested to see if this market holds. I know of several half season or 20 game pack holders putting up game 3 to try to make their playoff spend back on 1 game which isn't a bad strategy if it works.
  2. Exactly. I told a gambler buddy to hammer the over 5.5 last game. I thought with Tanev out or playing injured our D would struggle but fully expected our offense to wake up and score 3-5 goals. I expected 8 combined goals minimum with someone winning 5-3 or 5-4. I was shocked how they shut us down.
  3. I'll add I fully expect Edmonton to come out looking for the early kill just like the Mavs did in game 5. First 20 minutes should be fast paced and back and forth. If it remotely resembles the 2nd period we are toast.
  4. I think it was intentional and was one of his last ideas LOL. Show the team he's got their back while also clearly letting them know their character is being questioned (regardless of whether that was Cowlishaw's actual intent). I think we'll know what this team has left by how the first 20 minutes go.
  5. There were a lot of Edmonton fans and they seem like a great fanbase. Support their team hard without being jackasses. They seem infinitely better than the Knights and Avs douchebags I encountered.
  6. Last night felt like a funeral after they went up 3. It just seemed like a combination of Stars being out of gas and Edmonton hitting another gear. I listened to a podcast with a Vegas analyst and Sean Shapiro before the Vegas series started and one thing that stuck with me is Shapiro saying that what concerned him about Vegas from a Stars perspective is that even if you get past them, how much will the body blows of playing such a physical team in a 7 game series take out of you down the road. Wonder if we are starting to see that now. I fully expect this team to give it their all tomorrow night. I agree 100% with what Pete said and I absolutely don't question this teams character. I just question whether they are spent. Guess we'll find out tomorrow. Would love to get this to a game 7 on Tuesday and let the chips fall.
  7. Right, saw that. I mean DeBoer acted like Hakanpaa could be back in the Vegas series. I take everything he says with a grain of salt. But fingers crossed he's actually telling the truth on this one.
  8. Sounds like Bichsel if not Tanev. 19 YO with an NHL debut 2-2 in the WCF against the best player in the world? Go get em' Tiger LOL. We need to score 5+ goals tonight.
  9. Same with the Wild fans. Still butthurt about the North Stars from 25+ years ago. Always great to eliminate that city and their shitty fans (no opinion on Twins fans, maybe they are fine).
  10. Mavs back in the fucking finals man. Unreal. I'll be the first to say I never would have believed this at the start of the season or certainly at the All Star break. Just amazing turnaround after the trade deadline. Can't wait to see Luka on the biggest stage.
  11. Maybe I'm mixing games but felt like he did something like that in the game 7 Phx beatdown but hit it.
  12. That's right. Typing too quickly. I would assume they keep Iron Bowl in traditional 2:30 slot. So we are likely primetime with Aggy. But it seems like one of those decent SEC games has to get moved to either Thurs night or Friday afternoon.
  13. With the Iron Bowl moving to Friday, what is ABC/ESPN going to do with their Thanksgiving night slot? It's head to head with the NFL but that is a lot of decent inventory for a Saturday. Wondering if any chance they move us.
  14. Put me in the 11AM camp. I always hated it when younger and late nights on Friday were the norm. As an old, I strongly prefer the early start. Last time it was 2:30 was an absolute whip trying to get out of the fair.
  15. He would be a top 20 pick in a redraft. It's fantastic value to have gotten him where we did and he will be a huge asset for this franchise. Edit: I found a redraft from BEFORE this season that had him as a top 10 pick (#9). I bet we see that consistently when these lists start getting made more frequently the next couple of years. Back to more important things, I randomly came across a twitter doc that tweets about NHL injuries and he thinks Tanev is either a broken bone in his foot (6-8 weeks) or a bone bruise (day to day). We obviously won't know for sure until he either plays or season is over. Like Deboer said, fingers crossed. This team can win a game without him but don't think they can win the cup without him given lack of defensive depth with Hakanpaa seemingly not close (he didn't even travel).
  16. JFC. He's 21 years old and was a 2nd round pick (#47 overall). Nobody is expecting him to be a top 10 player in the league. That was never his ceiling. Many teams that passed never thought he could play at this level period given his size.
  17. Worst overall game of the playoffs. Just never recovered after they grabbed momentum in the first. Going to have to dig deep on Friday if Tanev is out. This team has a knack for bouncing back strong.
  18. I see Edmonton likely making a few different changes tonight including speculation Perry slotting in.
  19. Seriously. Fuck those guys.
  20. Hintz, even at 85 or 90%, would be huge this series. Hopefully he's back soon.
  21. So sick of this shit
  22. Great game last night. So huge to get a win on a night where the outside shots weren't falling. It will be interesting to see how MN adjusts defensively after getting destroyed in the paint. I've got a feeling we'll need to make more 3's the next game (with plenty of great looks) so hopefully got that poor shooting night out of the system.
  23. I can't believe this is the tape these morons released when charges haven't been dropped. You truly can't make this kind of idiocy up.
  24. I'm pretty sure it's his hand/wrist from the cross check. I've seen chatter to that effect (speculation broken finger) which would make sense that he's skating but not practicing. Probably because he can't grip a stick (or doesn't want to while injury healing). Whatever he was dealing with before seemed to be more in the hips as he didn't have his burst. Maybe the time off has healed whatever he was playing through if we can get him back with this injury but who knows. They acted like Hakanpaa was a possibility for the Vegas series yet here we are and he's still not skating.
