  1. What precautions? It doesn’t matter Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I can’t believe we are still doing this COVID nonsense in year two with athletes. Not to mention everyone can be vaccinated at this point. So stupid
  3. Tiafoe may have the title these days. I love Evans game. It shouldn’t work, but it does. Extreme mental strength to take his skill set and turn it into a top 30 ranking.
  4. These COVID protocols are so fucking stupid at this point. Years wasted
  5. First good episode of the show Although the fight and letting Zemo get away was stupid/lazy
  6. One of my dad’s best friends was a police sergeant. Off duty one night, coming home from a date night with his wife and some teenagers (legal age) threw rocks at his unmarked car. He stopped and got out to confront them and one of them shot him in the head, killing him instantly while his wife watched from the car. The two kids with the shooter got a life sentence and somehow the shooter has gotten like a hundred appeals and is still alive 20 years later after receiving a death sentence. I still remembering answering the landline at my house the next day when his wife called my mom to tell her what happened. I was like 8 at the time. Fun fact - I almost banged their daughter in high school. Couldn’t close the deal
  7. Perhaps I’m just different than everyone else, but my first reaction when confronted with a police presence and/or a gun in my face is to say nothing, don’t move and do whatever they want. It’s certainly not resisting arrest, trying to jump in the open door of a car and play Grand Theft Auto. I just don’t really understand.
  8. Not sure anyone is arguing the officer shouldn’t be fired at minimum. Also - a surgeon is working under very controlled circumstances, at their own pace with zero risk to their own life. Completely different situation.
  9. Not sure I agree that we wouldn’t still have issues with substandard police (I believe in a correlation between pay and quality) but I’m with you otherwise. The blue wall is an issue
  10. There are going to be tens of thousands of incidents today and tomorrow and the next and the next that go perfectly. It’s just such a small number that go bad. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t appropriately deal with those (Chauvin for example) that do go bad, but it’s so far from the normal
  11. Emphasis on exponentially. Don’t run/resist cops, immediately ask for your lawyer, don’t be heavily impaired in public. It’s like the golden trifecta of having the least issues possible. But shooting someone instead of using a taser is also a mind numbingly terrible mistake
  12. I really don’t think this woman was trying to be a warrior officer. Clearly trying to use her non-lethal weapon and fucked up royally. I don’t disagree that a better grasp of risk/reward could be used by officers on whether to escalate situations. Probably should have just let this guy head off once they botched the arrest and add a couple charges for when they eventually grab him later. But this is done the fairway part of the job at this point for officers.
  13. Just not true. What they are trained to do is NOT let people walk away with warrants, especially if they resist arrest and there are multiple officers on scene. That’s like down the fairway part of their job, routine type stuff. They are also trained on the proper weapon to use, which in this case was correctly a taser. They are also trained to then actually fire the correct weapon, which was horrifically done incorrectly. This officer should never hold a law enforcement job again, that’s an error that just can’t happen. But I don’t think she should be charged, maybe unlawful firing of a weapon or something. If you’re going to charge her for murder on that, and continue to pay police $40-$60k, things are going to get worse not better. Applications from the smarter, better candidates are going to tank as the pay just isn’t worth the risk, both from harm and legal if you legitimately mess up.
  14. Yeah this is super mediocre. Falcon isn’t good and Bucky is annoyingly bi-polar. Tired of the “staring” joke, was never funny. Too many things going on and lack of definition. Not even close to WandaVision and Loki looks awesome
  15. If this team stays even remotely healthy, they are going to be a WS contender. Especially if Verlander gets his shit together and rehabs early
  16. So is 50% of our team hurt? Or only 25%?
  17. Yep, about 6 months ago I said that Korda was the only American hope for a top 5 player. I like Tiafoe but his technique is terrifying. Opelka is awful like Isner, Fritz is improving but something just doesn’t click, and I’m blanking on one other....
  18. I’m on finance side, so not leaving behind a ton of stock or anything like that. I’d be getting a pay increase. Since I switched into O&G I’ve only known bad/OK times and the disaster of 2020. The days of early 2010s at $100 were before my time, but would prefer to not miss them if that’s where we are headed in six months
  19. Would I be an idiot to leave O&G now? Got an opportunity that’s pretty good, but feel like I’m selling “low” on the O&G industry after getting through the nightmare of 2020
  20. You think the Texans are weighing three options: 1) Don’t trade DW, he sits out but is still on team 2) Trade DW, probably don’t get proper value but get a bunch of good draft picks 3) Dig up/create a complex criminal scandal with 20 victims so that they accomplish neither #1 or #2, cancel DWs contract. All to save face and shift blame? I get that the Texans are now a bottom 5 franchise in terms of management, but that’s insanity talking.
  21. I agree. It was pretty obvious after a handful of claims what was going on. Purposely hiring mostly untrained, quasi amateurs and then flying them in or whatever. Are some of the stories a little strange? Yep. Is the lawyer an insane person? Yep. But it’s clear DW is a creep (at best) I do disagree on the person who said they have had positive interactions with DW. Assuming they are telling the truth, I see that as a perfectly valid statement. No need to ignore anyone who isn’t piling on.
